Non Arab | Question Doesn't the whole "anti Semitic" thing annoy you all?

Every time I see this word mentioned, it confuses me greatly.

I'm sure many of you know this, but the phrase was coined by a German to create an "us Vs them" narrative and replace the German word for "Jew hate" with a more scientific and palatable word. It was used to make people believe Jews were a different race, a different ethnicity, but this is false.

What grinds my gears is the fact Arabs are also semites, yet people have been brainwashed into believing only Jews are Semitic... so TECHNICALLY any time someone is being islamaphobic or against Arabs, they're also being "anti Semitic"... but no one wants to admit that.

The thing that gets me though is the whole "Jews are a different race" that Israelis and uninformed zio shills say, because this was nazi propaganda. As far as I'm aware, no orthodox Jew ever said they were a different race or ethnicity, because how can they when they allow conversion?

Does no one ever question this? if they're a race, how come there's Chinese Jews? Ethiopian Jews, central African Jews, euro Jews? It can't even be an "ethnoreligion" because of this either!

LITERALLY Israel has its foundations in nazi ideology, even down to how they categorise who is and isn't a Jew. Jewish law says you're Jewish if your mother was a Jew right? and the Nazis started the whole "if one grandparent was Jewish you're a Jew", so why does Israel carry on this idea? they're gathering poor sods from Ukraine and places who have never seen a Torah, can't speak Hebrew, all their predecessors except one were Christian or secular, yet this person can take their children to Israel, and put them in the Israeli terrorist force to kill Palestinians. it's quite literally not their land, and the ties to it are tenuous at best.

my ancestral heritage is from Denmark on my father's side. this was hundreds of years ago. I could move to Denmark, buy a house, and feel closer to my ancestors. this is fine.

I can't just go to Denmark, and kick a family out of its home just because I want to!

ARGH 😤 I'm sorry I veered off, I get so damn angry when discussing these rats, and that's what they truly are, converts and colonisers. KOSOM ISRAEL

Non Arab | Question How much impact does this have on me marrying an Arab woman?

I'm an Iraqi 23M and I was just curious how much weight skin tone has for men when it comes to getting married to an Arab woman. My family have more of a Levantine/white passing look and my skin tone is more on the tan/brown side(I get mistaken for Pakistani and Mexican sometimes). I personally have no preference for skin tone but would rather marry another Arab just out of simplicity and wanted to know how much friction I would face from the girl If she was levantine or Gulf?

**ignore the tag the rest didnt fit**

و بالتعليقات في ناس يهلوسون و يقولون "how is this creepy video being received positively? This poor boy is probably being beaten behind the scenes to serve his father and his mother isn’t allowed out of the kitchen. All the guys are just in this creepy room laughing while their women slave away?”

Why do people get so uncomfortable with Arab history?

There's an idea going around that Arabs only showed up in Syria, Jordan, Iraq and Palestine in the 7th century. That's just not true, and the evidence is very old.

853 BC: an Assyrian king's stone inscription names "Gindibu the Arab". He brought 1,000 camels to fight the Assyrians at the Battle of Qarqar. That's the first time Arabs are named in history, and he came from the Syrian desert.

After that, Assyrian and Babylonian records keep naming Arab kings and queens in the region. Then you get the Nabataeans at Petra, the Arab royal family of Emesa (Homs), the Ghassanids and the Lakhmids.

Then there's Philip the Arab, Roman emperor from 244 to 249 AD. He was born in the Hauran in southern Syria. Roman historians call him "Arab" by name. People still say "he wasn't really Arab."

Arabs were living in the Levant, especially the south, more than 1,400 years before Islam. The 7th century made Arabic the main language here. It didn't bring the first Arabs.

So why the denial? Why does this make some people so insecure?

I wish I could stop at 2 children.

