Finally pulled the trigger🥹
I’m very happy with my bar, I will cherish it and hope times never get hard enough to sell it. I’m very proud of myself for buying when the dip happened

Found gold at an estate sale!
I was at an estate sale yesterday that advertised only having “costume” jewelry. I decided to check it out anyway, and I found fine jewelry had been overlooked and mixed in with the costume. Each piece of jewelry was only $5, and I purchased a 14k gemstone ring, an 18k box chain, and a cartouche pendant that I believe might have the Egyptian hallmark for 18k on the back! The ring weighs 2.2g, and the chain and pendant weigh 5.26g together.

Shitpost Goldfronts
Have you all heard of Goldfronts?? For a measly 3x the spot price of 1 gram of gold, you can get this amazing piece of artwork printed out, signed, and laminated by the creative director and master of artistic prompts. But there is more! It comes ductaped to a 1 gram PAMP gold bar. Invest in the future or past of gold or money or art, whatever!

Question I’ve had this box from my grandfather for about 10 years, it was locked and he gave me the key(which I lost during my twenties). And this was what I found inside yesterday. I have no clue about gold.
The necklace piece stood out the most to me, the clasp says 14k, but I’m unsure about the decorative gold around the coin. I’m sorry I know nothing about this.

Should I diversify into platinum and palladium or keep focusing on gold?
I’ve become increasingly interested in exploring other precious metals alongside my stocks and physical gold and silver, which I’ve been building up over a longer period and have made above average profit on so far.
I’m now wondering whether it makes sense to start investing in platinum and palladium as well, or whether I’d be better off using that money to increase my existing gold and silver holdings.
For those with experience in precious metals, what would you do in my position? Do platinum and palladium offer worthwhile diversification, or are gold and silver enough for a long-term strategy? I’d be interested in hearing your experiences and opinions.

Update on brooch. Took it to a coin shop, XRF tested around 17.3-17.5 karat. Cleaned it up a bit.
It really is an odd piece. At first I thought it was gold filled because some spots were showing that looked copperish but acid did not make it fizz, I tested another known plated piece to make sure my acid was still strong (it is!).
The two squares you can see on the engraving...the base layer appears to be rose gold and was plated with yellow gold. This area was acid tested before cleaning as well, no change. This is what threw me off and
The "petals" with the pearl (real pearl too) is solid yellow 18k, and was riveted to the piece.
On the back you can see where this yellow gold plating has worn from polishing. The darker areas were spots I could not clean easily.
The little "balls" on the top and bottom have pitting from what I think is hand-casting.

You can see on this spot of the square where the yellow gold plating peeled off long ago. This spot was also acid tested. You can see the acid darkened it, but did not fizz or bubble whatsoever. Real gold will darken with acid, but it won't ever fizz or smoke.

Look beyond the ticker price.
When the "smart" money who has been playing with paper contracts for gold and silver for eons realize their show is coming to an end, the current events is what you see.
I am sure by now you realize there are more paper contracts than physical gold and silver. It almost became a FIAT where they could create a paper out of thin air without having the metals to back it up.
They could do this forever because not every one of those paper traders expect to trade it for gold. Most of these speculators just want liquidity and they don't even care if those contracts they buy will have gold or not.
Until one day, when the hands who want gold wants to exchange their paper for the real gold. So they go to this "smart" money and say we'd like to get the real gold because i no longer feel confident with the fiat system. But guess what, there are not enough gold to match the paper contracts.
With CB all around the world buying physical metals and shanghai banning paper markets, to let gold discover it's real pricing, this "smart" money sees the end of the paper trading. If you have a lot of paper that's soon going to be worthless, what do you do? You sell them asap and trade it in for physical. So yes the price of metals has been crashing because of this dump. Those who are patient will be rewarded. As long as you have physical gold and silver and metals, don't look at the price screen.
One day truth will be revealed soon. Until then keep saving. Unless you have absolute faith in paper dollar and government will save you. Good luck.

Can I order gold from Cookson to France for personal use?
I’m interested in buying gold casting grain from Cookson to melt down and make my own jewelry, purely as a hobby and for personal use, not for selling. Can I order gold directly to my home address as a hobbyist, or do I need to be a registered jeweler or have some kind of permit?
Also, are there any customs checks, declarations, taxes, or other regulations I should be aware of when ordering gold in France?

Question Real/Deal?
Question do you think this was worth 1000 Canadian and you think it’s real?
