iOS Earth Collector - made an idle game where you collect the whole world, city by city (iOS, free)

Thumbnail gallery
• Upvotes

hey all, a friend and I just put out our first game, Earth Collector.

the idea is you collect the world. you start in one real city, send a little team of travellers to its landmarks, and once you've visited them all the city is yours. then you ride a bus, train or plane to the next region, fill up countries and get passport stamps along the way.

the maps are real (built from OpenStreetMap) and covered in pixel fog that clears as you walk. theres chests and items hidden under it, and your scout pet keeps painting while you're away so theres always progress when you come back.

theres 2,500+ real cities in almost every country, so its pretty big.

free, no ads. theres a premium currency but you earn it in game too (regions, passport stamps, daily bonus).

iOS only for now sorry android folks 😅

its brand new so honest feedback very welcome, esp on the first 10 min and pacing. discord: https://discord.gg/8KaA6Tr5hX

AI disclosure: the code and some in-game text were written with help from AI coding tools (Claude), and this post was drafted with AI help too. art: made by us in Figma, with help from AI tools. the maps are real OpenStreetMap data.

Discussion What are some of your favorite progression mechanics?

I'm currently working on an incremental game, but I'm unsure what kind of progression system would best fit it, or what kind of progression systems are even enjoyed.

There are so many out there, from random upgrades (like Bills Must Be Paid's Card system & ShaAAATUP), to the classic skill tree used in tons of games, to a bunch more I probably haven't heard of.

I'm wondering which one was the most enjoyed, and that's what brought me here. And so I was curious: what is your favorite type of progression system?

Steam I'm publishing my second game on Steam. Added some laser turrets and area drills. Please let me know your thoughts!

• Upvotes

I'll be publishing my game on the next Steam "Next Fest", on February, but a demo is already out!

This game was born as a "Mystery Drop Games" project, published on Itch.io. I thought I could do better so I'm releasing Idle Digger Bots Deluxe with more content, mechanics, etc. The video shows some gameplay. Hope you like it!

You can check it out here!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5186090/Idle_Digger_Bots_Deluxe/

Cheers!

AI Disclosure: I used some AI to make textures, concepts and drafts. Then I edited and animated it manually to polish the final game look and feel. As a solo gamedev, I used AI to assist the development process.

Development An incremental fishing game

• Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to announce that I finished the development of the demo of my game, and it's playable in both Desktop and Web version on the itch page:

https://mannyverse.itch.io/go-fishin

The demo let you play through the first 2 islands and try some of the abilities, discover more than 30 species and continue when the game will be out so you can actually continue from the demo point.

Right now the game is only available on itch, but in future will be available on steam (the idea is the have the game ready for the next 'Steam Next Fest' and do the full release).

Let me know what you think and if there's some problem.

AI Disclosure: AI helped me review some part of code, some placeholder in the early states and the Spanish Localization (mostly UI related, fish's asset pack was already localized in Spanish).

Rainbow city is a incremental progressive kinda little city builder thing where you smash a crystalline sparkling rainbow core and little pixelchunks of color fly off and you collect them and use them to upgrade the city and smash the core harder! it has: PUSHERS, SKYLIFTERS, CARRIERS, HAMMERCHOIR, KICKERS, and so much more. i hope youll check it out and enjoy.

gelwater.itch.io/rainbow-city

Orbital Breaker 2 was inspired by a many games about breaking bricks, i guesss you could say its just an evolution of Arkananoid at its heart, but a modern retelling, you can get THOUSANDS OF BALLS AND THE FPS STAYS BUTTERY. you should experience this game its really fun to watch , leave feedback for tuning progression !!

u can find more of my incremental games on gelwater.itch.io, like Pongfront, and Orbital Breaker 1!

have a great time, i hope youll enjoy my games, and please feel free to leave any kind of comment thats constructive or positive or even both !

ai is used in the coding of these games which includes some aspects of their visual presentation and sound engineering.

Discussion What draws you to (or turns you away from) semi-idle games like Lootun?

Hey everyone,

I wanted to get the community's thoughts on semi-idle games—specifically titles like Lootun.

If you enjoy these types of games, what keeps you hooked? On the flip side, if you usually skip them, what puts you off?

