Introduction & Guide to Writing a TypeMe Post

Hello All!

This is a welcome post and guide to all those who want to make a TypeMe post or learn to accurately type others. Don't know your Myers-Briggs type? Create a text/video/audio post describing yourself, and the Reddit Gods will type you! Test results and relevant pictures may also be included, though the focus should be on self-description. Once you've found your type we encourage you to stick around, learn more about MBTI, and help type others. If you have sub improvement suggestions or are interesting becoming a mod, please comment or send us a modmail.

This is an updated welcome post replacing the old one which was created by a previous mod. We've included the link to the old post because some of the comments contain helpful information.

Here's some informational resources on MBTI:

Here's descriptions of each type:

While we currently allow For Fun posts, remember that the main purpose of this subreddit is to help people find their true MBTI type, so we have restrictions in place to improve the quality of content on the sub. We ask that everyone be respectful and keep comments relevant to MBTI. Please review the Rules before posting or commenting.

Creating an MBTI TypeMe Post

Overview

Note, these are not rules, but will be helpful in getting insightful responses. In general, self descriptions might include your preferences, interests, hobbies, lifestyle, career/what you are studying, your values, your life goals, how you like to structure your day, how much social interaction you prefer, how you relate to others, how organized you are, how you tend you express yourself, etc.

Post structure

Here are a few guidelines on structuring your post:

  • Minimum-length: A good typing post should be at least a 1/2 page to receive an accurate typing. Remember, the more information you include, the easier you will be to type. However, keep in mind, posts with excessive length are less likely to be read in their entirety.
  • Elaborating on your answers is important. Try to answer questions with at least a couple sentences. Proper typings are based off of your thought processes rather than behaviors. If you're not elaborating, Typers can't tell much.
  • Please try to break up your post into paragraphs. Walls of text are often ignored.

Questionnaire

Although you don't need to use these questions when making a type-me post, they're here for anyone who needs a bit of a guide. No need to answer all of these questions either:

  • Give a general description of yourself. How old are you?
  • What do you do as a job or as a career (if you have one)? Do you like it? Why or why not? If you are not working, what kind of job do you want to do or what are you studying?

  • If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?
  • What is your relation with movement and your surroundings? For instance do you prefer a sport or outdoors event? If an outdoors event what is it? And why? If not what type of activities do you tend to engage?
  • How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?
  • Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?
  • Do you prefer hands on activities or working with your hands in some form? Describe your activities.
  • Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.
  • What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them?
  • How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?
  • Do you need logical consistency in your life?
  • How important is efficiency and productivity to you?
  • Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?
  • What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?
  • What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses?
  • How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?
  • What's important to you and why?
  • What are your aspirations?
  • What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why?
  • What do the "highs" in your life look like?
  • What do the "lows" in your life look like?
  • How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?
  • Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about?
  • How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you've made it?
  • How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life?
  • Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why?
  • Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why would you?
  • What is the ideal life, in your opinion?

As an FYI, we are working on improvements to the questionnaire so you may see changes in the future.

DISCUSSION Looking for new moderators

Hello r/mbtitypeme, we are in need of new moderators. We are currently down to one active mod (me) and I’m chronically ill so cannot support the sub as much as it needs. I understand the sub could be better and I would very much like to make improvements, but given the current state of the team that is rather difficult.

If you are interested in becoming a mod please fill out the questionnaire below and send it to me via chat - u/aredhel304. Please don’t be intimidated by some of the questions if you are new to this - we are open to taking on some inexperienced mods if you check the other boxes. We do, however, expect that applicants are active members of the subreddit.

  1. Tell me a little about yourself. What are your interests/hobbies? What is your career? Or what are you studying?
  2. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  3. What is your experience with MBTI?
  4. What is your skill set? What do you think you can add to the mod team?
  5. Any experience modding? If not do you understand what the role entails?
  6. What is your vision for the subreddit?

Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you all!

UPDATE (11/9/24) - We’re still looking for additional moderators so please reach out if you’re interested. While all are welcome to apply, I want to add that we do have a specific need for someone with more technical skills - someone willing to work with Automod and/or someone with a software background.

UPDATE (12/18/25) - We are once again looking for moderators with any skillset as long as they meet the criteria above and seem like a good fit for the team.

FOR FUN Type me 20(f) based on this small description iam open to questions

• Upvotes

I am a 20 years old woman.

Iam very good at mathematics and view math amd logic as the thing that structures and can explain reality I mostly use topos theory but also branch out into different subjects if they help me create my view of reality.

It is often asked if people are convergent or divergent thinkers, and iam both. I use massive divergent to create as many non-linear scenarios and possibility and then try to put them all in a convergent whole.

My goal is to find truth, and with truth, I mean ultimate truth.

I normally see hunan language as limited to convey what I want to say, but for this assignment, I will happily oblige.

What else? I am a bit of a very cynical person and am deeply sarcastic don't really care for traditional institutions and don't care about social pleasantries.

My way of using logic is clinical and always leads to one goal like I said the truth.

I view this world as more of a container for math. My big five results are rloei. After a retest, it was rluei. I think it has to do with the state of mind. I am in when I try to find truth. I get hyper focused, but if I hit a dead end, I get a state of executive diysufunction. In this state, I just want to play my violin and forget the world and my past

NEED CONFIRMATION Am I an INTJ or INTP? Here are 6 quick facts about me.

• Upvotes

I keep getting INTP-T on tests, but when I look at how I actually function in daily life, a lot of it screams INTJ. I'm trying to figure out if I’m just an INTJ who is currently stuck in a massive procrastination/stress loop, or if I'm actually an INTP.

