Buying Professional seller rejected my cancellation request

Hello everybody, I have used cardmarket for years, both as private seller and buyer. Some times I made some mistake on the order, and I never had an issue the seller accepting the cancellation.

But this time, I was buying some deck boxes and some sleeves, and I realised the sleeves and deck box combination I ordered won't fit the whole deck.

I requested the cancellation detailing the issue, and the seller still rejected the cancellation.

I know I can return the order and get my money back, but I would have to pay the shipping back to another EU country.

If I don't pick up the package and it gets returned by the shipping company, will I get refunded?

Thank you everybody

Selling Automatic arrival confirmation hasn't happened

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with a Cardmarket sale and was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.

I shipped an order using tracked shipping through Trustee Service. Initially, the tracking showed that the package had not been delivered, so I contacted the buyer to discuss what to do if the package was returned to me. I offered to resend it if that happened.

Then, suddenly, the tracking updated to show that the package had been delivered the very next day. Since then, the buyer has stopped responding to my messages.

I requested automatic arrival confirmation on October 15, and Cardmarket displayed the following message:

"If the buyer doesn't intervene, this shipment's arrival will be automatically confirmed on 22.10.2026."

It's now October 23, but the order is still marked as "Not yet arrived". I haven't received any notification explaining why the automatic confirmation hasn't happened.

I'm wondering whether the buyer might have intervened or opened a dispute, but I have no way of knowing. The tracking shows delivery, yet my funds are still being held.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

- Does automatic confirmation sometimes take longer than the stated date?

- If the buyer intervenes or opens a dispute, does Cardmarket notify the seller?

- How long did it take for your funds to be released in a similar situation?

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

I compared Cardmarket condition prices with completed eBay sales. LP does not mean the same thing

• Upvotes

I have been analysing Pokémon card prices by condition, and the gap between Cardmarket and eBay was larger than I expected.

For context, I work on Flipzi. We looked at 16,842 price responses and spot-checked 892 stored values across 196 randomly selected cards against the source data.

For English Pokémon cards on Cardmarket, the median asking price for each grade was this share of the Near Mint price:

Cardmarket grade Share of Near Mint price
Excellent 76%
Good 50%
Light Played 38%
Played 27%
Poor 22%

We then compared that with completed eBay sales in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Cards described as Lightly Played sold for roughly 77% to 81% of the Near Mint price.

In other words, eBay Lightly Played behaved much more like Cardmarket Excellent than Cardmarket Light Played. Anyone valuing the same collection from both marketplaces can get a badly distorted result if the condition names are mapped directly.

Language had less influence than I expected. The individual card changed the size of the condition discount far more than language did, and Japanese cards followed almost the same overall condition ladder as English cards in this sample.

A few limitations:

  • Cardmarket figures are active asking prices, while the eBay figures are completed sales.
  • eBay condition comes from the seller's wording and was not independently verified.
  • Sparse observations and implausible asking-price outliers were excluded.
  • These are sample-wide relationships, not fixed discounts for every card.

For people who buy or sell on Cardmarket regularly, does the 76% figure for Excellent feel about right? And when comparing with eBay, do you mentally treat eBay LP as closer to Cardmarket EX?

All my wants list disappeared

So I keep track of all the cards missing for grandmaster sets in Pokémon and I had 20+ wants lists for different sets.
It’s a pain in the ** to set them up but once theyre set up it’s pretty easy to use and find the cards.

I just logged in to order some cards, but all of my wants lists disappeared. Just gone. Has anyone had that happen before and is there a fix?

Selling Doubts about selling a lot

Hi everyone, I'm considering selling my collection of all Yu Nagaba cards. I bought them individually to private sellers some years ago and now I consider selling all of them. Maybe the questions I'll make are obvious, but since it's a pricey set, I don't wanna take risks.

I noticed there is the label "YU NAGABA × Pokémon Card Game Eeveelution Full Promo Set" to sell the full set (without the Pikachu) and I was wondering if I can sell them here or if that is meant for some kind of product that included them.

Another doubt I have is that only one of the cards has a tiny scratch I'd label as Excelent. If I clarify in the Comments is enough? Better to not sell the whole set in there if not all the cards are NM?

Thanks everyone!

Buying Trustee service and tracking but no code provided?

As in the title; I pay tracked shipment and trustee fee on higher priced purchases. In which case I expext the seller to share the tracking code upon shipment. I've noticed in some cases they do not provide this. Now I have a sale underway internationally since 4 days and no code provided yet. I pinged the seller via a CM message asking for a tracking code but no reply yet.

This should be standard practice right to just add the code to the order details...? I do this whenever I sell.

Buying Bad day

https://www.reddit.com/r/CardMarket/s/5qEnB9CTR3 Okay, small update.

It has been a week since I received my cards and nobody from Cardmarket has replied to me.

I also got messages telling me it is pointless because Cardmarket always sides with whoever brings them the most money, and since this was a shop selling thousands of cards, I had no chance.

Result, Cardmarket simply ignored me.

Eventually I got fed up and broke the two toploaders to get my cards out. As I suspected, some cards right in the middle are damaged, not by me, I was careful, but because of how the seller packed the order.

Luckily the most expensive one is intact. The Miraidon ex at 40 euros has a cross on it, but that is probably a printing error.

Out of the 13 cards, 5 are really damaged and 3 are slightly damaged, but very slightly. So in my bad luck I got "lucky". None is seriously damaged except one, and of course it is one of my favourites I was waiting for, the Malvalame AR, which took a hit that really pisses me off.

Anyway, still no reply and having understood I had no chance, I accepted to pay and put an end to this. So I left a bad review where I explain with few details because there is not enough space. I still gave a good rating because I had no language or model issue. But I put two unhappy smileys for the overall experience and for shipping/protection of the cards.

And when I validated, do you know what happened? My review was judged too negative, so it is kind of deleted. It is there, but nobody can see it and it does not count towards the seller's rating.

They say everyone is entitled to make a mistake, which I completely understand. But deleting a review because I had a genuinely bad experience is just disgusting, because the guy can do it again as many times as he wants without any problem, since negative reviews are invisible and do not affect the percentage.

Some will tell me it is not that serious, and they are right. But getting ripped off, complaining hoping to get help, and getting blown off with the comment you wrote being deleted really pisses me off. You get scammed, you ask for help from the people who are supposed to help you, but since they protect the big sellers you get blown off. So you complain, and someone comes and censors your complaint.

I would not even be surprised to see my post get deleted.

Sorry, but this is just shameful and I am going to name the shop because it is just disgusting.

I remind you that I paid 340 euros for everything in NM, cardboard included. I received a bubble envelope with cards shoved into toploaders, and some of them damaged, so not NM. The seller absolutely did not deliver my order according to Cardmarket rules and according to my shipping choice. He is the one who did not do his job properly. But for Cardmarket that is not enough: they refuse my negative review because... because... because Cardmarket always sides with those who sell the most.

I will still go and complain about the disrespectful behaviour of Cardmarket, which protects those who do not respect Cardmarket rules because they sell a lot and therefore bring money to Cardmarket. Basically, it is disgusting.

Help regarding extra fees

Hello, first time poster here!

So the title summarizes the situation pretty clearly.

Ordered and paid a big batch of cards from different vendors.

I live in Portugal, an UK seller sent me a message claiming that I need to pay an extra fee since the changes of "EU regulations that came into place on the 1st of July". I want the cards but also don't want to be ripped off. Is this something common or am I being scammed?