For instance:

  • The Pros: Skipping tedious micro-managed combat while still getting deep, satisfying systems for gear optimization, inventory management, and party synergy.
  • The Cons: Needing to keep the game running actively on your PC defeats the purpose of an "idle" game, and offline progression rates often feel way too punishing or neglected.

Where do you stand on the balance between active management and passive gains? What are your biggest pros and cons for this subgenre?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Update IDLE REALMS: a free online idle RPG in pre-alpha now with world boss fights, a halloween event, indefinite action timers, and more!

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Hey folks!

Idle Realms is an online idle RPG - gain exp, loot, items, idle time, and more. We have a small 'twist' with Realms, entirely new replicas of the game that are completely separated from the main 'global' realm that are hosted by guilds.

I wanted to share some of the changes I've made since last time based on a lot of feedback from you folks!

  • HALLOWEEN EVENT! 🎃
    • We've added a fun reward to any action you do: get a 'Sealed Spirit', release it and all players on the realm doing an action get 'souls', you can spend the souls in the limited time Halloween shop on cosmetics, or you can try your luck at 2x, 3x, 10x, or 25x'ing your souls. We'll be running this event until the start of November!
  • Actions now run indefinitely whilst you are active in-game
    • Some folks found it hard to kick off a new action - the new default is much simpler and we hope a bit more generous for those who want to idle. The idle timers mechanic now counts as an offline timer instead, in other words, how much time you idle for when you log off or close the tab
  • Improved combat interface
    • You can now see all the participants in world boss fights and damage splats. We're working on improving the combat and builds for the long run - any feedback on this please do let us know
  • A new in-game suggestion box
    • For the long run I wanted an easy way for people to submit their ideas and give feedback as well as allow other players to vote on ideas that they think are good. Things that are good candidates for the roadmap and are reasonably well defined and popular will be considered very seriously by us (the devs)
  • We now have a (hopefully reasonable) privacy and terms page as pointed out in our last post. We've also worked on refining the intro tutorial sequence to be a bit snappier and quicker to get you in-game.

Enjoy! You can try it out here for free: https://idlerealms.com

Any feedback please do let us know and we'll try address it as best as we can.

AI disclosure: All art and in-game assets are hand drawn by our artist (aka Fruity). Any art that is not drawn is from free asset packs and will be replaced. We're particularly proud of the hand drawn NPC and World Boss art!

Discussion Why is every single incremental game on steam tagged as an Idler

I love idle games. I like having something going on in the background while I'm working, and an idle game is generally much less distracting than a tv show or podcast. I like making gradual progress towards easily definable goals. If a game can be reliably idled for 8ish hours, I can even set it up at night and then use the fact that it needs my input to help me get up in the morning, since I am otherwise terrible at that.

It isn't easy to make an idle game. The player's decisions need to be interesting and varied, so that when they are interacting with the game it feels important. The goals need to be meaningful and feel fair for the amount of time it will require to reach them. The majority of idle games I have played have been mediocre at best, and even the ones that I've really enjoyed tend to have some amount of flaws that either have to be studiously ignored or, if possible, modded out.

Which brings me to my main point: it is already quite difficult to find good idle games, and it is really not helped by no one seeming to understand what games the "Idler" tag should be applied to. Bills Must Be Paid is a 2-3 hour long game in which you have to manually aim a hammer at piggy banks. Scritchy Scratchy has you manually scratch off lottery tickets. Chef Knight is an action game. None of these games will make progress if you leave them running to go to the bathroom, let alone over night. If I try to search steam for Idle games, the overwhelming majority of games I find don't belong there. It's even worse than the Vampire Survivor clones and the Roguelite tag, because while it was just as annoying trying to sort through those to find good Roguelites at least they had the actual gameplay mechanics to justify tagging themselves like that.

Anyway, that's my rant. If anyone has any good idle incremental games they want to recommend in the comments, I'll take them - it's going to be a long wait until Melvor 2 comes out, and Deskrawl turned out to be a massive disappointment.

