PSA Flock Map

Mapquest has added a feature (under layers) that shows where all the flock cameras are located.

Not sure I wanted to know! 👀

If you aren’t using Mapquest, they didn’t bow to the Lake America or Gulf of America that Google, Apple, and Waze did.

Events Asian Festival used to be epic

I hesitate to post this because I have nothing but support for this event...but what's the inside scoop on the Asian Festival being so much smaller this year? I've been going for maybe 15 years and it's always been lively and packed. This year, there were way fewer vendors, and there weren't any small vendors at all. There used to be student groups, church groups, Grandmas, and other small groups selling interesting food and this year it was all local restaurants (who are great but still). The program was half what it usually is, there were no lion dances, and attendance was so low. This has always been my favorite Wichita event and this year barely resembled the event I look forward to all year. (Last year was a small noticeable slide but this year it was hugely different.) What gives?

Food Barn'rds - Local "fastfood" joint

Does anyone else really like Barn'rds? I know it can get a little pricey, but they are local so I don't expect them to be able to compete with chain pricing. I just really like so much of their food I've tried. Their fries are some of the best in Wichita (imo) and I like their BLT. I'm addicted to their Pasta Salad and wish I could figure it out at home (it's tri-colored rotini, tomato, onion, cucumber tossed in.....something). I put "fastfood" in parentheses above since they aren't greasy but they are definitely fast.

Any one else like (or dislike) Barn'rds?

Random Dented door

• Upvotes

If anyone knows these 'lovely people', especially the girl in the blue dress, please let her know I didn't appreciate the door ding on my new car (less than 2 months old). Not cool. And yes, I have video of her hitting it with her door (white SUV).

Lost/Found Animals Found - Grey Poodle Mix

Post image
22 Upvotes

Found Pawnee & Maize, near Pawnee Prairie Park what appear to be a Poodle mix. The pup has a collar but no tags and appears to have been groomed semi-recently. DM for more information, please be prepared to demonstrate ownership via images prior to my releasing an address.

The dog does appear to have rolled in feces - I do not currently plan on bathing him, he/she is a bit skiddish and we don’t want to provoke him, but will see where the day goes. He is contained in our backyard, but we have other animals and are not comfortable keeping him longterm at this point.

EDIT: Found - belong to out of town grandmother, grandsons accident left it out.

Discussion Are there any places around that actually scrub the feet during a pedicure? My rough heels are ruining my satin sheets.

• Upvotes

I'd do the foot thing myself with a scraper or some such thing but I'm totally blind and have also had eczema on the bottoms of my feet so I'd rather have a pro.

There's nothing worse than having eczema on the bottoms of your feet!

If anyone made an attempt to show to our protest today please send me a message! We had a later start than the one that was originally posted and I'm sincerely sorry! It most definitely won't happen again! We had a small amount of people still hanging around when we started but it turned out to be a huge success I believe. So much love and support was shown to us from the public! In other news, we have a picnic tomorrow afternoon as well as another protest scheduled for next Saturday! Message me for details! I'll be posting throughout the week!

In Search Of Home decluttering/estate sale service recommendations?

Hello!

My husband and I moved back to Wichita some months ago to help take care of my mother in law. It’s becoming clear that, as much as we had hoped otherwise, she will not be returning home. We are both pretty overwhelmed trying to sort through the decades of lovely things she accumulated in her home, and it can’t possibly all stay. I found a company online called Caring Transitions which sounds perfect but I think they’re going to be too far away to work for us (I sent them a message though). What they offer that I like is they’ll help you sort through all of your loved one’s belongings and decide what to keep and what to sell or donate and they also do estate sales/selling your items. Having someone who knows what they’re doing assisting with these matters would be an enormous help! Can Amy of you recommend any people or companies? Thank you!!

Discussion What is the process for transferring a title of a car to someone else?

I’m trying to give someone the title of a vehicle I own, I’m not charging them any money for it, I just want them to have it.

Do I just need to sign and fill out the back of the physical title? Then the receiver takes it to the DMV?

I tried looking it up online and I saw that if you’re giving it away for free it’s considered a gift and you have to fill out an extra form for that?

Also will the receiver have to pay for new tags? Or can the license plate and tags it has just be transferred entirely to them. It’s currently up to date on its registration.

Discussion Moped/Scooter laws

So, apparently you have to register and insure little mopeds in Kansas? Legally anyways? I picked up a non running one for free not long ago and got it going as a project, and was going to use it to zip to the corner store and stuff for funsies. Looking into it though, it seems like I need to have it plated and insured, and to do that you need a title. Like any vehicle, really.

So why are there so many running around without tags with impunity? Is it just not enforced or something?

Discussion ICT Delays?

Does anyone have any good way to see the data on flight delays involving ICT?

I’ve flown probably 30x the last 6 months, and at least anecdotally almost every single one of those flights was delayed at least one hour, sometimes more.

It has to be something about flying into ICT in the evenings because I’ve never experienced constant delays like this before.

Discussion Question about The Cotillion GA Pit

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hello! I'm considering going to see Everclear at the Cotillion next month but I'm curious about the difference between the General Admission Floor and General Admission Pit. Is there a little roped off section for the pit and is is supposed to be a mosh pit or just a better place to stand like almost like vip/preferred section? And is it typically crowded/packed? I didn't see this section for other concerts so I'm curious. I'm 5'2 and trying to figure out what is the best ticket to ensure I can see the band.

Trump rally not in Wichita after all, but still close by

The president is going to a suburban arena for his rally Monday.

October 16, 2026 10:23 AM

President Donald Trump’s campaign rally for Sen. Roger Marshall will be at Heartland Credit Union Arena in Park City, just outside Wichita.

The location was added to the event details Friday morning on the Republican National Committee’s website.

Heartland Credit Union Arena, formerly Hartman Arena, is at 8151 N. Arena Drive near I-135 and 77th Street North. It’s a 5,000-seat arena north of Wichita.

Trump’s visit comes as Marshall is locked in a bitter campaign against Democratic challenger Adam Hamilton, pastor at the largest church in the state. The close race has put the Kansas Senate race in the national spotlight as a battleground state as Democrats look to potentially win the Senate.

That’s unusual because Republicans have won every Senate race in Kansas since 1932 — usually by a wide margin.

Marshall, a loyal defender of Trump, has slipped in polls as president’s popularity has continued to fall across the country with rising gas prices, inflation, a prolonged war in Iran, trade ”
