BIIGGGG shout out.

To the fine fine gentlemen in the grey charger that was being an absolute menace going down Dorchester Rd from North Charleston towards the peninsula (I turned off at 526 going towards James Island)... It would be a complete and utter shame if someone with some authority followed you the entire way with their dash cam rolling, capturing your plate, every single car and truck you ran off the road, and the absolute wild speeds you were going. Even more so, it would be even worse if that info was already sent over to people who just HATE that type of thing and will be taking care of it in their own wonderful manner. Fingers crossed no warrants or probation either cause lorddddd, the charges that will be read off that new arrest warrant will be soooo fun to listen to.

Looking for Witnesses – Hit-and-Run at Lewis Barbecue on Sunday, 10/18

Post image
• Upvotes

Good afternoon! I hope this type of post is allowed here.

My son was at Lewis Barbecue on Sunday, 10/18, and someone hit his car in the parking lot and left without leaving any information.
The managers at Lewis have been great and offered to review their camera footage, and CPD has taken a report.
I’m posting here in hopes that someone may have been there that day and witnessed what happened or noticed anything that might help identify the vehicle or driver.
I’m sharing a picture of the damage. Unfortunately, this was more than a minor bump, and the damage is significant.
If you were there that day or have any information, please send me a message. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.

Mex1

When did Mex1 cut out the free chips and salsa? I can live without being able to order individual tacos without sides (platter with side is apparently now standard) but the lack of chips and salsa is a real bummer.

“The Union is Dissolved," an 1860 South Carolina Civil War broadside published in the Charleston Mercury announcing SC’s secession from the union sold at RR auction on Oct. 14 Reported by Rare Book Hub.

Catalog notes for Lot 469, Sold by RR Auction on Oct. 14. It sold for $15,344. High presale estimate was $4,000

Rare original broadside from the Charleston Mercury newspaper, printed in Charleston, South Carolina, on December 20, 1860, 12.75 x 23.75, announcing South Carolina's repeal of the Constitution of the United States and the state's secession from the Union.

The text reads, in full: "EXTRA: Passed unanimously on December 20th, 1860. AN ORDINANCE / To dissolve the Union between the State of South Carolina and other States united with her under the compact entitled "The Constitution of the United States of America."

We, the People of the State of South Carolina, in Convention assembled, do declare and ordain, and it is hereby declared and ordained, That the Ordinance adopted by us in Convention, on the twenty-third day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, whereby the Constitution of the United States of America was ratified, and also, all Acts and parts of Acts of the General Assembly of this State, ratifying amendments of the said Constitution, are hereby repealed; and that the union now subsisting between South Carolina and other States, under the name of "The United States of America," is hereby dissolved.

THE UNION IS DISSOLVED!

Affixed to a slightly larger cardstock mount and in very good to fine condition, with repairs to edge tears and intersecting folds. Printed as an "Extra" edition of the Charleston Mercury, the nineteenth-century equivalent of a breaking news bulletin, this remarkable broadside announced one of the defining political events in American history.

Shortly after South Carolina's Secession Convention unanimously adopted the Ordinance of Secession at 1:15 p.m. on December 20, 1860, the Mercury rushed this special edition into print.

The ordinance repealed South Carolina's 1788 ratification of the United States Constitution, making it the first state to secede following Abraham Lincoln's election the previous month and setting in motion the secession of ten additional Southern states, the formation of the Confederate States of America, and, less than four months later, the outbreak of the Civil War at nearby Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor.

According to the consignor, this example descended through the family of Philip Augustin Clayton, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury of the Confederate States of America, passing from his granddaughter, Mary Weems Clayton, to her son, Ronald Rogers of Atlanta, Georgia, who received it as a gift from his mother in the 1960s

Beerfest tips

Going to Beerfest for the first time and I was wondering if anyone had tips on what to expect?

I’ve gone to one in Charlotte and the Charleston one looks a lot larger. Any tips on how early to get there? Waiting in line looks brutal from what I’ve seen and I want to be able to maximize 3 hours I paid for.

North Charleston Used Car Shopping

I am interested in people's experiences when shopping to purchase a used vehicle from one of the many options in North Charleston and the Tri-County. AutoMAXX, Dealerships, Small Car Lots. Who to avoid, actual good places??

I am going to be looking soon, and would like to know more about the area and car sales because I lived elsewhere last car I bought.

I don't feel like cooking this year. Who does an easy package take out meal or a family friendly dining out? We have some food allergies to work around and I am trying to avoid having to make 3 versions of everyone's favorite sides.

Park Mobile

• Upvotes

Just downloaded the ParkMobile app that our city council members are forcing us to use, and guess what, there is a payment fee for usage. So, now on top of the regular payment that you have, there is a small fee that goes to this company for the convenience.

What was wrong with the parking meters? Why are we paying a private company to manage this money?

This is just another instance of regular people being nickel and dimed at every turn. It’s obscene and we should make it be known!

Comment your opposition to the plan if you want on the next city council meeting

Attorney needed

Looking for a SC-licensed attorney (business or contract law) for a small unpaid invoice dispute. I’m a small business owner and did subcontract work for another company under a written agreement. After the work ended, they confirmed in writing what was owed, then stopped paying and are now disputing it. The amount is under $5,000.

I’m hoping to find someone for a consultation, contract review, and possibly a flat-fee demand letter, with guidance on small claims if needed. I have all documentation organized and ready.

Where can I find a solid pair of work boots I can also wear line dancing?

I work for a living. I need a pair of boots that can get muddy.

I also enjoy line dancing, swing dancing, country dancing, dancing in general.

Where can I get a solid pair of work boots that might fit the bill for both?

Who is the most modern veterinarian in the area?

• Upvotes

As in all things, there are different schools of thought on vet care. We are looking for a second opinion on a cardio issue for our dog, and specifically from someone who has a more modern mindset powered by modern data.

My instinct is to go to Patrick downtown, but im open to any suggestion for vets that are particularly good with cardio and spine.

Thanks!