As a middle eastern woman, I am basically expected to have more children. I am blessed with two healthy boys but they are very demanding. I’m a full stay at home mom with a working husband. I feel like cooking 3x a day + cleaning + child caregiving is too much. On top of this all, I’m also taking care of myself. Sometimes when my kid is throwing such a huge tantrum over everything I start to wonder if I even like my life at all. Like, surely it is not normal to feel like you’re constantly surrounding by screaming and demands all day? It takes the “fun” out of being a stay at home mom. There is nothing glamorous about it. I wish I can just stop. But I can’t. Every person in my family tree has 4 MINIMUM. I feel like pregnancy is only ever sympathized by other women— if even. I have to do so much just not to fall apart when I am pregnant. Just for my husband to wake up one day and becoming a father of another child.

Non Arab | General Can anyone help me understand Arab culture a bit more? Superstitions?

Hi all, me again. I was just wondering whether Arabs were generally superstitious and how members of the ummah feel about this in general.

over here in the UK, both "Christians" and atheists have weird superstitious rituals which, even when I was a non-muslim, just made me laugh. for example, people try and avoid stepping on 3 drains in a row, or get worried about a specific number of magpies, or (one of my favourites) having the TV volume on an even number because the odd numbers are "unlucky" 😂

I've seen a few Muslims before discussing superstitions, wearing certain pieces of jewellery to bring them luck or protection, but as far as I know this is forbidden in islam.

so I'm just wondering how common these practices actually are within your communities.

thank you

On a serious note, do the Israeli do this on purpose, like they know people can tell he isn't from Gaza and he wasn't Muslim. Yet they still do this lame ass propaganda. My question is why do they even bother if they know people can tell, is it like a Ragebait, or just for the sake of being a troll.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Non Arab | General My view of Arabs as a native Brit

Hi everyone. This is perhaps quite a random post, but if you'd indulge me, I'd like to talk about how I view you both in past and present tense and maybe form a new bridge from me to you.

First I'd like to point out that I have done this before via discord and made some amazing friends, two of which being an Iraqi and a sudanese. I consider these guys to be extremely valuable, and they helped me in my journey towards islam.

Essentially this will be quite self involved, but it's kinda needed for context.

I'm a middle aged, white brit. I was raised semi-christian, but then went agnostic/atheist as a teen. when I was young, I didn't know what a Muslim was, had even less of an idea what an Arab was, but after 9/11, we all knew. My young mind watched as the footage unfurled and started to hear about how these people would like nothing more than to come to America, Britain, Europe, and kill us all. This is the rhetoric that many of us were raised with, day in, day out, on the news, in the playground, in television and film, the Arabs were out to get us.

Fast forward a year or so, and a few of my friends, myself included, started asking questions. If there's so many of these people, why are these events not more common? if they truly wanted us dead, why are we not at war, and other such things. We knew something was up, but didn't know enough at the time.

I must stress this, even today, there aren't many people in Britain who can tell you what an Arab actually is. Your average Brit believes Pakistanis, Iraqis, Iranians, Lebanese, Syrians, Moroccans, Tunisians, Egyptians, Turks, Kurds, Jordanians, Saudis, Afghanis and even sometimes Greeks, are all Arabs and form a monolith of culture.

Anyway, my later teens were spent minding my own business, I lived in various house shares with different European people, and would hear others talk about (for example) how they didn't like the Polish, but my experience with them was nothing but positive. I couldn't help feeling like these people were maintaining their playground gossip then tarring everyone with the same brush.

I spent my 20s raising my kids, getting married, etc etc and started watching more and more footage on YouTube about people travelling through Syria, Iraq, even Afghanistan, and thinking "these aren't the bloodthirsty people I've been told to fear, they just want to live in peace". Over time I grew to resent the fact I'd been lied to about so many different groups of cultures and ethnicities, and I was desperately trying to explain to others where we get things wrong, but to no avail, hardly anyone would listen to me about it and they maintained the same narrow worldviews.

Skipping ahead again, now in my late 30s, and something happened on October 7th 2023. Some guys attacked some country. My understanding of the Israel/Palestine thing was weird. Remember I said I had a Christian upbringing? well I was brought up to believe Israel was the most important place on earth and that the Jews were the best people on earth, but there was a cognitive dissonance going on, because I was also told the Jews were hated by "us" due to them getting Jesus killed, and blah blah blah. I also knew that Palestinians lived there, but believed the Palestinians were aggressors and ultimately there was no answer, both sides were to blame.