If I’m in a public share auto and need to get off, I hate shouting, but I will yell out loudly to stop the driver anyway. I refuse to miss my stop and face the inefficiency of walking back.

Even though I've had barely any interaction with guys, if a guy comes up to ask me a question, I don't look down or fidget at all. I look at them head-on and just answer it directly like a data transaction.

Paradoxically, while I crave order in real life, I deeply love open, tragic, and sad endings in books and movies because they feel structurally deep and realistic.

I don't keep a physical schedule or planner, but I absolutely hate when my daily routine falls off. It stresses me out so much.

I procrastinate a lot, but I feel incredibly guilty about it. It actually tortures me to waste time, especially when I see other people making progress while I feel stuck.

I hate arbitrary authority figures (especially at university where people make everything about age instead of competence). But I still swallow my pride and follow their rules perfectly because I just want the end result (getting my degree).

I can force myself to do something incredibly, deeply boring if I know for a fact that it will practically benefit me down the line.

Sorry for this huge post but I want clarity.

AM I MISTYPED Trouble Typing Myself

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Hi, so this is the second time that I’ve tried to post something like this, but I don’t think that I explained myself well enough. I ended up with a result I didn’t feel was me, and I wrestled with that for a long time, so here I go again.

I am a sixteen year old female who has tried time and time again to take tests and study cognitive functions, yet I haven’t been able to type myself. I believe this might be due to the fact that I have a strong Ne, but I just can’t land on something since I always end up seeing the ways the type or types don’t apply to me. It’s like once a type seems like it fits me, I overthink all the ways it doesn’t apply.

I learned about mbti for the first time about four years ago, and didn’t know much about functions at the time. I took the 16 personalities test and got an INFP each time, so I figured it was right and thought it sounded exactly like me. But as time went on and I learned about the way that INFPs are, then I started to doubt. I doubted even more when I met another INFP and she fit all the stereotypes and further used all the cognitive functions in all the ways I didn’t. She is quiet while I’m not, and she acts on emotion way more than I do. Her decisions are based on feelings more than mine are. This is the main reason I doubted being an INFP even though I related to the characters who fit the type. I also feel that I’m more careful of my values than she is since she tries to fit into groups to a certain degree while I don’t want to when those groups go against my beliefs. I haven’t always done this though, which leads to my next point.

Going back to the very beginning, I started out as a shy baby who morphed into an extroverted toddler and kid who could talk to literally anyone. I lived in a world of my own and was very passionate about things. I used to want to fit into certain circles of people and hated that they would never accept me. This led me to many crying instances since I was and still am very sensitive. This still happens today to some extent since I think people judge me a lot based on how I act and I’m not very good at trying to explain the ways I see things. Even when I write on here I feel like I am trying to prove that I have high Ne or I feel that I’m trying to prove myself against the type because I feel that it truly isn’t me at my core.

One other notable thing is that I never really liked my extraverted ways when I was a kid and realized the ways I seemed immature compared to those around me. (My best friend at the time was a parentified oldest daughter, so I never felt I could match that.) I hated being hated, which I still feel. When I moved from where I was born at the age of 12, I decided I would change my whole personality and ended up morphing into a shy antisocial person inspired by a book character. I despise that I did that so young and at all since I feel that I ruined a part of myself for a time and became someone I’d never been before. I guess you could say that younger me never felt she was good enough and always wanted to be different and liked. This led to a lot of emotional outbursts that mostly involved anger as I grew up, and when I shifted my personality, I suppressed everything and lived kind of in depression. Now I am trying to piece together the two parts of me and find myself again which still is a little hard socially. I’ve learned to gain a tough skin now and see that fitting in isn’t worth giving myself away for.

Anyway, I feel that this aspect kind of messes up the typing process since I can’t fully differentiate between the two. I am neither fully an extravert anymore unless I want to be myself and I am neither a total introvert and quiet person since I can overcome shyness and love to talk with people when I’m in the mood. Instead I’ve been told I am sort of an ambivert since I get passionate about things and don’t care about how I look but at the same time withdraw when tired or upset. I don’t want to spend time or waste time holding space for others to shape me anymore and so now I choose who sees me fully. I’ve learned a lot lately on embracing my extraverted and passionate self in places I feel comfortable to. I love routine and take time to adjust to things. (For example, I am still grappling with processing that I’ve received my driver’s license. I want to be independent but I am afraid of that. I also did that when I got my first phone and when I won awards. I cried the day after I got my phone both because I felt that I was closing a chapter in my life and I felt guilty as well as feeling guilty that my parents spent so much on it. For the awards, I was guilty that I was the one to win even though I wanted to, so I think I do have imposter syndrome sometimes.) I like to journal and I process things through poetry as well as acting and stuff so there’s that. I also struggle a lot with standing up for myself when others are natural leaders, so at times I’m able to be bold, but I’d rather be kind than be right 9 times out of 10. I also want to be liked a lot in class settings and try to be responsible as much as I can.

I also am very passionate about being happy and creative. I love to try new things in ways I dress or express myself in hair or makeup or clothes even if I don’t do it often. I am obsessed with loving characters and trying to find myself in them. I also deliberate on things before I act on them, which I see as very different from my INFP friend. I like to find the joy in the world, like enjoying a sunset or finding deep meaning in a song, and I also hold my values very true. For example, I despise ai and try my best not to support it in any way I can. I want to be more unplugged with my life and try my best to hold myself to standards. I also strongly hate when people are bossy and when they are mean to people that can’t really defend themselves even if I speak bad about others, I hate doing that.

