Buying Cardmarket's outdated website is an advantage for buyers

• Upvotes

Honestly, I’m kinda glad Cardmarket doesn’t have an app and is still stuck in the browser-based, old school era. It makes it much harder for bots to constantly snipe underpriced listings like they do on eBay and Vinted.

I’ve found so many absolute gems for cheap, partly because the website isn’t user friendly, so fewer people bother digging through listings, and partly because most sellers don’t even upload photos. It’s a bit of a pain to use, but that’s probably part of what makes it so good for bargain hunting šŸ˜‚

*I live in the Netherlands

Bought from 3 sellers from Europe (Austria, Belgium, Germany) and 2 from the Netherlands. All 5 deliveries did not arrived.

Been over a month. I've bought them all within a week or so and address been correct, payment all done and orders shipped. Over 20 shipments had been successfully delivered in the same address before too.

Selling Buyer claims he didnt get the cards

Hello everyone,

I’m a relatively new seller, but I’ve already received several positive reviews.

Now, here’s my problem: A buyer claims that they haven’t received their package, even though they paid using Buyer Protection. However, according to DHL tracking, the package was delivered to the buyer in person.

As soon as the buyer informed me about the issue, I immediately submitted an investigation request to DHL. Unfortunately, I forgot to inform Cardmarket about this.

The buyer has now opened a case, which is currently under review. However, I’m unable to respond to the ticket because it apparently has already been resolved.

Out of desperation, I opened a separate ticket myself.

Do you have any idea what else I can do, or will Cardmarket now handle the investigation and I simply have to wait? What happens next?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Meta How does CM Support decide whether they force a seller to ship a card or when they just cancel the order from the buyer?

See Subject Line.

The rules clearly state that a seller needs to ship a card or get a replacement and ship it but more often then not they just canceled my order as a buyer in favor of the seller.

Is this dependant on the mood of the CM agent or have i overlooked some rules ?

Seller won't ship my €1,800 PokĆ©mon card, What can I do?

Hi

I order a Gyarados Gold Star in good condition for €1,800 on Cardmarket on Septemper 30 from a private seller in Italy.

After waiting over a week, the seller told me he had already sold the card somewhere else and forgot to remove the listing.

The problem is that the card has increased significantly in value, and buying a similar one now would cost me much more.

Cardmarket Support says they will cancel the order and refund me if the seller doesn't ship it by October 23.

I understand I'll get my money back, but I feel it's unfair that the seller can simply cancel a completed purchase without any consequences.

Can I do anything besides accepting a refund?

Any advice would be appreciated

Tips to get faster shipment ?

Hi,
I'm new to CardMarket and I was wondering if there are ways to get faster shipments.
I'm talking both customer and seller side.
What is your average day to get a card once you paid?

I got huge orders this week from multiple ā€œwhaleā€ accounts, at least they seem like that to me. I was just wondering if this is a thing?

First time seller

Hey everyone,

I'm registering my account into a seller account.

I have a lot of product that is just sitting on my shelf collecting dust for a while. But what really pushed me to sell was a really big hit I pulled yesterday.

What are some do's and don't's you'd advise?

Also, for a very high-value card, what would you recommend me do if there is a buyer? I read it's good practice to film yourself packaging the product, any other tips?

Thanks!

Cardmarket’s new T&Cs – Is listing identical cards separately with individual photos allowed?

Hi everyone,

I’d like to get some clarification from more experienced Cardmarket sellers regarding the updated General Terms and Conditions, specifically section 10.4.

The relevant part states:

ā€œMultiple listings of the same or substantially similar items are prohibited if intended to artificially increase visibility on the platform. This does not apply to multiple copies of the same item listed at the same price.ā€

Link to the official Cardmarket General Terms and Conditions

I currently have several copies of the same card listed separately, all at the same price, with individual photos of each physical copy. My intention is to show buyers the actual card they will receive, rather than just using the standard card image.

However, I’m unsure how this fits with the updated rules.

There seems to be a practical issue as well: if I list multiple copies together in a single listing, I don’t see an option to attach a separate photo to each individual copy. As far as I can tell, individual photos are only practical when each copy is listed separately.

My questions are:

  1. Is listing each physical copy separately, at the same price and with its own photo, allowed under section 10.4?
  2. Does the exception for multiple copies listed at the same price cover this situation, or could separate listings still be considered an attempt to artificially increase visibility?
  3. If individual photos are not possible when listing multiple copies together, what is the recommended way to sell cards individually while showing their actual condition?
  4. Does it make any difference if the copies have slightly different conditions or defects, even if they fall within the same general condition category?

I’m trying to make sure my listings comply with Cardmarket’s rules, while also giving buyers an accurate representation of the cards they are purchasing.

I’d appreciate any clarification, especially from sellers who have looked into this rule or contacted Cardmarket Support about it.

Selling Listing holo cards for PokƩmon tcg.

Just had the first person of nearly 200 orders message saying they ordered the reverse holo of 2 cards instead of the holo which I sent.

They were tagged with reverse holo but the comment on each listing had "holo".

Anytime I'm browsing myself or going to listen there's always alot of regular cards with a comment "holo" or like me they've tagged it as reverse holo but commented on it "holo.

