Afr | Help Is this scape adequate for my mbuna? First time keeping this many.
This is a 75 gallon tank with 20 varying sized Mbuna I've had up and running for about 3 weeks.
Some days the biggest Kenyi and smaller Yellow Tail hide in the upper corners of the tank, terrified of a couple of the other fish.
It's not just one big mean boss problem fish.
Is the scape insufficient? More caves? Taller structures to block sightline? Overstock the tank even more? I really wanna keep it simple with just rocks and gravel ideally but open to ideas.
I'm also a bit worried about taking up too much water volume with rocks if I doubled the amount in the tank.

SA | Help How do I catch julii marlieri fry in a heavily planted tank?
We have fry hiding out in the left side of the tank mostly. There is a BIG daddy and a few mommas guarding a few different sizes of fry.
We want to take some of the bigger ones to the LFS, but can’t figure out how to get them without dismantling the tank completely.
Any ideas welcome!

General help An EBA, angelfish, and a geophagus walk into a bar...
I have a 75 gallon tank with an EBA, angelfish, and a geophagus tapajos (plus some assorted otos and corys). Now that I'm responsible for the tank I feel like I need some help.
I read that tapajos should be in groups of at least 5. I also read that they need soft water, and where I live the tap water is pretty hard.
I don't particularly want babies, so I'm hesitant to consider adding an eba or angelfish.
Do I add fish? Rehome fish? Keep it as is?

CA | Help Making my convict cichlid happy
hi everyone!
I posted a little while ago about how to move my exs fish that I suddenly ended up with, and how to set up his new tank. I am very much a beginner and got a lot of helpful tips, so thank you for that.
now he’s been here about a week, and much to my relief he survived the move and his new setup. i got the tank pretty well cleaned, and kept about half of his old water and gave him half new.
at first he was swimming around all over the place and we were both happy campers. however the past few days he’s been less active and hiding more.
i kept the tank set up as close to how it was as possible, but now that we’ve settled in I wonder if there’s anything I should do to make him happier and more comfortable.
he went from being in a windowless room and spending a lot of time alone and with little light, to my home with lots of natural light, and myself and my two young children. I do tell them not to be loud or rambunctious around him because they can scare him, but they are kids so it is louder here than his old home. could being in such a different environment be stressing him out?
other than that, is there anything I should add/remove from the tank to make him happier?
he moves the plants around, and sometimes at night I can hear the faint sound of rocks hitting the glass so maybe hes unimpressed by my decorating skills lol. I also wonder if the cave is a bit small for him. he was a baby when i got it for him/my ex.
thanks everyone!

Discussion I feel like I’m watching our recently adopted kittens lol! Just curious if anyone can identify male vs female lamp multifasciatus? Only had them a day total of 6 in a 20 gallon long. Only species in this tank is the current plan.
I know females usually grow to about an inch and males a half more. Out of the 6 only two are smaller. We’re trying to start a little colony as this is the main reason for my question about determining gender.
I’m not sure if this is just scuffling for territory or male and female. Again we’ve only had them for a day and they finally are becoming acclimated now. These 2 just keep going after each other and locked jaws for a quick bit. Nothing harmful though.
