Discussion Just finished Onimusha way of the sword. This game is an absolute masterpiece. I thought i wouldn’t enjoy it but glad i gave it a try. Got my ass kicked more than a few times but it was worth it. Capcom are the goats this year.

End-game results My 7 year old help me beat the final boss

• Upvotes

I was having trouble with the final boss in onimusha way of the sword. I prepared the best way I could kept all the important items and made sure my Awakening and oni weapon gauge were full before the fight. I kept hearing everyone having a tough time with the final boss. I fought him several times, and learned his moves. Figured out the timing but still couldn't beat him, it wasn't until my daughter told me to lower the volume on the music so I could focus on the sound of the attacks to time everything that I was able to beat him after that one suggestion it took one try and it was game over! So proud of her!!

I’d been eyeing this game for a while but couldn’t decide whether to pull the trigger or not. Then I saw physical/digital edition on sale, so I finally went for it. And man, just 4 hours in, and this is already feeling like GOTY material to me! I’ll save my final verdict until Phantom Blade 0 drops, but so far, I’m having an absolute blast with this game. Another banger from capcom

Question this Is my first Onimusha, do you recommend it?

This year I bought Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata from Capcom, two games that I liked a lot, now I'd like to get this Onimusha, I've never played the PS2 games, would you still recommend it? Some people are criticizing this game saying it's the most disappointing title of the year, what do you think, do you agree?

Discussion Just the game I was looking for. Not since Lost Judgment for me personally has combat delivered like Way Of The Sword. Not to mention the compelling narrative and photo mode, everything I need 👏

Discussion I was too harsh.

• Upvotes

If you, like me, got overwhelmed with the monotony of the side quests and repetitive environments, please power through the story.

The game went from a 6.5, to a 9 for me, when I decided to be less focused on side quests and prioritise the main quest.

The last 30% of the game (personally) makes it absolutely whorth considering for goty.

Story, characters, villains and boss fights are 10/10.

Combat system is absolutely outstanding, while extremely simple.

Ending is beautiful and makes me hopeful for a sequel.

Again, Capcom, well done.

I have ust put the controller down and beat the final boss after probably 60 attempts and I am very happy i finished it.

Why have I only discovered this game just now? I'm having a blast with it.

Currently playing the 2005 PC port with resolution fix and controller fix mod.

Discussion Best combat ever!!!

I’m in love with this game!
I played the bosses in practice over and over.
It got to the point where I memorized every move they have.
The animations are flawless!
The issen is such a rewarding technique.
It makes me feel like Im Goku with ultra instinct.
I’m a big Resident evil fan.
But now I’m more excited about the next Onimusha game rather than the next RE game.
Capcom cant miss!
This is peak!
It even inspired me to start streaming.
Any idea if we will be getting more content from this IP?
Maybe a DLC???

Discussion Onimusha 3 Target Mode is ridiculous.

I just wanted to say after stage 4 it jumps in difficulty immediately and becomes hard as hell. I've never been able to have the pleasure of playing Ultimate Mode in any of the games even though I've owned them for years because they're locked behind ridiculous requirements. Hard mode in Onimusha 2 is ridiculous. Oni Target practice in Onimusha 3 is bullshit. I miss cheat code inputs. Yes, it's a skill issue. I've gotten considerably dulled with my hand eye coordination with age since I've last played these over a decade ago as a kid, so I'm just venting my frustration. I guess I'll have to get an emulator on PC and use gameshark if I ever want to have fun with ultimate mode. I've beaten all 4 mainline games multiple times and can't play the new one because I don't have a new console or PC capable of running it. I forgot how damn hard old games are.

Video The goofiest move in the game IMO! 😂💀

my bad I thought this WAS A SWORD FIGHT U F-ING 🐈 🤬STOP THROWING HOUSES AND FIGHT ME LIKE A MAN!!!

Lmao nah, but in all seriousness when I first ran into this dude and saw him throwing trees and houses I knew I was gonna be in for a wild ride 😵‍💫

No other boss fights like that im just saying 😂

Also a missed opportunity to have a KH2 (kingdom hearts 2) reaction command during this boss where u could slice up the stuff hes throwing at u.

AND B4 ANYONE SAYS IT YES IK U CAN SLICE his fruit thing and make the stuff fall on top of him, BUT THATS NOT WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT! Having him slice up all the stuff with like a perfect Issen attack or something instead wouldve gone crazy just saying...

Discussion After beating Carnage, going for platinum, but Plat seems hard.

I was looking at the trophy list. I must max out not only my equipment ( my sword is maxed, gauntlet is 1 upgrade away from max ) but I must max out every single pouch too ? Defeat 50 enemies with armaments is easy. I got a lot left to do.

Discussion Canonical character ages

Just read online that Musashi is 21, Ganryu 19 and Yoshitsune is 30 (at his original time of death). I have some trouble believing that. Figured Musashi for 28-31, ganryu about 25, Yoshitsune mid fifties. What do yall think?

Discussion Final Boss Fight is so good. Top 3 boss of all time for me(Mini review + final boss thoughts) Spoiler

I just beat the final boss and wow, that was such a good fight. I completely mastered him. I had an answer for all of his moves. What an in-depth combat system. I fucking love this.

Phase 1 was the most difficult for me since I tried to Issen and deflect the glowing sword strikes at the start. After watching YouTube videos, I switched to dodging them. I even got an Issen on the last glowing sword strike every time. Phase 2 had the 3-hit unblockable combo, which I struggled against, especially the last unblockable attack. I always got hit. Once I countered that and his grab attacks, this fight was over. I was able to deflect almost everything.

I even fought Yoshitsune again after beating him once, lol.

I wish there was a phase 4 for this fight. I am not yet full from that wonderful meal. Thinking of starting a Carnage playthrough to experience the combat again.

The story was very simple and boring at first for me, but I fell in love with the characters so fast. And the villains were downright evil and despicable. I like that. Combat is the highlight of this game for me. To me, it’s better than Sekiro’s combat. Sekiro is more difficult though.

Will there be a sequel to this game, since Dokyo and Ganryu are still alive?