Development I'm working on incremental strategy game where settlement building meets Total War-style battles , Looking for feed back on the demo

I just released a demo of Army Factory, an incremental strategy game where you develop a small village into a powerful military settlement. Build and upgrade structures, manage resources, research technologies, train regiments, and conquer other cities to expand your territory.

I'm looking for feedback on a few things:

  • Is the concept easy to understand?
  • Does the game feel strategic enough?
  • How would you like the battles to work?

Originally, battles started automatically every 10 minutes, but some players felt this could interrupt the gameplay. I've since moved toward a campaign system and am considering adding raids and exploration.

My main concern is that the game might drift too far away from being an incremental game. I'm a strategy player myself, so I tend to lean toward deeper strategy mechanics, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on finding the right balance.

What would you change or add?

Try the demo here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5094230/Army_Factory/

Thanks for checking it out! Any feedback is appreciated.

Discussion Little vent post about something trivial

I was playing an incremental game the other day, and needed to manually click on the same upgrades over and over again each time I did resets a mind numbing amount of times. So overall, pretty standard stuff for an incremental game. Then, after a few more minutes, I finally got the automation/upgrade keeping at reset upgrade. And it was called "Finally : Keep X upgrades". And upon seeing this it made me think about something I've seen like a thousand time in incremental games, the fact that the developper themselves joke about how tedious getting an automation was.

And look, I understand that sometimes it's justified for the pacing or the game and all but 90% of the times, if you as a developper know that your game is getting tedious because the automation comes too late....why aren't you doing anything about it instead of including a snarky commentary? It's not much but I really dislike this quirk of incremental games developing.

Hello Dear Incrementalers!

Over month ago I reached out to you guys in search for playtesters to advice me on improving Kopernicus: Incremental Suffering.

We did some intensive test and project rebalancing and reiteration and I would like to say in my opinion it changed for good (and it does show up in the rating).

Let me thank you from the depths of my warm heart🫀 and let me reasurre you that everyone included could be found in 'Crew Credits' section (and if by chance I forgot about somebody don't hesitate and let me know).

I know that Steam Fest is really crowded right now, but if you want to try it for yourself you can find it under this link

HTML Evermarch: An idle party raiding game I've been making solo(browser, mobile web, open alpha)

Hi all,

I’m Click, and I’ve been spending a bit of time making a game after being a player for years, putting in the ideas I’d want in a game.

It’s a free browser idle RPG where you run a small party of heroes who fight, loot and level up while you’re away.

It’s in open alpha, so expect rough edges, and progress may be reset before beta.

Play: https://playevermarch.com (desktop and phone, you’ll need to make an account. I’m looking at a Steam launch later too.)

What you do

  • Pick one of nine classes (Warrior, Paladin, Priest, Mage, Archer, Assassin, Warlock, Shaman, Berserker) and fill out your party with companions. Party up with other players, or play solo with a merry band of companions from the tavern.
  • Clear zones and zone bosses, then move on to Hunts, Raids and a Guild boss, and take on world bosses with other online players.
  • Chase gear: tiers, rolled stats, gems, runes, and Uniques that change how your class’s build works.
  • At level 40 and 80 you unlock keystones, which each bend one rule of how you fight.
  • End-game is Fractured Shards, levelled maps that go past level 100, set to how hard you want to push and how much you want to be rewarded.
  • Crafting to bring your own build to life.
  • PvP Arenas and Leaderboards to track your progress and achievements against other players.

Just patched

A big balance patch just landed. End-game zones are tougher, capped stats like crit chance and attack speed roll lower, so hitting a cap takes real gear and choices, and every role got new gear lines and skill tags to build around.

What I’d most like feedback on: how the first hour feels, and whether it’s clear what you’re working towards. I’ll be in the comments, but feedback in our Discord would be great too, or through the in-game bug report tool, which you can also use for suggestions.

AI disclosure: The art is made with ChatGPT, and I use Claude to write a lot of the code and help with GitHub and hosting. The game design, balance, vision and what goes in are mine.

Update I'm a software developer and spent my free time over the last year making a bottle collecting idle game with RPG elements for android and ios, the beta just came out!

Thumbnail flasche-bitte.de
0 Upvotes

For a bit over a year I've been working on this game in my free time. It started as a hobby and turned into a real passion project, and the beta went live a few days ago.