Anyways, I do find that in the testing, I score very high for Se and Si despite my lack of understanding what they fully are. I think the split between sensing and intuition is what throws me off most since I’ve been told I have high intuition before, yet I agree I live in the moment at certain points. I also struggle with figuring out where my functions are placed.

If anybody could help me figure this out, I would be so grateful! If you read this all the way, thank you so very much and sorry for yapping. So. Much. lol..

FOR FUN What do you think?

Here are some things I’ve written to give you an idea:
Naturally, everything remains the same. I awake and I work. For the past 13 years, I haven’t diverged much from this script. Though the story drags on and becomes old, I can’t help but feel secure in its predictability. It flows nearly in a three-arch structure, much like a typical story would. One evening, while I was wrapping up what would turn out to be my last story, I was walking along the path that I always walk. I was trekking through the woods as I always do. I was seeing the sights I always see, hearing the rustling of the bushes against the relentless winds. There was nothing out of the ordinary, everything was fine tuned and absolutely boring. It was so perfectly passable that I felt alienated from it. Then I remembered, I had been continuing this cycle for the past 13 years. I likened the thought to waves welling up and crashing onto the shore only to slip back into the ocean to repeat its purpose so too did I toil. I toiled in the same metaling reality for 13 long years. What was the end goal in my constant routine? As I pondered solemnly, I began to feel slightly excited. At least now I had come to new realizations; new ideas were running rampant in my mind. I couldn’t delay them anymore, I had to let them rush through and bellow madly. So mad were their invocations that I began to feel the hairs on the back of my neck rise. The ideas struck me like lightening bolts, permeating through the very fabric of my skin and into the interconnectedness of the forest around me. The forest then seemed like a vast purgatory, a holding ground in which I may await judgement.

Brown melancholic eyes,
Incarnated anew with pale flesh- the platonic idea of woman. True is that word to both form and spirit. I know, you know, and thee know the thousand natural triumphs your flesh is heir to. One knows that victory of 3 pillow cushions neatly stacked. You know there are hundreds of ways to compare you. I could say your love is like the sea crashing upon the shores of my tepid and forever receding heart. I could compare your affections to the generous and wanton and pregnable longing of the sun. But such metaphors are tricks of language and bear little resemblance to who you are.
You know, I know, and thee know that you’re the backdrop of my life at the burning peak of each morning to the snuffing out of the last light of day. You mutilate me and torture me and then you put me back together better off than you found me. I am your thrall, your dog, your lamenting shaman. I say quiet prayers along your shores. The horrible and wonderful tempest or temptress befall my starkly opposed senses and erode away at the foundations. Greater things await, murmurs of chthonic forces I invite to invade my mind until my mouth foams with anticipatory ardor and my wandering eyes, yet  again, search for yours in the deep. A mass once proud in its world would turn to mud in an instant to join you in yours. To be a part of you, I would let myself be destroyed or at least changed until I am unrecognizable to anyone. You stir my composure with your chaotic forces. A rosy oasis envelops me as I am fed everything from this rare pink-haired nymph with freckles speckled like black stars over a celestial canvas.
I bathe in the glow of your presence every evening. I refract, distort and drag in your light and exhale more darkness. Your ancient, Persian light fills the void of my coal, Nordic cave. This mind reminiscent of Jotunheim melted and burned. You have made me feel every emotion known to humankind. The basis of all my experience, the agony, anguish, and jubilation of my existence.
I fade slowly in your absence. You steal the breath from my lungs through laughter, through rage, through passion, through and through until I am hollow beyond your midst. Like a fire in my breath destroys every doubt. In your eyes, I see a soul of purple and velvet. Your colorful specter bleeds over and embraces me and in that moment of your embrace I felt truly cared for. I felt truly adored by the gods.

NEED CONFIRMATION am i a intj?

I'm a female and I've been trying for a LONGGG time to type myself, like, 2 years maybe? I'm completely sure of my enneagram, which is 3w4.

Since i was a child, I've always wanted to be the best in something, and i tried a lot of different stuff, but never really had the discipline or will to go until the end (basically, i had a difficult >>> there were no external recompensation for my struggles >>> i gave up) now that life is getting serious, I've been for months trying to choose my career path, and I'm torn apart law enforcement, economics and politics OR sports commentary. The teachers and some friends that i asked for advice always said the same thing: Try it and see which one you enjoy more, or even worse, you shouldn't decide your whole life ahead, you're still too young. But my main problem is that, i CAN'T focus on multiple things at once, since i was little I've always dedicated myself to a topic and i would deep dive into it, I can't say i like multiple things, i don't want to be a master of all trades, many people will identify themselves being one, but i can't and don't want to.

some other questions i made:

the hill experiment 2007 showed that babies can identify a good folk and a unhelpful folk, why? what's the evolutionary reason for a baby that can't even talk to be able to identify "evil" objects and helpful ones

well but if some babies didn't gave a fuck and chose the bad object, are they like dumb evolutionary or something?

i still don't get it, so in a situation where there's a evil woman violent asf and a protective kind woman... would the baby choose the violent one just because yes

AI said i use a lot of TI, but Intj doesn't even have Ti on their stack

I really enjoy watching cops videos in YouTube, that's what i mostly do in my free time, and when I'm an adult, i have a lot of interest in cyber security, being a dispatcher, or a tactical fllight officer, when I'm bored or forced to leave my house, I'll see myself asking some questions like for example:

after seeing a guy with his arms crossed at the bus stop, i would ask AI: what is the evolutionary reason for humans to cross their arms? and i will go deeper deeper until I'm satisfied with the answer.

Another one: what's the evolutionary reason for humans to kill themselves if biologically speaking our survivals always came first? It's weird that i think that but it's something that i really enjoy.

