I found this weird guy on South Jetty Beach in Florence OR. I’m new to OR and internet research is giving me a lot of different answers!

Is agate beach, the one in the Port Orford area, covered in sand now or is it rocky enough to find agates? I never knew there was a “sand season” on the coast. I was surprised to find sandy beaches where there were once rocks.

Photos taken in early July 2026 along the Oregon Coast. Locations include Haystack Rock, Lincoln City, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, and Devils Punchbowl. I miss the coast!