I saw a news article about something to do with a telephone conversation between two members of "Hamas" and how the accents between them were wrong, and that started me down a rabbit hole... one which entirely altered my world view. I had been lied to for the last time.

I decided to check out what other middle easterners were saying about this, and in my travels I saw European reddits saying all Arabs were "goat fuckers" and how they bring death and destruction on themselves, and whatever else. I KNEW this was wrong, but what on earth could I do?

I started seeing more and more and more stuff on the Arab/middle east reddits about the nonsense Israel was talking, and I decided for the first time to actually join a middle eastern space and try to get to know the people personally. So I signed up for discord, and off I went.

I was shocked to find people just laughing, joking, complaining. their English was fantastic, and they were just normal people, not aliens, not bloodthirsty, although I will say this; I wasn't expecting QUITE so much "racism" 😂 you guys need to cool it sometimes I swear 😆 I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good racist joke as much as the next guy, but hoo boy, y'all get into the minutiae don't ya? 😂 "Don't listen to him, he's a gulfy" "what would a shroogi know about that" "I'm from northern Iraq, and let me tell you, southern Iraqis are weird" "hang on, he's Persian?! don't look at him!" 😂 it was funny for me as an outsider I gotta say.

I started to learn more and more about the various different cultures, the relative unity of islam (which I had NO interest in whatsoever) and I like to believe I was teaching them a fair bit about my culture, and how we are just the same people only on different sides of a fence.

They KEPT going on about Islam though, not really pushing it, but always dropping in words, like "that's halal" and whatever. Now my understanding at the time was that Halal = meat, so I needed a few things explained 😂 and I started asking more, but also resisting it. I had my cultural views, and I wasn't going to bend on them... so why did I keep asking?

I would ask, expecting one response, then resist the one I got, and I didn't like it at all. As much as I liked these guys, I also just didn't want to blindly believe in this religion. perhaps it was brainwashing by western media? I'm not sure. But I wanted to break it apart so I could show them how wrong Islam actually was. So I started trying to dismantle it. I had a scientific background, and in science, you can't just accept something, you have to test it, try and bend/break it, and only when everyone is reporting the same findings can it be considered "fact" right?

During that time, I was seeing more and more and more lies coming out of Israel, the place I was told was the most amazing thing on earth, and understanding more and more lies westerners had been told in the past about Muslims and "Arabs" (see above for what the Brit believes is an Arab). So I'm starting to wonder, what parts of islam have I been lied to about as well? Turns out, pretty much all of it.

Anyway, to cut a really long story slightly shorter, I got more and more into Islam from a sceptical point of view, and concluded that it actually worked for me so after 2 years of questioning, and whatever else, I took the shahadah. Now I'm a Muslim man. Whiter than white, roast dinner eating, cottage pie scoffing, jeans and t shirt, Muslim man, and let me tell you, my fellow Brits have no idea what to do with me 😂

To be honest, as I'm writing this, I'm actually falling foul of something myself by assuming 99% of you are Muslim, but I know this may not be the case, so I do apologise.

There was one country I hadn't really looked at though in my journey. It's a country I knew was bad, but I didn't realise HOW bad. can you guess who I'm talking about? That's right, America.

This whole journey started with them, 9/11, I felt sorry for them as a kid, how could anyone attack my precious America? what did they ever do to anyone?.... Adult me cringes at this. Well I've done my research, and while I'm not going to drag this out much longer, let's just say that most days I find out more and more of what they've done and the real enemy this whole time has been the American administration. I cannot believe how much of a hold American media has had on me, my countrymen, the world at large, only to find out that the blood on their hands can never be wiped clean.

I'm going to stop now, and I don't know if this will mean ANYTHING to anyone here, but I want you to know; you have an ally in me. I can see it all so clearly now, and to the day I die I will not stop trying to open the eyes of others around me. I always said to my Iraqi and Sudani friends, if I can get just one person to understand that their fears are unfounded then I'll be happy, I WILL alter people's perceptions of you and get them to understand you're simply human. You cry, you bleed, you laugh, you enjoy good food, you have nasty people, charitable people, loving people, you're just human like everyone else on the planet.

May god grant you health, peace and happiness