I enjoy military equipments, understanding the why of things, and even though i spend the most part of my life thinking how to be the GOAT and have multiple accomplishments, be recognized as uniquely the best of my specific niche (that's why I'm suffering so much currently since I don't know which thing to dedicate myself fully), i still enjoy understanding the deep WHY of things, and the answer "because they said so" usually don't satisfy me enough if I'm interested in the subject (not so much if it's something like, doing a school homework, that i simply don't care lol). I have a fixed goal of my future that is COMPLETELY NON-NEGOTIABLE, and i have plan B and C too, but they're not that positive!!

EDIT: i forgot to say that, since i know my enneagram, Theoretically, this should allow me to eliminate some options, however, many sources say that 3w4 are more inclined to be extroverted, they are a "external" wing, but I'm not extroverted, I'm a poker face in public and even when I'm having the happiest day ever. So that's why I'm not so sure.

another thing that makes me quite apprehensive, is that people say that ni doms visions of the future or "feeling where something is going" is very sharp and good, however i feel like my visions usually fail lol (delusional)

FOR FUN Type me based off this mbti, enneagram and wing

I’m 27 year old man. I want to study psychology and work as a psychologist. Growing up I always had to get good marks at school otherwise I got punished. My father was very strict and hardworking man. Growing up I wasn’t poor at all, but my father was super stingy and didn’t buy me anything even a little bit expensive. I can’t say much bad about my mom. I have OCD. I like basketball and soccer. I’m curious about psychology, especially human behavior. I think I wouldn’t make a good leader. I don’t really like working with hands besides sports. I’m artistic I make trap music. Sometimes I overthink about the past. I’m not very helpful type of person but it’s still hard for me to say no. Efficiency and productivity are not much important to
me and I can avoid work or procrastinate.

NEED CONFIRMATION One song links to another all the time in my head, is this Ne/Ni

So my first guess is that is Ne because if I'm listening to Let's say "The Box - Roddie rich" I'll pick up a sound that happens at the very beginning and notice only that same element is exactly used in the song "sexy magic - Justin Timber lake"... Like it has happened all the time I struggle to describe the music in terms of actual concrete things like guitar chords etc I'll just say those guitar chords remind me of the Alice in chains album "dirt".

(Here are some memes I love so you type me better idk if they help whatever)

I'm indeed a very unique person 🫩 I swear im the kind of person that most people would beat the shii out of because I am super annoying. I tend to hang on things way too long, insist on them and make a big deal out of nothing. I tend to mock people for no reason and still wonder "Why the helly i haven't already made friends in high-school???". I like things done MY way and I've lost all my so-called buddies (That's rough buddy💔) because of that. I really want to change myself so I can fit in, but at the same time I don't want to because I think that I should be accepted however I am. Even if I do, if the people that used to hate me will come just for this, OFC ILL REJECT them because they won't deserve that better version of me. I want to be organised and I am but I still struggle a bit with procrastination. I am suuuuuuuuper competitive and I always want to be the first (OMG I SWEEEEAR IM SUCH A TRYHARD THAT I CRIED THAT I CAME SECOND AT THE END OF 8TH GRADE). It doesn't mean that if someone that i care about is better than me I'll be mad. Not at all, id actually be so proud they are my friend and praise them for their great work.

YEA YEA ENOUGH YAPPING ABOUT MY AHH PERSONALITY.

Let's see my interests. I absolutely love reading. It's to the point when I managed to read 5 books that are 300+ pages in a week just for a festival. I like history fiction books and OH GOD how much I LOVE Faizah Muhammad's "The Art of Making a Forgotten Cup of Tea" (YES THE HYPE IS REAL‼️). I am also in lots of fandoms but my main ones (the ones im obsessed with) last me around 2-4 years. My current favorite fandoms (which is weird because I usually have only one i obsess over) are Avatar The Last Airbender (my ahh is 20 years late 😭😭😭) and Alien Stage (yes, nerf me with "larper" 😞). I also like listening to music. Honestly, I don't have a favorite singer/ band or genre as I enjoy whatever pleases my senses. I also have weird and very specific preferences in food. For example the only cola I'd drink from someone is Pepsi, zero sugar, vanilla ice-cream flavour. Or the only way I enjoy eating cream cheese it's on a 20 cm whole flour tortilla with a thick layer of (specifically) Almette cream cheese and a thin layer of pesto and with some tomatoes. I am more comfortable wearing on-ear headphones as they don't hurt my earlobes, but I don't mind earbuds. I specifically wear Nivea deodorant as it doesn't make my skin itch after application. I am super obsessed with washing myself and clean my hair ut to 4 times a week. I'm considering cutting it short (I really want a mullet gng) so it's easier for me to maintain it as currently i have just a bit longer than shoulder length hair and it's very thick. But I am a bit nervous about styling it because I used to have a pixie cut 2 years ago and it took a while to grow back. I love turtleneck tops because they make me feel elegant and confident and wide leg pants in general because I want to conceal my thick thighs. I absolutely dislike mathematics as some stuff doesn't make sense to me, but I know I gotta learn it. What is weird? The fact that im good in physics and chemistry (even though I despise them) considering the fact that im PARRALELLLLLLLL with maths. I love grammar in general idk why. I just love the structure in it and I like to struggle a bit idk. I am a loyal and devoted person that cant move on from unrequited love. No matter what you do to me, if you apologize sincerely to me, I will forgive you because I know how's to be rejected and left out just because you did some stupid mistake. I am emotionally cold (as described by my family) and come off as apathetic, but i care deeply about those around me and I SWEAR that if you EVER get in trouble as my family/friend I will drag you out of that with my bare hands. Unfortunately I just want someone to do the same for me. I treat people how they treat me so you know you treat me good when I respect you.