It's called "Flasche, bitte!" (Bottle, please) You collect bottles (some of them are really rare), fight bosses with them, trade with other players and slowly build up your little village.

It's free, has no ads and no tracking. It's not pay to win either. There's an optional subscription, but you can't buy bottles or power with it. The game is playable in English and German (cause I am german) and is available in these countries:  USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and all of Europe.

There are already over 100 active players, but a lot of it is about playing with and against others, so the more people join, the better it gets! Since the beta is new, everyone is still pretty early. If you try it, I'd really like to hear what you think, especially if something is confusing at the start. Enjoy! :3

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6756493234

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yyoshi.flasche_bitte

**AI disclosure:** The bottle illustrations are generated with Nano Banana and then cleaned up and normalized by me. I also use AI to review my code. Game design, balancing, the world and the ideas behind it are my own.

Development I made a browser idle game where you run a café for monsters

Hi all! I've been building a small idle tycoon: you run a café whose customers are vampires, slimes, yetis and other monsters. Serve them, upgrade the kitchen, unlock new rooms and recipes, and it keeps earning while you're away.

Play in the browser (desktop and mobile, no download): https://playgama.ai/play/hupiehwhw3sv2i

It's still early. I'd really like to know where it gets slow or boring, and which upgrade you'd want next. Thanks for playing!

AI disclosure: The character and background art was generated with Google's Flow image tool from my own style references, then cleaned up, cut out and assembled by me. The code was written by me with the help of an AI for checking my mistakes (Claude); game design and balancing are mine.

Steam Drillbound was released on Steam! Like, 2 weeks ago, it was just too hectic for me to post anywhere really

I've wanted to make an incremental game since I played Nodebuster back in the summer of 2024. I started Drillbound's development around April 2025, and after 1.5 years of (almost) solo development it's finally out!

I say "(almost) solo developer" since I didn't make the OST myself, my friend Naerim did so. If you like Porter Robinson, you are going to like it, believe me. You can find his spotify linked down below.

The game has sold over 12k copies and has more than 200 reviews in the first two weeks, but I intend on making a post diving a bit deeper into these kind of stats a month or so after release in case someone finds it interesting.

AI disclosure: No art, no vfx, no sfx, no music, no design, and somewhere around 100 lines of code out of +30.000. I solely use AI to make very specific engine and efficiency inquiries.

Discussion Building an idle game directory. Any devs here want to add their games?

Thumbnail top100idle.com

I've been building Top 100 Idle, a toplist for idle and incremental games, and I'm hoping to get more games on there now that the site is in a decent place for release.

If you're working on one, I'd love to see it. Feel free to share it in the comments, or submit it to the site if you'd like a listing: https://top100idle.com/dashboard/games/new

It's new, so I'm also interested in what would make it useful to you as a developer or player. I love adding new features, especially API features and other tooling.

Discussion Should idle/incremental games be free-to-play, or is there room for premium games in this genre?

I've been thinking about how games in this genre are monetized, and I'm curious about what the community thinks.

Some of the best idle and incremental games are free, while others charge an upfront price. At the same time, Steam has plenty of games that seem low-effort or quickly put together, sometimes using AI-generated assets, yet they're still being sold for money.

Does this reflect an attempt to make quick money, or is charging for an incremental game perfectly reasonable regardless of how it's made?

What makes you willing to pay for an idle game? Is it depth, long-term progression, polish, the absence of microtransactions, or something else?

And do you think free-to-play has become the expected standard for this genre, or should premium games be just as common?

Update Grow a Rock 2.0: grow a pebble, smash buildings, and break bosses apart (free browser demo)

Free browser demo: https://dorivoltgames.itch.io/grow-a-rock

I'm the developer of Grow a Rock, an incremental destruction game about making a tiny pebble heavy enough to flatten a city. Tap to grow it, spend ore on upgrades, then roll through obstacles that used to stop you. You start out losing to an acorn and work your way up to trucks, vending machines and buildings. The rolling sections are active, with jumps and downward slams between upgrade runs.

