I’m aware of all the flak Arrowhead is getting recently, and they deserve it. I’m aware of all the players wanting mods and changes and being generally upset about the game state, and they deserve to be that way too. But this dumb drawing when my diver thaws keeps me going. This whole community is made up of good people, that’s never changed, and I hope that one day we can return to stuff like this. Where we are known for rather saving a crappy planet with no strategic value than getting gas mines, or diving a middle of nowhere automaton planet for the memes, bringing unity between two real world superpowers to defend a made up planet, or having a developer that changes a game based on real feedback and becoming a model for the gaming industry. That’s why I dive, and I hope when you next thaw you glance at this too, or when you kid, or when you roll out an update, and remember what made this game such a success and standout in the gaming community. o7

I saw a few concepts of a Helldivers 2 and Half Life collab in this subreddit so I decided to make my own concept on it. This concept features specifically combine armors from Half Life Alyx because Alyx has more diversity in armor sets than in Half Life 2. My personal favorite in this concept is the manhack acting as both a seeker grenade and a guard dog variant which it seeks targets but returns to you if the enemies are killed but it can also be destroyed by enemies with ranged weapons so it's not a very overpowered item since it auto locks onto enemies, a shot from an illuminate overseer staff will one shot it, but is great against lesser armored enemies such as voteless, small bugs, and smaller bots. I was thinking about adding a hopper mine as the ultility but the manhack/vicerator is too iconic from the half life universe to not use it, also we have too many mines in the game already. The player title badge I made myself using paint.net.

Also this would feature an actual helmet passive, but instead of it being an actual game changer it is completely cosmetic, allowing your helldiver to sound like a combine soldier with a Vocoder. While not overpowering the helldiver with two different passives. This could also eventually lead to helmets having integrated items such as night vision, built-in flashlights, and more fun things like a custom HUD display or colors.

The reason why I decided to go with full combine gear instead of rebel gear is due to the combine actually having full body suits. I would have put a Metro Cop as light armor but I felt like the overwatch soldiers fit the look more. If they ever put legendary warbond items into the super store I would definitely put the armor set in there. Also the custom names for the armor sets feels more appropriate for helldivers 2 to do like they did with the Kasrkin armor and the ODST armor other than just naming them "Ordinal" and "Wallhammer."

My idea for how this would fit into the lore is that these guys would be like truth enforcers but cranked up to the max in their ideals of dispensing liberty and democracy while keeping dissident talk to a nice 0%.

Also the CT-17 Adjudicator armor is supposed to be medium armor, forgot to state that in the photo. And yes the CT-17 designation is a reference to city 17.