TEST RESULTS Wtf am I ? (Cognitives functions)

Ne and Ni at the same level high Ti and Te too. Im clearly an intuitive thinker but which one idk… i always thought i was an intj because i was highly vision driven i do things only to achieve a certain goal but at the same time im not very disciplined, i get bored quicly and need brain stimulation. I rarely finish things but at the same time i love to come with conclusions after analyses, i can go very deep in a subject but im also very good at seeing possibilities… I cant decide if i use more Ni or Ne. And my need of organisation and effeciency is at the same level at my need of understanding the logic and coherence of an argument. What is sure is that im clumsy, always in my head and rarely on the present moment, i lack Se but i love to wake up this function with sports, adrenaline of competitions, games and good food/sex it just makes me feel more alive.

Sorry for my english its not my main language

NEED CONFIRMATION Can depression, ADHD, and PTSD affect MBTI?

I'm so unsure whether I'm an ENFP, ENTP, INFP, or INTP. I thought I was an ENFP, but I'm completely drained of energy and actually im alone most of the time because of my chronic depression. At school i always look that im not alone or at other Events. I would say I'm ambriverted. Even so, I'm uncertain... I can get emotional in discussions. I've also looked at cognitive functions. I'm still unsure though...

I'm 100% sure I'm 4W3 478 4SX, but how does that fit with ENTP?

Some people see me as INTP( These are the people I feel very uncomfortable around.)

But I'm too sociable for that, I love attention, and I'm far too emotional. I overthink love and friendships. I would also see myself more in a career in counseling. I also have social anxiety, but that's because I feel ugly. I always think what ithers think about me. I know I can be extroverted when I feel good and pretty. I'm really insecure, i think a lot about myself, and talk a lot about myself. So, I think a lot about myself. But I also think a lot about philosophical things. I enjoy debating and exchanging ideas on many topics. I love history, politics, social sciences, and psychology. I think about life a hundred times a day. If someone gives me a problem and I have to solve it, I come up with a hundred different solutions. People online told me im an enfp. i even met my online friend 2 times and we know each other for 4 years and shes convinced that im an Enfp. She even told me I was really extroverted. Since my dad died ive got worse too all these problems i fixed came all back.

I know i can have energy and can be funny and talk about the craziest shit. Its just so hard. I feel so wwird all the time as if there is somelne who eats me up.

Because im so insecure i cant talk with people normally anymore. As if my blood boils when i talk with them. I dont get why. I used to be the Opposite.

I had these problems before in 4-6 grade. I tought im strong now, but now everything just sucks. Everything came back and im the same old shit. I dislike this and i wanna change. I hate being so depressed.

What if one of these MBTIs is related to depression, PTSD, and ADHD? Does anything happen to the MBTI then? Could it be that my illnesses are making me so detached and I don't know which MBTI I am because I simply have too many problems?

I tought i would be Enfp. But now im just unsure bc Charakters from TV that re enfp i dont kin with them anymore. I dont see myself in them anymore, but in Rapunzel. Rapunzel is cool

To be honest, I'm a little confused about myself.

I'm an athlete (I practice judo, kickboxing, and indoor volleyball). My body is really important to me. I'm not very interested in abstract concepts, but I can appreciate literature and art. People often say I'm unemotional and "stoic" apparently just because I'm so practical, but because I enjoy literature, I sometimes seem like an overly sensitive person (or too polite 😐) to others. I don't know what my type is, and I'm not sure where to start to understand myself.

DISCUSSION Type me based off this questionnaire!

Bro got inspired by my post on Socionics sub, I got inspired by your post here and got to posting it here as well, thanks to ya!!

1) You suddenly have $10,000,000, what do you do with it?

  1. Buying a good apartment. Might as well buy several and rent em out. Anyways, home is definitely the first problem I gotta solve. Getting to live at a really good place, completely owning it, not owing payments to anyone, not depending on anyone that could come in to check on how I'm living and how's the place kept, or has some rules like "no animals", "no decorations" or whatever. As it's mine, I can live however I want there.

    1. Quitting job and dropping out of college. I guess now that I have this amount of money, I can do a favor to my mental health by stopping interacting with crazy people, their demands, expectations, awful behavior, having to obey to them for the better; not stressing over responsibilities, deadlines, difficulties, academic debts. I could finally afford sleeping well too. Actually, as I'm not interested in studying, and I only study for having a decent job that will ensure I live, getting those life-changing money will quickly turn me to dropping out. I'd actually be glad to cross it out of my life with no further problems.
    2. Trying to pursue a hobby-related career. I don't have any liabilities, so I can dedicate to it as much time as it requires for some kinda effect. If it turns out well, I could probably be successful at it, otherwise I lose nothing, because I still live good and money is not the problem. There's no "do or die" mindset anymore, and no "I tried to become a rapper, and now I'm poor and homeless with no job and no degree at 30" arc as well, I just spend my time comfortably doing what I like, maybe it leads somewhere, but I'm not going to be too upset if it doesn't.
    3. Living my best life. I can afford spending in a day the amount I'm not even able to spend in a regular day. Even if I don't make any investments, 10 millis can keep me enjoying my life as long as I'm physically able to enjoy it.

2) If you got to choose a completely useless talent to master, which one would it be?

