Politics 2026 Election Research Guide- Candidates, Referendums, donations, election information, polling sites,
I've seen a lot of people asking for this information, so I'm stickying it so more people can find it.
Here are some helpful websites to research candidates, donations, election information, websites, polling locations, etc.:
| Website Link | Website Information |
|---|---|
| www.ballotpedia.org | Gives candidates' bio, current/past elections, opponents, campaign themes, finance summary (past elections), website themes, overviews, etc. |
| www.opensecrets.org | Covers past elections and donors, but can be useful for seeing past issues for current candidates |
| www.commoncause.org/find-your-representative | Find your districts' candidates with your address |
| www.pluralpolicy.com/open | find your current legislators |
| www.vote411.org/kansas | election/voting information, deadlines, polling place, upcoming debates, district races built around your address. Shows each candidate by race and party affiliation (Dem/GOP/All candidates for political office, etc). Vote411 is run by the League of Women Voters, so it's super ultra legit. |
| www.bluevoterguide.org/state/kansas | Lists each candidate, provides official endorsements, recommendations, positions, etc. |
| www.sos.ks.gov/elections/county_election_officers.aspx | Official List of Kansas Secretary of State County Election Offices |
| www.fec.gov/data/elections/?cycle=2026&state=KS | Lists Finance Campaign Data on the Federal Election Commission website. Gives information on reviews, donations, loans, individual/party contributions, disbursements, PACs, statistics, disclosure reports, etc. |
Many Kansas county party offices also provide information for their own candidates and local referendums.
One trick is that groups like Americans for Prosperity and similar rightwing organizations will publish their own "scorecards" for each candidate along with their positions and leanings. Generally, the higher the score, the more conservative they tend to be. The lower the score, the more liberal.
Also many candidates have youtube videos and shorts floating around as well - Townhalls, speeches, quick little monologues, discussion points, ads, etc. That can also be helpful in hearing what they say directly.

Question Domestic Violence/Childcare Assistance
If I’m a victim of domestic violence, and because of the toll that has taken on me, I haven’t been able to meet the minimum 20 hours of work requirements to receive childcare assistance. Is there a waiver for domestic violence? I know there’s a waiver for TANF for domestic violence, but I haven’t found one regarding childcare assistance.

About 30 minutes ago Trump Signed an Order Exempting Russia From Sanctions Legislation
From the New York Times "President Trump signed an executive order on Friday night exempting Russia from new sanctions legislation that Congress passed last month, offering an economic lifeline to Russian President Vladimir V. Putin"
It's almost seems like Trump is a Russian asset. I hope this is discussed at his rally in Park City, Ks

Politics Vote early! Vote NO!

Visit this link for a very good and easy to understand explanation of the amendment. Spread it around to everyone you know. Kansas voters could be in big trouble if this passes.
https://protectkansasrights.org/campaigns/citizenship-voting-amendment/
Discussion Two unrelated, but kind of related stories in my news feed.
I've lived all my life in either Allen county or Crawford county. Often the sidewalks in Pittsburg and Iola are there, just covered up by decades of overgrowth. I'd imagine it's the same in a lot of Kansas towns.
Anyway, I thought it was unfortunate and semi-funny at the same time. Mods feel free to remove if you think this is in poor taste. 🤷♂️
edit: I guess I should add the links. The KOAM story doesn't say why the person was walking down the road.

Newton, Kansas to Sen. Marshall: “Go home to Florida!”
facebook.comCampaign rally yesterday in Newton. These Kansans are so done with midwestern nice 😆
Local Community Flock camera appeared overnight on the route I take to work.
This is fucking ridiculous. Why does this shitty state & country get to track everyone everywhere? I want this shit tore down and whoever put it up should be blacklisted from ever participating in society.
This state & the monsters that run it suck ass.

Kansans! Vote for Baldwin High School!!
A small town Kansas football team needs your help!
Baldwin High School in Baldwin City, KS (about 30 minutes from Olathe) is one of the finalists in the T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights. They are the only Kansas high school and currently "rent" their football field from the local university. If they make top 4/win, they have the chance to win a $1 million facility upgrade, creating an actually football field to truly call home!
Voting occurs through October 25, please consider sharing/voting to make some small town dreams come true!

Politics Trump location: Heartland Credit Union in Park City, N of Wichita, 6500 seat capacity, Event website down
Democratic leaders are excited for the event because Trump isn’t favored by more than half of Kansans. GOP leaders are excited because the Grindr servers are still working here, unlike at CPAC in Dallas: they get to see their favorite star, Trump, and be away from their wives, who also probably don’t like Trump.
The event website went from working, to not accepting numbers then failing completely and now the link is broken and sends you to a strange page.
https://events.gop.com/events/midterm-rally-in-wichita-kansas-president-donald-j-trump-ks?utm_medium … this link is flagged by this sub as potentially misleading and scammy. Agreed.
Counter-rallies are being planned by various groups, individuals, Kansans, women, men, and more. Despite what the dwindling bots say, anyone can protest at anytime.
So bring your mom and other people. Can try to reserve tickets as well and rally outside.
