I am married 32 year old man. The other night, I was listening to my wife and her friends chit chat on the phone and I realized it is a nice thing to have in life that I may be missing on.
I come from a very poor, abusive home. Being the eldest, I was treated as the third parent around the age of 13. So, nor did I get to be a kid, I just didn't get a normal life either. To put it in context, I had to be in therapy from the age of 17 to 28. Around my adolescent years I was on a lot medications too. I really wasn't in a great place for a long time in my life.
That said, I must say fortune favoured me to get out of that rut. Today, I have a peaceful life. I have a decent job, hobbies, and overall quite healthy. I got lucky with a great partner too. Over all I don't want to wish for more, because I have enough.
Though I feel like I missed out on making friends. I was never really comfortable around people, due to my past trauma and abuse history but over the years that has slowly worked it's way out of my system.
My wife and other people who know me well would say that I am quite a child in that I am goofy and always having fun with my self. And my colleagues agree that I am a lot of fun too.
But, I never got to be in a "tribe" and have a friend or two for life.
As most kids back in my days, and being a gamer I spent most of my childhood days in video games to numb my pain. I did make a lot of gaming friends but they all drifted apart over time.
I am from Kerala. I live here too. I am welcome to tips.
I love video games, movies, travelling, carpentry, cooking, baking. I am a text book introvert and happy that way. I do not have high energy hobbies, they'd drain me a lot. Overall I enjoy calmness and peace.