If it being "useless" means I can't make any money out of it, then it doesn't matter a lot. I guess I'm just sticking to what I enjoy doing and maybe impressing someone with it. Maybe mastering some video game with a high skill ceiling and playing it nearly the professional level. Maybe I'd want to master shooting basketballs, like overall I'm weak and I'm bad at sports, but sometimes I go out with my friend and we do it as a background while talking. Maybe sound designing, as I enjoy doing it and sometimes it's a bit sad that I spend time doing it pointlessly with no results. If it's about something new, I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to master chess (can't find time and motivation to learn it) or drawing (I was never able to draw well. I'm 21 and I'm still drawing like a 5-7-years-old. Not a big problem of mine, but I think it doesn't do me any favors).

3. If you had to choose any fictional character to be real, which one would it be and why?

Some cute and caring anime girl with xSFJ type, so I will wife her and live happily ever after. Just kidding. But otherwise I have no idea. I don't think I've ever wished some fictional character to be real, because what would I do with them at all? Okay, maybe I'd like to have a personal genie that fulfils everything I wish for. I'm pretty sure something like this exists. I'm the strongest opponent of "everything has to be deserved" and "when everything is just handed to you, it loses the value" mentality. No, people just don't know how to enjoy life. Also, skipping working stage and getting everything straight leads to having more time and life power to enjoy it all.

4. You wake up one day and realize that nobody remembers who you are, what do you do?

I assure you, if it's my weekend, it's gonna take a lotta time to realize it. While I'm sitting comfortably with a drank and a pizza and playing something, it's rather me who doesn't realize who others are. Well, if it happens in a weekday, I'm scared and worried. It's just creepy overall, like people have no idea you exist. The realization is probably gonna hit hard. The creepier it gets when you realize that you can't get any favors from anyone, like you used to. Like there's no friends anymore, no employer that will pay you for your job, because they all don't even know you, now you survive alone. I will try to get their "memory" back, but something tells me that if it already happened, then it's something beyond my understanding. I know my answer isn't super full, because I don't even understand it fully. Just the obvious kinda things.

5. Your entire search history gets leaked; how worried are you from a scale of 1-10?

  1. 100. A lot. A lot more than I maybe should. Not because I think I'm crazy and I searched way more awful things than most (maybe a bit, but not full on psycho). The thing is more about having my privacy exposed. I have really huge problems with privacy. I had an unstable household, where everything with no ability to predict accurately could've resulted in punishment (physically too), guilt trips and scolding. That's why I have no idea what's safe and what's not anymore. I don't know what to expect with people, what exactly would catch their eyes in what they'll see, and how would they react, what's the aftermath for me, how would I recover when things get tough. If they have an intention, they could nitpick literally everything, so I'd rather show nothing, so there's definitely no unwanted attention. One time at college my deskmate took my phone out my hands and started scrolling through my contact list (nothing much, like there was my family and some of my friends, but anyways), I instantly panicked, took it back and blocked it, because he put his nose where he's not supposed to. He said I overreacted. I said next time he gets his face smashed right into this desk. He haven't done it anymore, but I'm still ready. I have a strong disdain for people who have zero education and respect for personal boundaries, and then even dare to turn their own ignorance into my interrogation.

6. A friend calls you at 3 AM and says: "Don't ask questions, just bring a shovel", what's your response?

Let's start with the fact that no one is able to reach me at 3 AM. I'm sleeping and my phone and other means of contacting are turned off. The only way to reach me in this time is probably a fire alarm, and I guess sometimes I can ignore it too. I can't sleep comfortably when there's a room for this 3 AM call. I always turn off my phone in case it rings and wakes me up, I always put fuming so mosquitoes can't wake me up too. And there still were like three or four consecutive days when I was stressed before sleeping because what if fire alarm rings and disturbs me, and I couldn't fall asleep because of this.

Given I answered the call and even have my mind clean enough to speak, I don't have the shovel, and probably I need an explanation tf is going on. If things are tough, I can get to a friend to provide moral supporting and my company if they really need it. If it's about what it's supposed to mean, I'm not going to participate in any kind of criminality. I value my friends but my paranoia would eat me alive after this. And actually my friends aren't about being involved in something like it.

7. Someone challenges your intelligence in front of everybody. Do you care?

This annoys me and I'm not going to participate. I don't care if it's about intelligence or something else, as in I don't put intelligence first or last. I'm not the one to actively defend my capabilities when challenged. Well, if I have no choice then I'm worried both about my reputation and the result itself. Actually, back then, my dad used to "challenge me intellectually" by walking into my room, interrupting everything I've been doing, and starting bombing me with the "logical problems". I'm not the one that's into all this pseudo intellectual shit, so I was always refusing to answer because I didn't know the answer and wasn't down to figure it out. But he wouldn't let it slide, going like "Turn your brain up, just think, it's easy", and I swear it was never fucking easy. I was so annoyed by this shit.

8. You can watch one moment from your future with no context, which age/date are you choosing?

What does a moment mean and what does no context mean? If it means that I get to pick like a certain date in the calendar and then see how's the day going to answer all my internal questions without asking them directly, then ok. In this case I'm picking my birthday, but after 7-8 years. It will give me the clearest understanding of whatever I wanted to understand. Who's with me, do I still have friends, do I have a partner, do I have anyone that I would want to celebrate with, what relationships I'm in with people I know now, did my current plan go well, if not then am I still happy?; if yes, then was it worth it?, do I have a job, is it paid good and am I kept there well, where do I live, does it look good, do I look good myself? It'd also be mad fun to listen to the future-me thoughts in that day, like by then I usually reminisce about my deepest wishes, were they fulfilled at least once? Do I still wish for it or I got something else to want, and do I wish at all? I don't know where the "no context" stops my idea, but that's what I do if I just can't ask any questions.