The 2.0 update gives bosses three breakable sections: bottom, middle and top. If the opening hit doesn't finish one off, you get 15 seconds and three hearts to take it apart. Staying on the ground, short jumps and held jumps let you target different sections. Glowing weak points take 3× damage, and breaking a lower section can collapse the parts above it.

All nine upgrades now have five visual stages, so you can see your progress on the rock itself. Boss HP and progression have also been retuned, and the results screen tracks broken sections and weak-point hits.

The demo includes the first two areas, with no ads or account required. English and Korean are available. The full browser game is $2.99: https://dorivoltgames.itch.io/grow-a-rock-full

Android version on ONE store: https://onesto.re/0001010958

It reached #15 in ONE store's New Releases chart in Korea. Availability varies by region; the itch.io demo runs in a browser.

New 2.0 trailer: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/htmQHaUOM7U

If you try the demo, I'd especially like to hear whether the upgrade pace feels good and whether the boss weak points and jump targeting are clear.

This is a corrected resubmission of my earlier post, which was removed for an incomplete AI disclosure.

AI Disclosure

Code: AI was used for code review, debugging and implementing fixes, including input/jump handling, collisions and gameplay/UI behaviour. AI-generated code changes were incorporated into the game; the usage went beyond review alone.

Images/art: Generative AI was used to create image/art assets used in the released game and promotional materials, including cover imagery.

Music: The background music tracks were generated with AI.

Sound effects: AI assistance was used in the audio/code workflow. Gameplay sound effects are synthesized procedurally by the game's audio code.

Text/translations: AI was used for game/store-text translation and localization, and drafting/editing store and promotional descriptions. This post and its disclosure were also drafted with AI assistance.

Other development assistance: AI was used for QA/test scripts, build/release utilities, technical troubleshooting and preparing promotional material.

Development I made an incremental games tier list maker (and here’s my own tier list of 330 games)

Post image
923 Upvotes

I’ve been seeing a lot of tier lists here lately. It’s pretty interesting how different everyone’s tastes are!

I’ve played hundreds of incremental games and always wanted to make my own tier list, but never wanted to go through the hassle of finding all the images and putting everything together. So I figured, why not make a tool for it?

And if you’re like me and always wanted to make a tier list but doing so was too tedious, you can now use this tool too!
https://nullfinch.github.io/incremental-tierlist/

Also feel free to contribute to repo or copy it and improve it.

It has 330 games with artwork already included, plus a few extra features:
- Ratings and playtime data from Steam, galaxy.click, IncrementalDB, itch.io, Google Play, and the App Store, shown right on the games.
- Search bar to easily find games and track what you’ve played.
- Export your tier list as a PNG to share.
- Your personal tier list saves automatically in your browser, or you can save/load a JSON file.
- You can also click games to take personal notes and mark whether you have played them.

The ratings aren’t live, just a snapshot from my latest data pull (a few minutes before this post).

Would love to see more people’s tier lists, so feel free to share yours in this thread.

And let me know if any games are missing. Should be easy to add them!

AI Disclosure:
I used Gen-AI to assist with coding and gathering the ratings data for this tier list maker.

EDIT:
Based on all the comments and DMs I've received, I added these games to the tier list:
A Usual Idle Life, Cradle of the Dark Brood, Idle Dyson Swarm, Idle Idle Game Dev, Idle Reincarnator, Idling to Rule the Gods, Immortal Life, Knights Run, Lich Baby, Lone Tower, Melvor Idle 2, Scapewatch, The Monolith, To the Stars Idle, Tower of Hero
(hope I linked the correct games for all of them; obviously since I have not played them I cannot rank them... YET!)
Feel free to DM me more games to add (and sorry if I missed any from comments)
Also, removed Godus from list since calling it incremental was a stretch

EDIT2:
I also added:
Dragonscape Idle, Fracture Field, Harvest Dice Profit, The Board is Yours
I will continue adding games based on comments/DMs, but I will stop listing them all in edits. This blew up more than I expected, cheers everyone!

EDIT3:
This is a lot of games and many of my ratings were from memory. People have pointed out that some of the ratings (especially very low ones) are unfair. I noted a few games and will give them another try! The ranking in the picture for this post is static but I will update the live tier list in a few days.
