Also they might release it.

If you care about jailbreaking, I strongly recommend against updating to iOS 27.2 when it drops, as 27.2 Beta 3 is rumored to have patched an SPTM bypass.
Feel free to spread the word on this.
While this doesn't have anything to do with what Calif showed off, it could still be used for a jailbreak on it's own (of course support for >26.0.1 requires a new kernel exploit).

This should cover pretty much every case to consider in terms of upgrading, as well as explaining why. Most people should just stay on the version you're on currently, but you can check it with this chart.
27.0/27.0.1 doesn't necessarily need to downgrade, it's just preferred so you don't lose OTA delay.

After seeing their tweet i immediately bought a 18 pro max and picked it up this morning set it up and turned off all updates including app updates turned it off and put it back into the box it came in and put it in my closet for when the day comes a jailbreak is released (hopefully soon). Until then i will daily drive my iPhone 15 on 17.0 using Trollstore and Dopamine 3 to be semi-untethered.
This has been an amazing month for me jailbreak-wise. First the ps5 jailbreak and now this all thanks to AI!

Add support for time-synced lyrics for local media within the Apple Music app
Song files must have lyrics saved in tags (in LRC) or TTML format)
Available for free on Havoc
The tweak should support all devices running iOS 13-18. However the tweak is very complex internally and may be broken on some versions. Please contact me if you have any issues. iOS 26 is untested as of now.
----
I know this will probably be a niche tweak but I made it because all the third party music apps I've tried on iOS have had some drawback that makes them annoying to use. Too bad Apple doesn't care to improve the experience either

its been a while since I pulled this out (moved to Nothing Phone 3). Pumped up for it to release if it releases for the iPhone Air as well!

I mean I guess the answers obvious but would trollstore remain installable separate from a jailbreak?

I saw macPad post over here the other day, and it made me wonder - if you can run macOS apps on an iPad, what could be easier than running iOS apps on iOS?
Well, I was right and wrong. Yes, you can start up any binary from a later iOS, unchanged. But every bit of system frameworks required substantial patching to make them compatible.
This is still work in progress, and there's still much more work to do. I won't go into details, but it is done to the point where you can take any iOS 18 app, launch it, it won't crash, and it will have a fully functional backend and UI. System capabilities are fully functional, too, but hardware drivers need more work. GPU is up, tho
I'm using iOS 18 at the moment, because there's a matching distribution for iP XS, but I'm sure it can be pushed further to 27.0 and beyond, once we have enough compatibility research in place.
Unfortunately, this whole project is very individual and targets an exact firmware and kernel from my specific device, even though it targets the API layer. But it will be open sourced nonetheless, in hopes that any newer device running newer kernel will need less patching than mine and that much of the logic can be reused.
If you're one of those individuals willing to contribute and burn your compute and time, get in touch

Hey everyone,
I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max (model A3526) running iOS 27.0.1, and my priority is keeping the best chance of a future jailbreak.
I saw the flowchart recommending downgrading to 26.6.1 RC to preserve DelayOTA options. However, the post also says that users on 27.0/27.0.1 don’t necessarily need to downgrade.
For my specific device, would you recommend staying on 27.0.1 or downgrading? Since I’m already on the version used in the Calif demo, what practical advantage would downgrading give me?
I understand that support for the 17 Pro Max hasn’t been confirmed. If downgrading is preferable, is 26.6.1 RC still signed for my device, and would I need to erase it?
Thanks!

SafeDel saves you from a small disaster: deleting an app by mistake and losing all of its data. It adds a menu that removes only the app itself and keeps its data (everything you did in the app, sign-ins, settings, cache…).
Nothing fancy here. It simply brings iOS's own **Settings › General › iPhone Storage › Offload App** to the Home Screen.
What it can do:
Tested on iOS 15.0.2 (RootHide) and 17.2.1 (Dopamine, rootless). Other versions untested: if iOS doesn't look the way it expects, SafeDel turns itself off instead of guessing.