9. You have to spend an entire week handcuffed to one person, who would it be?

I hope whoever pulled out this weird ass experiment took care of how can we both afford it with always being in the same place instead of attending different jobs/colleges. In the vacuum, I'd probably choose my best friend. Well, the more I think about it, the more inconveniences arise, and there still are many I haven't thought about, so no matter who I choose, it's gonna be an uncommon experience, to say least. At least in each other's company we're both not going insane. We already happened to be living in the same place for a week, but without the handcuffs. It was fun, and I guess the fun itself isn't going to disappear anywhere. But generally it's an awful experience no matter how you look at it. At least if not talking about kinks.

10. If there's a person you strongly don't like for some reason, but your best friend does, do you let them know? If you do, how do you go about it?

Not sure. I know how do people react to these moments. If my disdain is strong enough so I can't hold it in (not what happens for no reason, there should be one), I'm telling, but I make sure to be as adequate and friendly about it as it gets. I'm gonna point at the fact that it's only my subjective opinion, that I don't force my friend to do anything about what I say, that it doesn't minimize them as my friend if they keep communicating. Their life is theirs and all the choices are up to them, and I respect every opinion of theirs, even if I don't agree. If there's no super hard dislike and our friendship doesn't get damaged by that person, I can keep it to myself, after all everyone dislikes something and someone, I can live with it.

Lemme know what you think about it!!

FOR FUN Take your toss at what my MBTI is? Why did I get Light Yagami though 🥀

Post image
2 Upvotes

Anyways, about me, I'll provide a simple Dossier on myself and why I am even here to begin with. Well what am I? A human of course, from a long trail of evolution which goes back billions of years. Okay, this makes me an ordinary living organism from a long line of successors who defeated their opposition, isn't that right?

About the point of the topic, I'm an 18(turning 19 soon) year old currently residing in the United States of America, in its biggest city alright. I may look like a close minded and dismissive person at first, but I don't ignore any information provided in the slightest. If the information and data become quite useful for my own empirical understanding and my mixed beliefs about the world, I'll readily adopt it in the not so distant future. I am a pretty modest, almost frugal person to be fair, though this won't stop me from doing unusual things to dress to impress, like wearing custom hats and leaning towards my funny bones. I'm quite a laid back person usually, though when I'm in need of success and validation I'll multi-task like a busy bee working around the clock to uphold my self preservation. Hard as it is to believe I'm might ask very judgemental questions and have very rude suspicions(my 6w5 enneagram at work), but at the end of the day my wits, guts, and heart are very open to the differences I have compared to other people, even if they're unfamiliar towards me.(As long as it isn't unhygienic in proper & formal public civil space, you know.)

People think I'm quite shy when they don't know me, but really I don't find any interest hanging out with most groups of people unless work needs to get arranged and executed. Sometimes I appear stoic, though when pushed to my limits I can become quite a bizarre emotionally charged figure. I'm currently studying economics and marketing so I can run a business one day, wouldn't that be fun? I'm not really an athletic person, and I probably never really will, though I am sometimes described as physically tough. I might not give a shit at first for any sports, but if I try I can be above average. If I ever had a passion for something, it probably would be dangerous, risky, niche, and even something as simple as good food.

Anyways, that's it for my little pitch and spiel . . .

Greetings and salute of the ations. I lowkey highkey dont know what to say lmao. I like creative stuff like acting, drawing, writing, poetry, music and whatnot. I also enjoy the sciences, particularly chemistry, and am actually pursuing a career in the engineering field. Systems in general and trying to break them down and understand them in my own way greatly stimulates my mind. I love a good comedy show, and love reading meaningful literature, and uh, yeah thats me!

Hello! Link to test for those interested to try it: https://openpsychometrics.org/tests/characters/

Additional notes about me: I consider myself calm, steadfast, inquisitive..I like ideas. I value the pursuit of objective truth, and think things must be tested. An Open person? Yes, my firmly held convictions are not easily changed, but I want them challenged. I am not a materialist: my cosmology is compatible and intertwined with the supernatural. The meaning of life is to know God, and to be known by Him. For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost. I believe in the death & resurrection of Jesus (literal not just symbolic!). My big 5, if this does not give too much away…. Tests as RCOAI

NEED CONFIRMATION ISTJ, ISTP, INTP, INFPor ENTJ? I’m Confused About My Type

Guys, I need help figuring out my MBTI. I’ve considered ISTP, INTP, INFP and ENTJ, but I’ve identified with ISTJ the most.

I like routines, predictability, and getting things done. I’m perfectionistic, demanding of myself, and have strong opinions, but I’m not always confident. I enjoy being alone, need time to recharge, and have become more introverted as I’ve gotten older.

I’m very private, dislike being the center of attention, and struggle with unfamiliar situations. I tend to overthink plans, hate last-minute changes, and prefer knowing what to expect. I’m not particularly organized when it comes to keeping my room tidy, and I don’t have a written daily routine or use a planner. Instead, I keep everything I need to do each day in my head.

I’m sarcastic, loyal to my friends, and have a strong sense of my own values. I’m also not easily influenced by others. I have a good memory, can hold grudges, and tend to isolate myself when I’m sad. I’m not particularly interested in social media or dating, and my perfectionism sometimes makes things harder for me.

What MBTI type do you think I might be, and why? I’d really appreciate hearing from someone who understands cognitive functions, because sometimes I’m unsure whether I’m actually an ISTJ.

test: https://openpsychometrics.org/tests/characters/

i was shocked by how many of these i actually really related to, so i’d say it’s pretty accurate. curious to see what it implies about my mbti to others.

for more to go off than the characters, main things i’d say about myself is i’m quiet and reclusive. very observant to the things around me. i believe actions speak louder than words and often express myself as such. i enjoy anything that keeps me stimulated; working out, video games, deep diving into my hyperfixations, etc.

