Update: Here’s what Fable Forest (they/them) posted on Facebook on Oct 18, 2026 (five days after this video):
So for those of you following the Fable Forest vs Marty Misjuns adventure. Marty has now joined forces with fellow councilman Curt Deimer in an attempt to scare me into being quiet or perhaps even apologizing for reading Marty's tweets to him.
They are now suggesting they might sue me for the things I said.
Now let me be clear: I will not apologize for demanding action from all of council for Marty's atrocious public messages. However, I do disapprove of the fact that reportedly a death threat was made against him. Having been on the recieving end of such things as well as endless hate for being queer, I can understand the feeling he must have. I do NOT support using hate or violence against him.
But precisely BECAUSE I know that feeling well I cannot and WILL not stand by while Marty posts away about "Democrats are groomers" and "let the crusades return" both DIRECT quotes from him!
Our city deserves better than that.
That councilman Deimer would choose to instead attack me and an organization I am part of (but did not speak on behalf of) instead of condemning Marty's words says more than I ever can. And that he would attempt to shame me for suggesting Marty read the Bible is a hollow insult at best.
After all, Curt Deimer made a rape joke in reference to a political vote, and when women came in to demand an apology, Curt instead SHAMED those women. He said they had not approached him in "a christ-like enough manner" and that if they had problems with his conduct they should have brought it to him privately. After he publically made those jokes.
He went on to only apologize to one woman in the crowd, the one who said she was a republican
I did not say what I said as an "operative" or as a Democrat or whatever they want to paint me as. I said it as a citizen. I felt as a citizen it was not only my right but also my duty to speak up for the people who are so routinely harmed by words.
So again, I will not be scared into silence. I will demand better for our city from EVERY single councilmember.
And to Marty's repeated requests: I will NOT parade the names of my deceased loved ones for your amusement. If you want to know who could die by words look up hate crime statistics and queer youth suicide. But those names will live with me and with their families. They are NOT for your amusement.

Lynchburg, VA resident Fable Forest (they/them) speaks at a city council meeting on October 13, 2026. The posts they cite were made by Councilman Martin Misjuns.
I slowed-down the clip (0.75x) to approximate the original speed. Here's the sped-up version from Occupy Democrats on YouTube: Brave Woman Blasts Maga Official, Goes Mega-Viral! - Occupy Democrats - Oct 13, 2026 (YouTube)
Left of Lynchburg's Facebook page posted 80 screenshots of Martin Misjuns’ words & actions: https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=122364172406225581&id=61556767442040

Here is most of Fable's statement:
I'm here to talk about the power of words. I'm here to talk about the words of one Councilman, and how he may have freedom of speech, but that does not free him from the consequences of hate speech. These words have a direct correlation to the work he does in this room, and the treatment the Citizens in this city receive.
So, let's revisit some of your favorite Tweets, shall we? I mean, you made all those comments, so I bet you're willing to stand by them.
So, I quote directly, Martin as he himself said: In the 90’s we would have call a guy like that a fag. Now, what gay Citizen is going to feel comfortable speaking in here?
And another one: God bless 250 years of white boy summer. Quite a popular white supremacist phrase. Followed by: Let the crusades return. And you still haven't answered what you think “crusades” are.
So not only homophobic, transphobic, but racist, unwilling to acknowledge the abuse and work of murdered indigenous Americans, and the slaves that built America.
Oh, and you believe that everyone should be forcibly, violently converted into your version of Christianity, under pain of death. Your words.
So in what world is anyone going to feel comfortable speaking in here, or welcome in this city? You still stand by these statements, I'm sure.
. . . . .
Here's another fan favorite. Marty Misjuns said that Democrats, Christians, Jews, and gay Americans need to join the Republican party or die. Your words right here: Join or die.
Your bigotry and hatred has no place here. Your words can, have, and will kill People.
You wanna say that the Left is unhuman degenerates, that every Muslim is a terrorist, queer people are pedophiles, America is for white people, successful black women are all men, socialists are demons, on and on and on it goes. You will kill people with these words.
Does this Council represent Lynchburg City or does it represent Marty Misjuns’ terrorist, white supremacist thoughts? Do we have no standards or morals? How's any Citizen supposed to feel comfortable in this room or safe in this city? That there has been no universal condemnation from the rest of this Council speaks to the failure of every single one of you.
So, I am calling for Marty Misjuns to be removed. I hope he is barred from ever holding a position where he can pretend to be representing this city, instead of ruling with hate in his heart. Leaving him unchecked will lead to the deaths of Lynchburg citizens.
You disgust me. Your behavior is appalling. It is shameful. It is so far removed from Christ, you might as well be the Antichrist.
And I'm sure you'll quote something out of your pre-approved bag of hateful rhetoric. But I remind you that the devil can quote scripture, too. And that every scripture you read, there will be five more, saying you to love your Neighbor. And judge not, lest you be judged in return.
So, you gonna own up to it, Marty? And if you don't like what I have to say, then maybe open a book — or perhaps the damn Bible — and start reading it.