Am I in the wrong for this and need to sort their order and edit all of my other listings? This is the first time someone has said anything.

First time selling. The card is in a penny sleeve + toploader, then one card on each side (outside the toploader) + bubble wrap. Should I ditch the bubble wrap and use two pieces of cardboard?

Buying Time Limit for Investigation when Shipment didn't arrive

Since I'm currently in this dilemma for the first time I want to say that it is really disheartening to have to wait an additional 2 weeks maximum for the investigation to be done.

Seller set the Order to "shipped" at the last day possible: 7 days after ordering.

Seller didn't give a tracking number even after multiple messages and of course nothing arrived: 14 days until the investigation can be started.

And now the seller gets an additional 14 days to provide the tracking number, that I didn't get, to Cardmarket before I hopefully get my money back or the package gets finally sent.

The worst part is that it's probably because I ordered something that is now 30% more expensive and the seller just doesn't want to or doesn't have the stock anymore.

So in total that's at least 5 weeks to wait until I get my money back because of a dishonest seller.

Didn't even give a reason or explanation in the messages.

EDIT: Oh and I just checked and that sellers account is now set to "On Vacation".. of course.

Risk buying 110€ NM vintage Pokemon card without pictures?

Hi, I am new to buying on cardmarket so I hope I can get some advice on this.

There is a vintage Pokemon card listed for 110€ in NM condition. If it is truly NM the price is pretty good as there are PL, GD and EX copies listed at more than that and the next NM one is 150€. However there is no picture to evaluate the card and I asked the seller 5 days ago for a picture and got no answer yet. I usually don't like buying without seeing what I buy and I've seen NM listings of cards that were EX at best, but given that the seller has an "outstanding" rating with item description being "very good" for the last 99 orders, I am wondering if it is safe to assume that it is truly NM and buy it? In case it arrives with lightly scratched holo, whitening, OC or other defects is 10% refund the best I can expect?

The same card is available in a clean GD for 50€ which would be an alternative, but I would rather go for the 110€ NM one, provided it is truly NM with only one or two small white spots.

Customer support problem with "solved/closed" tickets

Hi everyone,

sometimes there are problems with support tickets, that still are shown on your starting page after login, but they should have already been removed, because the case is cleared.

Then it is not possible to remove it by yourself, you can close the ticket but it is still shown as notification when you are online. You even can't "update" tickets or answer on the helpdesk site.

Usually the support removes them manually after contacting, but there is one person that does nothing, even sets new tickets to "solved/closed" without doing anything for you, that is "Sheila".

Even after contacting them via email, your request will be blocked or deleted by this employee.

Is there a way to reach out to someone higher in the hierarchy that takes care about this person/problem? It's very frustrating the last 6:months on cardmarket.

Cardmarket cancellation request after payment – €380 order

Hi everyone,

I’m selling cards on Cardmarket and received an order worth approximately €380 today. The buyer placed the order and paid for it today.

I was about to ship the cards when I received a cancellation request. The buyer says they ordered by mistake and actually wanted to purchase a different product.

I would prefer to complete the sale and ship the cards as agreed. Cardmarket gives me two options: ā€œAccept cancellationā€ or ā€œReject.ā€

I haven’t shipped the cards yet.

My questions are:

  • Am I entitled to reject the cancellation request and proceed with the sale?
  • If I reject it, can the buyer still cancel the order?
  • Is there any risk in shipping the cards after rejecting the request?
  • What would you recommend in this situation, considering the order value is around €380?

I’d appreciate any advice from experienced Cardmarket sellers. Thanks!

Seller with hundreds of sales suddently listed a ton of cards for way cheaper

Hello, I was tracking some pokemon anniversary cards that Im planning to buy when I see that a private seller with hundreds of sales listed 30 of the same 26 euro card for 17 euros. This seems almost too good to be true and feels like they were hacked, is this normal?

What happens if you refuse to cancel an order you bought?

I bought a card from a seller then one day later that seller tells me first they were hacked then sends me a message a few days later saying they made a mistake listing the card and he doesnt have it. How does cardmarket treat that kind of issue ? Does the seller have to buy the card and send or do I just accept the refund ? The price of the card was lower than market value so I kind of want to have that card ?...

Selling First order sold, but buyer bought everything

So I just got my first sale on CM. I listed 455 articles (one piece 17 bulk and hits) like 2 days ago and 1 person bought everything. Is this normal or most likely a scam? The account that bought it is a member since 2024 and did purchase 4 times in total with 0 sales.

Need some advice how to package 455 cards and if this is legit?

Thanks in advance!

Buying Too cheap to be true?

Hello everyone, few hours ago I found a card on Cardmarket that is usually worth around 40 euro for 9 euro. As 40 was too much for me when I was deciding whether to buy it previously, I ordered it instantly.

Retrospectively, I know it has to be a fake. What do you think should be my next steps?

Any help would be appreciated.

Labelmaker for shipments

Hi all,

I have been selling on cardmarket for a decent amount of time and got around 500 sales now.

I found I am wasting a lot of time and energy to write out all the adresses for the orders I am making.

Anyone who can recommend me a not too expensive labelmaker that is also compatible with POSTNL?

Thanks for reading this far!