CAN’T DECIDE Can depression, ADHD, and PTSD affect MBTI?

CAN’T DECIDE Type me (in detail)

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I could add more photos but I don't think someone can be typed on "vibes" alone, I'm a female and I've been trying for a LONGGG time to type myself, like, 2 years maybe?

TEST RESULTS Type my persona in 2026.

- I am mainly introverted, with no or few friends, but I mostly talk within my family members.

-I have more acquantances than friends, If I start an “interesting” conversation with people, and dismiss with “IDC”, or respond vaguely like “OK/Cool” I let people be and always remind to myself that not everyone is gonna like me.

-I have been diagnosed with a language delay at 3; after that, I experience endless and uncontrollable mind-wandering, a core symptom of ADHD/CDS/SCT, has been hindering my progress on doing homework. This also makes me panic sometimes when I do tasks asked by my family, because they insist me to do how it’s done their way. (Though I show less emotion and keep my thoughts to myself.

-I am interested in legacy and current entertainment (movies, music, video games) like GTA:SA, Half-Life 2, Minecraft, and films like Pi (1998 [B/W], Amateur (2025), The Beekeeper (2024). I am interested in listening to many old/nostalgic songs like Guns N’ Roses - Welcome to the Jungle/Paradise City/Sweet Child O’Mine, L7 - Pretend We’re Dead, and many others from the 50s/60s/70s/80s/90s/00s/10s.

-I am also interested in topics/fields like aviation (mostly airports today), history, and computers/IT. I’ll be ultimately applying for an IT career based on my college major, though my LinkedIn feed is mostly airports, because aviation is my childhood interest and I always look at the layout/master plans of many airports.

-My other legacy interests are elevators and GoAnimate, but nowadays, I watch/play less of my legacy interests like video games and movies, because I have a lack of motivation and CDS brain along with my habit of doom-scrolling, which makes it worse to focus on stuff.

-I am interested in cooking local and foreign cuisines, and also interested in trying foreign cuisines I never tried.

DISCUSSION Is this Extraverted Sensing (Se) or Extraverted Intuition (Ne)?

Post image
1 Upvotes

This is purely a question about these functions, not any specific type, since I'm pretty confused at the moment and wanted to get some opinions from the subreddit here.

I tend to explore and experiment with a lot of things. I want to provide a few examples:

  1. I've been going to a local restaurant regularly for about a year now. Anytime I can afford it, usually once or twice a month at most. I've steadily been working my way through the menu. Each time I'll try new items that I haven't had before, and then I'll mark down which ones I've liked and which ones I haven't. As well as noting my favorites from the whole menu. But I want to try everything on the menu, and then have a finalized list of favorites that I can always return to. Even before I began this process, I had determined this was my favorite local restaurant after trying several different ones beforehand.
  2. When I was younger, I used to collect movies and video games purely for the sake of collecting. I bought literally hundreds of movies and a few dozen video games whenever I had extra money. Wrote up lists of countless films and games I eventually wanted for my collection. But as I've gotten into my late twenties, I've started trimming the collections down. Narrowing it all down based off of the ones that I can see myself continue to watch and play for years to come; figuring out which ones actually stand above the rest in my mind, and discarding the rest. Same applies to any new movies or games that I encounter. I'll evaluate them based on how I feel about them now. Even if some films/games are nostalgic for me, if I can't see myself watching/playing them anytime in the near future, why bother keeping them?
  3. In my teens and early twenties, I developed an interest in both philosophy and political theory. I'd spend countless hours reading all about these ideas and schools of thought that were out there, wanting to develop a rudimentary understanding of every perspective that there was. This was mostly to make sure I left no stone unturned with developing my own views, making sure I had all of my bases covered, but also just pure curiosity to learn more about all the various things people have believed throughout the ages.
  4. Music is another big thing. I've listened to music from pretty much every single genre that's known to me. While I started off within genres familiar to me when I was younger (i.e. mostly exploring the countless subgenres of rock and metal music) - I branched out and can now listen to almost anything depending upon my mood and what feels right to me at a given time. Again, overall, exploring new things and finding new favorites.

So when I was younger, I loved exploring and collecting things for the sake of it. Anything that brought me any measure of satisfaction or curiosity was fair game. But as I've gotten older, I've started focusing more on narrowing things down and evaluating them more critically. Trying to focus on things I find truly special and that are worth spending time on.

I've just taken notice of how often I do this with anything. Food, fashion, music, movies, channels on YouTube, video games, books/authors, different exercises, and so on. Trying a variety of things, given any that catch my attention a chance, and then picking out the best ones of the bunch from my own personal experience.

I've summed up this process of experimentation as - "You keep pressing that button, you keep hitting that wall, and you keep trying new things until you get what you want."

Usually react to finding something truly special, something that leaves a significant impression on me with - *"*That's what I was looking for. That's what I wanted to see."

One last detail I want to mention too:

  • I've always cared a lot about the physical presentation of things. Especially with the way that I dress, the visual appeal of art pieces, the sound design in any given video or film, and so on. I'm very particular about those elements. The way things look, the way they sound, the way it all comes together as a complete whole. Ninety-nine percent of the time, the very first thing I notice about a person is the way that they dress, how they style their hair, how their voice sounds, and so on. It's often the first thing I comment on or make a mental note of.

In essence - I always want to find the best of things. The best possible set of things, at least for me.

What do you think? I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
