Check this page for the long version of the recommended watch order.
You can also find a complete diagram made (before Zoku was released) by /u/maxdefolsch here.
All of the sites we currently know of are listed on this wiki page.
The novels are in the process of being officially translated to English by Vertical Inc. You can buy them online from most booksellers.
Bakemonogatari Portable was released on August 23, 2012 for the PlayStation Portable. It is a visual novel following the events of the Bakemonogatari light novels.

No. They are excerpts from the novels that can help flesh out the story a bit, but you don't need to stop to read them to understand what's going on.
The series has ended multiple times, but each time Nisio Isin ends up writing more stories. The Off & Monster Season anime adaption is currently airing, and another novel is being written.
There have been many articles and videos made on the Monogatari series over the years. Links to some of them can be found here.

Off & Monster Season (Part 2) Anime - 2025
Note that despite being called just Bakemonogatari, the manga adaption covers more than just the Bakemonogatari novels.

It's been a few years since I watched the full show in LN release order and, since I forgot a lot of it, I'm planning to rewatch everything.
Would watching it in chronological order be fine? Or should I watch it in LN release order again and watch it in chronological order later?
I can't really decide and would love some opinions on it :)

I recently finished bakemonogatari and the first 2 movies after, and I have to say, for the love for this series I have seen online... I dont get why people like it so much. For me it has had its highs and lows. I generally like similar stories (bunny girl senpai, in/spectre, detag parade. Similar in the storytelling sense). And while the series has some great.... character analysis (?). I'm not sure if that the correct term, I like the problems the characters are facing, they seem realistic and kinda relatable. But, all the sexual stuff feels a little too much. I understand a little fanservise maybe for the sake of romance or being a little weird as a teenager, but it feels very over the top. And... I dont see enough people talking about it. Also, no clue what to write on the title, so, generic aah title, my bad

I have watched all of the Monogatari anime up to the off&monster season. I have been a huge Monogatari fan for many years. I decided to buy the season 1 box set of novels, and plan to buy the other two box sets of novels as I finish them.
I have heard very good things about the novels and wanted to read them as well. What things do you think the novels do better than the amazing anime we have? I’m excited to read

Started rewatching Bakemonogatari and I forgot how strangely empty the town feels sometimes.
Like Araragi will be having a whole conversation with someone and there's literally nobody else around. No random pedestrians, barely any traffic, just these massive empty streets and weird camera angles.
For an anime where the characters NEVER stop talking, it somehow feels quiet as hell lol.
I actually really like it though. Makes those little conversations feel like they're the only thing happening in the world.
Anyone else get that kinda lonely feeling watching Monogatari? Or am I just overthinking the backgrounds?

So I know this interpretation isn't canonically accurate but I still find it fitting
In a lot of ways, Hitagi is the embodiment of judgement, from labeling everybody as a simple anime trope, to telling Nadeko that even under different circumstances she would never be friends with a cute brat like her, despite having never interacted with her before.
I think one of the main themes of the Hitagi End arc is to stop being so judgemental, because you never truly know someone no matter how much you think you do, which was illustrated by Kaiki, a con artist, failing to deceive Nadeko because even he had misjudged her. Every arc with Nadeko as an mc shows more and more layers into her character, making it impossible to accurately label her as anything. For the viewers, I feel like this arc signifies the "end" of the Hitagi mentality.
Although it's unlikely this is actually why the arc is called Hitagi end, I thought it still fit with the overall philosophies of Monogatari, since Ougi Dark had a lot to do with Araragi's black and white mentality.

So while I was watching tsukimonogatari i wondered if we would ever get a Naruto like backstory where all of them are teenagers or children and we see how they operated in their heyday. I'm now at owarimonogatari second season and the way the events are going it seems less possible as it goes on. So is there an arc that focuses on the specialists?

This isn't about the horniness of the series but just a thought i reached when watching shinobu mail and im thinking that, man, this is one of the greatest series if not THE greatest series of all time. Kizu was a masterpiece and the entire story is so damn good. This is the only piece of fiction that had me opening up my notes to write stuff down.
