MASS EFFECT 3 The Marauder Shields moment is my least favorite gameplay in any game I’ve played
Finally trying an insanity run and I think I’m not going to finish it at the last moment. What the hell are devs thinking?
“Oh wouldn’t it be cool if the final scene is you super wounded in what’s essentially a quick time event. Wouldn’t it be cool if you have none of your powers and can’t aim and the hardest part of the hardest play though is killing one final basic enemy.”
I don’t typically enjoy playing games on the highest difficulty but I wanted to 100% the legendary edition. This alone might stop me, and it sucks. I genuinely don’t think they could have made this part less fun. It’s not even fun and challenging. It’s tedious as all hell. I know obviously some people have beaten it but this alone shouldn’t be the part that holds back a play through. Especially when you can probably go through the entire campaign barely using a gun at all, let alone needing 100% accuracy headshots

DISCUSSION Would you give Shepard's body to Cerberus?
A hypothetical situation: you are Shepard's LI and you have no idea if the Lazarus project would be successful. Would you hand Shepard's body over to Cerberus?

MASS EFFECT 1 Are the side missions and other planets worth doing before the main missions? (ME1)
I’m playing mass effect for the first time (the legendary edition on steam) and I got past the first area, and now I have the ship and can go to the main 3 other planets where the main story continues. I got really overwhelmed with the amount of planets and areas you can go to though, and it feels wrong to skip over them, but there are SO many and I’m gonna be honest I don’t care enough about the side missions quite yet to feel excited or motivated to do them.
Can I just go do all 3 main planets first? Or is it worth exploring a bit and doing side stuff before?
Edit: thank you everyone for the replies and advice, much appreciated! 😊

MODS Are there any mods that let you skip hammerhead segments?
I've always hated them, and I would just ignore hammerhead-related content, but it's required to complete Overlord. Can't find anything on the Nexus, but I could just be using the wrong search terms. Surely by now somebody would have made a mod to remove the hammerhead parts from Overlord.

DISCUSSION Most Satisfying Moments Spoiler
What are your most satisfying moments in all of the games?
Here are my top 5 (off the top of my head; I'm sure it's likely a different list, if I took longer to think about it):
5 - Telling off the Council every chance I get. I always choose the bottom right options with them, no matter how Paragon or not my Shepard might be.
4 - Killing Kai Leng (and, really, just all Cerberus soldiers in ME3).
3 - Watching the Normandy get the killing blow on Sovereign.
2 - Brokering peace between the Geth and Quarians.
1 - Curing the Genophage.

MASS EFFECT 3 My thoughts on Priority: Citadel II
I was a little hyped about this guy Kai Leng, but in the end the guy is so jobber a terminally ill drell was able to give him pause (if Thane was the same from ME2, he may have killed him). I lost respect for him already.
And I saw Udina was a traitor since the first game. I mean, this guy was so obvious.... I killed him, no remorse. Good thing Kaidan listened to reason.

DISCUSSION The Next Mass Effect Game's Chances
With all the stuff happening with Bioware and EA, between the Saudi takeover and the fact that Bioware seems like a very low priority studio to the seemingly cancelled Tv Series, do you think the next Mass Effect will even be released at all?
To me it feels like we're just waiting for the cancellation and studio closure announcement. But hopefully that's me being pessimistic

MODS Heaven or hell: Mod for LE1
I made a mod for Mass Effect Legendary Edition. It's the first mod I've ever made, and I'd really appreciate it if you could try it out.
It's pretty simple: with this mod, everyone dies in one shot, Including Shepard's companions, it's inspired by the Heaven or Hell mode from Devil May Cry.
It shouldn't have compatibility issues with any other modes, unless someone tells me otherwise.
And if it goes well, then I'll make the mod for the other games and Hell or Hell. I have plans to make a mod that adds a new mission with the Batarians.

VIDEO I Started a New Challenge Run Called "Instant Death Hardcore" This is How ME1 Went...
This is a new trilogy run I'm doing for the trilogy where bullets do WAY more damage and I basically get melted if I'm in the open for too long. And this is only on Hardcore difficulty, so I'm sure Insanity will be a lot of fun once I get there.
I wanted to share how ME1 went! Today I'm starting ME2, which is obviously the one I'm most worried about, as I'm sure you all know how brutal that game can be. I'm expecting lots of death...
If you'd like to come see me attempt to survive, I'll be streaming my journey over here on Twitch! Feel free to pop your head in or come say hi!

HELP Help with Suicide Mission
I've played through the trilogy a bunch, so I'm not new to the series. And I've finished ME2 plenty of times with no casualties at all. But I cannot for the life of me figure out why someone dies during the Hold the Line part of the suicide mission on this playthrough. I've got all the loyalties and done all the upgrades. I chose the right specialists and everything. At first I sent Zaeed to escort the crew, and Mordin died. Did some reading online, so now I've sent Mordin to escort the crew. I initially brought Grunt and Thane with me to the final boss, and Legion died during HtL. Then I brought Tali and Kasumi to the boss, but now Garrus died. I genuinely don't know what to do to make everyone survive. Am I just dumb? Is it a glitch? Do I need to restart the game? Playing legendary edition if that makes a difference
Edit: I play on xbox, so there are no mods

DISCUSSION Mass Effect Hangover - how do people cope?
A bit of background first - I've been an ME fan since the first game, and enjoyed playing each of them as they were released. I replayed them all shortly after my initial ME3 playthrough but then for a variety of reasons, I haven't been able to go back to the games until recently.
I bought and played LE, finishing it about a week ago - I can't overstate how much fun I had playing it, probably the most fun I've had played a game for the last 10 years, and it's made me remember why I loved ME in the first place.
However, the hangover is absolutely killing me. Since I've finished, I have genuinely felt absolutely rotten and depressed. I've tried some fan fic, which has helped (I'm a Talimancer and there is some great stuff out there for that) but I still feel awful. How do people cope with this? Does it last this long for everyone?
I'm not necessarily expecting any magic replies to solve this, and in a way just posting this is quite cathartic and has helped a little - but it would be nice to know I'm not alone with this.

DISCUSSION So if you side with the Geth, the Quarians are basically guaranteed extinct, right?
Considering majority would be on the ships above their homeworld, and the remainder would probably be on the Citadel, even if the Reapers lose, they're pretty much fucked, right?

MASS EFFECT 3 Shepard, Tom Clancy style, lol
My Shepard always wore this style of clothing to maintain his humanity amidst the chaos of war, but I really liked seeing him wearing it in the DLC mission when he faced the clone. It looked like another Tom Clancy-style video game lol

MASS EFFECT 3 An invented fifth ending
There are people in this world that agree with the theory of the Catalyst about synthetics and organics, and don't care too much about the unethical way to achieve it's goal. So I thought an ending for them:
<<The catalyst explains his purpose and the new solutions to Shepard, who listened very carefully. Then he says:
Shepard: "I think you are right: synthetics will destroy all organic life, and I think you are avoiding this very well. You should finish the harvest."
Catalyst: "But don't you prefer other solutions...?"
Shepard: "Just continue the harvest, and I will give you the names of the planets where my squadmate Liara send warnings to the next cycle so you can destroy them and you don’t have any problems 50,000 years from now."
The catalyst just stare to Shepard for a minute, saying nothing.
Catalyst: "Ok".
And the reapers continued their harvests until the end of time.
