Modding I made a mod to fix CK3 communism

It brings back the 1.18 collective lands and provide for the poor. I got tired of waiting for someone else to do it.

Edit: The inheritance feature for the Peasant Leader trait was removed from the Collective Lands tradition and the Provide For The Poor oath used to give peasant leader to your character and Collective Lands to your culture upon completion. These features were removed entirely in 1.19 onward, this mod reverts them to the 1.18 version where they still existed.

I wanted to have my nephew on the throne so I made England into a elected inheritance type.

I suspected people would swarm to him due to the prestige of my dynasty and that he is the most powerful duke.

Turns out this fucking nobody countess is next in line for the throne

CK3 I just love making custom royal courts

Post image
431 Upvotes

I've been making custom royal courts for CK3 for a while now, and although sometimes it's a little bit difficult to do it, I just love it, and it's become one of my favorite things to do when I mod the game.

For the people that want to read my story about this, thank you! For the ones who just want to see the courts, just look at the images and their captions so you all know a little bit about what you're watching! Anyways, thank you! Well, it all started a few years ago when I saw that an AGOT submod (now called Legacy of Valyria) was looking for 3D artists, so just for fun I decided to join and help out with some of the initial models. During this time, I also joined the team of the mod After the End and started picking an interest in the courts after Drago (another 3D modeler for LOV and the main AGOT mod) created an amazing court for the mod.

That's when I decided to try making my very first court just for myself. With a bit of technical help from Drago, I managed to get it working, and although it wasn´t as awesome as I wanted it, I ended up enjoying the whole process way more than I expected. After that, I made the Oval Office court for After the End, followed by the Martivia court for LOV, and eventually my second personal court, where I wanted to try something much more ambitious and at least it surpassed my expectations when I finished it.

There's just something really satisfying about bringing these places to life, from the initial ideas, the 3D blocking of the court, the creation and layout of the furniture, characters, lighting and all the little details that give each court its own personality. I especially enjoy experimenting with different styles and trying to make each room feel unique. I thought it would be nice to share some of the courts and props I've worked on over the past two years. Hope you people like them!

I'd also love to hear what kinds of courts you'd like to see more of in CK3. Personally, I think I would like to see a court room inspired by the aesthetics of the Vatican!

And on a side note, I've recently decided to open up to commissions for custom courts, thrones, and other related assets for the courts, whether it's for a modding project or something personal for your own playthrough. So, if anyone has an idea they would like to bring to life, feel free to DM me!

This is the Martivia court I worked for LOV! It's definitely one of my favorite projects. It took me some time to achieve what I wanted to show but I'm really proud of the end result!
A closer look at the custom map table I made for Martivia court. It's based on a map of Valyria and its surroundings. This was a real pain in the ass to make, but I think the end result was exactly what I wanted to do. I really think sometimes a single prop can add so much to a room, and this was definitely one of my favorites to make.
The Oval Office court I made for After the End. This was a really fun one to work on since it was my second court. I think one of the challenges I had for this one was the actual form of the court (I wasn't as good with 3D modeling back then as I am now) and the stained glass.
The first court room I made. I really struggled making this one and although the lighting and props aren´t as good as I wanted them to look, I´m really proud of the result.
This was my second personal court (and one of my most ambitious courts I´ve worked on), and with this one I had a clearer idea of what wanted to include in it, so it was easier to do the initial blocking. For this one I used some free to use models (mainly for the statues) and just retexture them. To be honest, this is one of my favorite courts and although this time I encountered some challenges with the lighting of the court and the limitation of the engine, I loved the end result.
Another view of my second personal court.
And another!
This is a closer look at the throne I made for my second custom court. It was inspired by my late husky called Vader. I made this whole court and throne in his honor.

CK3 We need a By God Alone tutorial character

I can barely understand what to do and has no idea where to go towards trying to mend the great schism or even become Pope. What to do as a clergy, or Pope, or ruler trying to manipulate the Church? Playing as a bureaucrat or a nomad is much more intuitive and well presented, the options for church play are so hidden and obtuse

Discussion We need more Head of Faith doctrines, now that heads of faith actually do things.

Having just Spiritual/Temporal/None worked fine when pope was just issuing and revoking excommunications and called crusade and nothing else (and if faith had neither Communion nor Armed Pilgrimades, head of faith had literally nothing to do), but with BGA its not enough.

Spiritual doctrine should be split into something like Pontifical (head of faith has near absolute power over church, including over tenets and doctrines, and can more easily denounce divergent rites as heretical), Concillar (hof still has some executive power, but cannot swap or ban or permit tenets or doctrines without ecumenical council), and Autocephalous (hof is just first among equals, and chaplains of independent rulers or/and highest ranking clerical title holders are fully in charge of their realm/region spiritual affairs, and new rites are cheaper to make if head of your rite is in different realm).

This would put end to current weirdness where every religion can only have Hollywood Pope or Henry VIII in charge, or be Monty Python Anarcho-Commune, and tries to square historical religious hierarchies into those cliches without regard for how they actually worked.

Help High partition law not appearing

Post image
328 Upvotes

I'll keep it short.

- I'm level 3 crown authority

- I completed the Heraldry innovation

- I'm a clan empire

I want to change to high crown partition but as seen in the picture it's not appearing as an option.

What am I missing?

Was going for restoring Carthage pre-schism and i look up to italy and see that AI had formed the Kingdom of Romagna which then later was absorbed by the Byzantines. I guess rome was the most popular house and with his election to emperor he made it a roman rite theocracy?

R5: Shouldn't Louis the Younger have claims to Lotharingia, Bavaria, and Aquitaine as well as his current claims, since all three kingdoms are already created when the game starts?

I was having a chill game playing tall in Italia and I got kind of bored so I did some conquering in North Africa and next thing you know I created the Holy Roman Empire, entirely localized within Africa, headed by a Gay Permian Nestorian Grand Patriarch. Ck3 is fun.
