Lost & Found Please Help Find Alfie!

Sorry for the previous confusing post.

It's a long shot and we're casting a wide net. But hoping to make a connection with the plumber that ended up with Alfie. I am posing for the owner u/honeymomm83 who can be contacted directly. The original post is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/askaplumber/s/JOVpPVFHEf

Her post says:

"HELP MY FAMILY Find Alfie. She is 6.5 years old. Weighs 5 Lbs (give or take depending on her condition) she is probably scared and I can’t imagine what she is going through. A family member who is suffering currently of mental illness. She is in a very dark place. I know she didn’t mean to, she gave her to a complete stranger at the TikTok 82nd Powell Bar & Grill. All we know is that he is a white male and a plumber by trade. Please Please forward this to your social media, print this out and post it at work. Alfie is part of our family. We are her stability when my sister can’t. We love her and she loves her family. You can email me at Mmonroe83777@outlook if you have information."

She emailed me that:

"I was able to talk to the bartender who saw what happened and got a description of the guy. It's your typical white male, short blonde hair, about 6'1, stocky build, jeans and a baseball cap."

Lost & Found Anyone missing a black cat with a bandana

Post image
229 Upvotes

We’re staying in an Airbnb apartment on the second floor (Clay St. & 39th) and when we came outside to leave today there was a black cat in the hallway. Upon coming back from our walk the cat was outside of the building. We brought them back up to the second floor hallway but we just want to make sure this kitty gets home.

Hey Portland, please keep an eye out for Dexter. My parent's cat has Harry Houdini'd out of our apartment near NE 44th and Glisan. He's about 10 years old, 10-12lbs, white and black. Indoor only cat and probably very scared. Please DM if seen.

Update: found!!!

This cart has been here for a bit, and the hedges have been removed for what will clearly be some sort of platform/waiting area. Bright LEDs along the sides, presumably for safety. This is gonna be huge for this little corner of the neighborhood! NW Marshall St & 21st Ave

Apparently they drain it every few years so people can maintain the boathouses and seawalls etc easier. Never seen it empty!

Lost & Found Missed connection: probably less than 1% of this sub knows what a cuíca is, but the one I heard on the South Waterfront today made my whole week

For the 99% of you who are confused: a cuíca is a Brazilian friction drum that sounds somewhere between a squeaky dog toy and a monkey having a really great time. It is the voice of samba. You do not hear it in many places on Earth. And there I heard it, on the bike path by the south waterfront, potentially the last place I’d expect to hear a cuíca being played out in the open.

I rode past you, then as soon as the sound registered in my brain, I did a sharp U-turn to investigate, and there you were. Then I did something I thought I would never do: I approached a stranger and initiated a conversation. We did a bunch of small talk. I should have asked your name. But my brain was stuck buffering like “Me hear brazilian instrument. Me in Portland. Portland not Brazil. Me confusion”, then the moment passed, and I biked away like an idiot without even learning what to call you.

So: cuíca dude, If you're out here and want to be friends, DM me. Someone reading this knows a samba or batucada crew. Help me find them.

⚾ Portland folks! We’re bringing the Dock Ellis League to the West Coast with the Glenn Burke League!
We’ve got 4 teams around the Portland metro area and we’re looking for more people to fill out the rosters for next season.
Wood-bat hardball, all skill levels welcome. Never played before? No problem. No umpires, no managers, no hardos. Just a bunch of people trying to play some baseball.

Discussion Got a ballet, but no pamphlet, along with %50 of my neighbors.

I wanted to vote today, but never got a voter pamphlet. Same address for 7 years. Never had i not received a pamphlet.

So 4 of us are sharing a pamphlet now.

Was there an issue getting them out this year?

Edit: It is available online and at libraries. I have a pamphlet from my neighbor. Most got delivered 2 weeks ago.

I'm not sure why wanting a paper pamphlet instead of reading it on a screen has people set off. My eyes are tired , sorry.
