Help Love the car, hate the customer service— help 🥹

I absolutely adore this car. It’s a fully loaded XSE and I am so grateful for it! However I’m having one issue. Added pics so this isn’t just one big rant (yes I plan on getting tints eventually lol). My Toyota app is missing key features for a Northeast 9-5 commuter: remote seat warmer, steering wheel heater, and defrost controls. I saw that some of you had this problem, so I tried to follow your steps…

Called Toyota support and explained the situation. Was immediately told that my car “doesn’t come with that” after “looking into my VIN #”. I didn’t believe this was correct so I asked for escalation and was put on hold for 20 mins; gave up for the day.

Next morning: opened a ticket a different way. Even found a Toyota guide online for the 2025MY that proves my car should have everything. Attached their own paperwork for them and on a second call was still given the runaround response of “your car doesn’t have that regardless of trim”. I kindly asked again that this be escalated. Nada. Won’t even talk about the third and fourth calls.

I’m just incredibly frustrated. 4 calls, 4 failures! I’m at my wits end because I paid extra for a car with everything and yet it is missing things. Might go through my dealership to see if the result will be any different but my heart isn’t in it.

If anyone has had any luck… please let me know what you did. Apparently speaking with 4 different support agents isn’t sufficient for me.

Picture Camry to Avalon, a Toyota love story

On an old Reddit account I deleted I posted about losing my Camry to a deer. With 152,xxx miles (70k in 3.5 years) and it being a hybrid I ended up with 16,000 to play around with since the car was paid off. I had already had the front end rebuilt before so I cut my losses and jumped up to an Avalon:)
I’ll never forget my Camry though and eventually I’d really like to get a new one for that sweet mpg.

It’s a 2 owner car one of them being my dad and I know the other owner as well so I have gotten a full picture of the service history and so I bought her for 12k. She sits with 95,xxx miles. 🫡

2025 XLE average mpg over 17000 miles. I’m pretty happy with that.

Dealership is saying I need new brakes, do the miles make sense?

I have a 2020 Camry Hybrid with around 70k miles and said front/rear brakes are 2mm. I deferred the service and scheduled it out 3 weeks after my oil change since I needed to go somewhere last week.

This week, I took my brother's 2023 Camry Hybrid for an oil change with 40k miles. They also recommended front brakes and pad, saying it's almost 2mm.

After the second one, I got suspicious. Aren't these really low miles for a hybrid to be getting brakes and rotors replaced? Brother's car is 50/50 highway city. My Camry is 75/25 highway/city.

Got rear ended as I was driving down the road :/ What do you guys think, is it totaled? 2023 Camry XSE

Would this be a wise purchase?

My civic was totaled and I was given 15k for my total loss. Been really researching the Camry’s lately and I landed on definitely getting a hybrid. It’s a Gold Certified. Should I do this or a new one? Would it be dumb to buy a 2024 in almost 2027?

What do y’all think?

The 2026 Camry possum is back…

He was up behind the driver side headlight again, but instead of scaring him out this time, he dug down farther, under the engine. I’m hoping this is near the wheel well opening where he got in and he’ll just leave again.

But man, why my car! I’m
Parked under a street light! Are there any moving exposed parts under the hood here if I turned the car on to scare him? I don’t see any belts…

Woke up to a nice scuff on my mirror..

So I got to wake up this morning to this black scuff on the Camry i just got back in March. Is this really worth doing anything about since it's not extremely visible? I realize that as time passes the car will get different bumps and bruises from the road, but it still feels like the car is a bit new to already have scratches.

The quotes for a paint fixes are like $500+ but the shell itself, pre-painted from Toyota is like $63.

What would you all do if presented with something like this?

PSA if buying used from the dealership

Bought CPO gold 2020 Camry in March. Only 36k miles when I bought it. Battery just died. Looks to be the original battery. Hindsight I probably should have checked to see if the battery was original given the age…but I think I was so taken by the mileage and the condition, great mileage and great condition all the practical stuff went out the window. Lesson learned.

Question Fuel display issue

So I’ve had my 2026 LE for a week now and this morning something unusual occurred. Car drove fine but when I started up this morning, the multi display was on fuel economy (instead of music where I left it) the fuel gauge read full instead of three-quarters. Any knowledge or advice?

Looking to trade my 24 xse gas for a 26 hybrid

So i have a 24 xse which I got at the end of 2023. Love the car but with gas prices going up thinking of switching to hybrid and i have been bombarded with emails and text about them buying my car. My question what would be a good trade in and what is the realistic mpg in Central TX driving roughly 40 miles per day mostly highway. Was looking into the XLE. Don't care for the sunroof at all.

26 SE, no sunroof; Rattle at the top of the drivers side B-pillar

The rattle started at about 10k miles on the car. It's located right by my ear in the B-pillar on the driver side. Today will be the second time I've taken the car to the dealership. Lastime they (supposedly) swapped the sealt belt adjuster and did the weld pinch TSB. These did not fix the problem but they never actually test drove the car, so I'm not sure if they actually did the work either. To me it sounds a little bit like glass or maybe metal rattling around everytime I hit a bump or drive down rougher roads. The strange part is, I drive about an hour to work and sometimes the rattle will go away for the fist half of my drive both in the morning and in the afternoon on the way home. So for about half an hour or so it will he fine. It does not seem like heat or cold dictate if it will rattle or not, also I feel like going uphill makes it slightly better and make long left turns will set if off (that might be in my head though). I know it's not the seat belt adjuster, I don't think it's the roof liner, I can make it stop by pressing my shoulder very hard into the pillar. I'm hoping some here can help me out because I have very little faith in the dealership.

Help For those with a late model Camry Hybrid have you installed an aftermarket spare tire kit?

And if so did it fit perfectly in the well or does it stick up or whatever?

Whats the likely solution to this hood to bumper gap on this 26 Camry

Friend looking at this Camry. Possibly putting deposit on it tomorrow. Only one left on the lot in a color she wants. Noticed this gap where the hood meets the bumper. What do you think the dealer will do to resolve it. It looks like a mold issue with the bumper rather than a misaligned hood latch. Seems like maybe taking some heat to it from underneath while pushing up on the area slightly might correct it. Adjusting the hood latch might hide it somewhat but its still clearly a bumper mold flaw. I suspect the dealer will attempt that quick fix to try and hide it rather than pull the cover and try to heat it back into shape. What ya think?

2018 Camry Wheel Stud Problems

Thumbnail

I decided to change my rotors at home. I figured it’d be a quick and easy job. However, three studs on front passenger side snapped off from being over-torqued by the last shop that had the wheel off. I’ve tried to replace the studs, but I can’t find a single one that slots into the hub. AutoZone recommended a size that was way too big. After that failed, they recommended a smaller one: Dorman 610-266. They were completely out at every store, so I picked some up at Advanced. I tried them tonight and they also will not fit (even though Dorman’s site says they will), even while using a wheel stud tool and an impact wrench. They get about halfway up the knurl and no further. The old studs have a slightly shorter knurl and are tapered a bit differently. I wanted to do OEM (Toyota Part# 90942-02082), but the local Toyota dealership service shop won’t have them in for a week and I need this done before the weekend is finished. Does anyone here know a wheel stud that may fit? It’s my first time having to deal with snapped studs.

Will these rims work on my 2022 Camry XSE

I have tires and rims from my old car they are 215/45/r18 18x7jj 46

I just want to use these rims in the winter I want to keep my current stock rims in good condition for the summer only and am wondering if I can buy winter tires for the rims mentioned above. I asked ChatGPT and they are saying it will sit too low or something to do with clearance because of the 215
