Question Which Coins Have the Highest ROI Potential?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m looking to invest in physical gold and would like to hear your opinions.
Which gold coins or types of investment gold do you think have the highest potential for return on investment (ROI) in the long term?
Would you recommend popular bullion coins like Gold Britannias, Maple Leafs, Krugerrands, or American Gold Eagles, or are there other coins that offer better potential returns?
I’m interested in both capital appreciation and resale value, while keeping premiums and buying/selling spreads in mind.
Which gold coins or products would you personally choose for the best potential ROI, and why?

Speculation Gold at 4200

• Upvotes

This may have been brought up before so forgive me if it has. Does anyone else find it a little intriguing that gold is hanging around at $4200 a while here considering it sits on the books at $42. Maybe it's a psychological level

So the USD has retained only 1% of its value since 1973

Question Decent companies to buy gold coins from?

Greetings all,

I'm helping a family member who wishes to put their money into some gold. They believe gold coins, as opposed to bars, are the way to go to hedge their money as they believe the collectible value of coins will increase at a greater rate than the spot price of gold.

That being said, they don't know much about what coins are collectible and would increase in value over spot and would wish to rely on well known companies that would give them a good price and good advice on which coins to buy.

Any recommendations for such a company?

Gerald Celente started buying gold at $166 an ounce. Asked him what he's doing now.

Interviewed Gerald Celente of the Trends Journal recently. He's been buying gold since it was around $166 and says it remains the number one safe haven asset. No price target, no timeline, just still bullish.

The more interesting part was his view on what replaces the dollar. He thinks BRICS launches a digital currency backed by gold, with China leading it. China had a huge gold buying year.

He also gives the figure that the real US debt is about $126 trillion once Social Security and other obligations are counted, rather than the $40 trillion usually quoted, sourced to Fortune.

51:02 - bullish since $166
42:26 - the gold-backed BRICS currency idea
07:27 - the $126 trillion debt figure

Worth saying he refused to give any dates. Asked for a 2027 trend and he said it's too early to forecast.

Swapping for Gold

I’m taking a 19 ct tube of silver buffalos for what is hopefully 1/4 oz of gold but could be 2 1/10 pieces. Is there anything I should look out for when going into the LCS?

I’m assuming it’s a pretty easy transaction but I want to not try to do anything dumb.

Shitpost Does anyone watch Bald Guy Money ?

Does anyone watch bgm, what are ur thoughts 🤔, I bought last January and now the prices are back to when I purchased. One thought that I had is what if 5 -6k is genuinely the top , like what if gold cant physically go higher cuz at 6k we would already have major collapse ,bailouts, dollar replacement.. including premiums buying at 4k to get to 5k isn't much of a gain , the only reason why I think this cuz some stackers claim 10k gold like that wouldn't be a disastrous time nd they would be able to profit when the world around them is worried about food and water ...

I tried purchasing throught ampex and i didnt have any luck due to over-verification and long shipping times. My money got tied up too until the banks finally re-called it.

I just finally decided to buy at a local gold dealer. Ended up paying about $4,295 per OZ.

now BEFORE you guys get mad for paying over spot.... i TRIED so hard finding good deals online, but the over-verification process left me fatigued and disgruntled. I had to call the bank so many times to verify my identity and prove to them i am me. I had to visit my local branch and get my account un-locked.

I think its funny how the banks will happily give you a 24% APR loan on a $60,000 used truck, but flag a little gold transaction and make you wait weeks to purchase.

the convenience and peace of mind of purchasing local made it worth it for my specific situation. I know im not supposed to buy over spot, but FAHHHHHHHH these banks are just too damn annoying.

what would you do?

Trying to figure out exactly what this is. The old holder says Alexander III “the Great” gold stater.

Can anyone help identify the specific type, mint, and approximate date?

Weight: 8.336 grams
Diameter: 18.4–18.5 mm
Thickness: approximately 3 mm at the highest point

Photos of both sides, the edge, and the old holder included. Appreciate any insight!

Question Why is this coin so "rough", for a lack of better word?

Hello fellow gold collectors!

Recently I purchased a new large Franz Iosef gold coin. The coin was purchased from a goldmith I trust, though he acted as an intermediary for me. The thing is, this latest coin has a weird, glossy, almost rough surface. While the coin feels in every other concievable way like the coins I have from earlier (weight, temperature absorbtion, shape, size), and I don't seriously doubt its authenticity, I can't understand why this one has such a glossy surface. It's looks like it's been shaved by sandpaper. Can anyone comment as to why this difference is present? All my other gold coins and bars are otherwise shiny and reflective as hell. The first coin im the video is an older coin for comparisson, the second coin is the new one in question.

Thanks for your insights!

I had a pretty great weekend so far went to an estate sale three garage sales and this antique mall. I was kinda nervous being i spent 300 on this metal and I don't have lots of money, living pay check to pay check. Does anyone know if their is value to this other than melt. It weighs about 45 grams. I carefully took the center part out which wasn't very difficult and it was 5 grams and the rest of the metal was 40 grams Original case, is marked 18 on each individual part of it.

I was looking through my parents(deceased) change drawer and I found this gold coin. I don’t know, it looks pretty cool. I think it’s somewhere around half an ounce, very cool looking though. I guess it’s a keychain. Any thoughts
