Call to Action Peaceful protest planned in Missouri after sheriff’s deputy struck and killed 16-year-old girl. Family demands answers.

I previously posted here about the death of a 16-year-old girl who was struck and killed by a St. Francois County sheriff’s deputy in Missouri on October 3.

Her family was initially led to believe she had been killed in a hit-and-run involving an unknown driver. It wasn’t until October 5 that they were officially informed a deputy had struck her.

Since then, newly released dispatch audio has raised additional questions about the Sheriff’s Office’s account, including redacted communications and inconsistencies between the dispatch records and the sheriff’s statements.
The family has now announced a peaceful protest calling for answers and accountability.

PROTEST DETAILS

Sunday, October 18, 2026

2:00–4:00 p.m.

Farmington Courthouse, Farmington, Missouri

The announcement was shared publicly by the victim’s aunt, Kimberly Berger.

The deputy, identified by the family as Blake Cook, is reportedly STILL ON DUTY and has not even been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation. Local accounts indicate he has continued responding to calls.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, but significant questions remain about the Sheriff’s Office’s handling of the incident and why the family was initially given a different account.
I’m sharing this update because I want people who followed the original story to know about the protest and the family’s continuing efforts to get answers.

Heavily Intoxicated ICE Agent Drunk-Drives Rampage Before Bystander Halts Carnage

2.4k Upvotes

Kudos to those people for getting him off the road!

They didn't even use excessive force and got the drunk off the road and out of the car!

Not fully confirmed it's an ICE agent, if you have proof he is or isn't ICE, please post it and I'll make it the stickied comment.

Either way, a drunk got taken off the road without the use of excessive force, that's a better job than ICE generally does.

Call to Action Restoring reproductive rights in ruby-red Idaho

Post image
74 Upvotes

As has been the standard since Dobbs, voters in multiple states will weigh in on their abortion laws on November 3rd. One we’re keeping an especially close eye on: Idaho, one of the most conservative states in the country, with Republicans holding every statewide executive office and supermajorities in both legislative chambers. Right now, they have in place a ban on nearly all abortions, which has contributed to their loss of nearly a third of the state’s OB-GYNs and cruel consequences for women who need care. The team at Idahoans United for Women & Families has pushed forward Proposition One, the Reproductive Freedom and Privacy Act), which would guarantee abortion rights through fetal viability.

This is the only state where we have a chance to restore reproductive rights this fall, our only reasonable means of doing so with so many GOP officeholders, and a chance to demonstrate that the public wants the right to choose no matter where they stand on the political spectrum. Polling last year suggested as many as 6 in 10 Idahoans could be on board, including 45% of Republicans, but the Church of Latter-Day Saints has been pushing hard for its members to oppose.

☎️ Yes on One phonebanks are now live! We can help encourage folks to make their voices heard for reproductive rights on Sundays from 4-6PM ET and Tuesdays from 9-11PM ET by signing up for a shift here. ☎️

WE CAN WIN FOR WOMEN IN IDAHO

Meanwhile, we’ve also got opportunities coming up to help beat back the forced birthers in Missouri, where they’re testing a new strategy: combining an abortion ban with attacking gender-affirming care for trans kids in the same ballot question and hoping to get pro-choicers to flip for transphobia’s sake. 💬 The Human Rights Campaign will be holding textbanks to help stop Amendment 3 tomorrow at 1PM and October 27th at 6:30PM ET we can sign up for here, and the main Stop The Ban campaign will be texting on Thursdays at 5:30PM ET. 💬

SHOW ME A NO VOTE ON 3

-  This week’s judges to thank

- The hunger strike in ICE detention in Folkston, Georgia is now well into its second week - if we’re local, we can join supporters in rallying outside the gates on Sunday, and we can all find ways to show our solidarity here

Organizing Tools Help me coalesce the reasons why you're sick of this

• Upvotes

The call to action is to pitch in down below with citations if you can so that I can share critical, politically relevant and contemporary information with my polity.

I'm organizing vote rehearsals in Texas and there are some things that are unique to Texas which are hard enough to talk about as it is with people on a first-time basis, and I've only got this weekend to prepare really for explaining the circumstances that we're in today in the US anyway..

So my idea here is that, I would probably do good to have an open forum where people can pitch in contemporary information about where we are politically in the US.

So, for example, data centers, so so much converges at this focal point, you've got deep pockets coming from the tech sector, from the evangelical right, from the military congressional industrial complex, from the hawks on either side making big money off of cross-platform targeting integration systems like Palantir which were being nested into the government well before Trump got there..

To say nothing of the Cambridge Analytica strain that ties into Meta, Google, Amazon and Co, the Tik Tok Larry Ellison people, the Flock and Axon expansion, natural resource conservation, the network state problem..

In Texas, Meta, Google, and Amazon reps were being asked for their opinion by a House Committee on Natural Resources in Texas over how they felt about local governments having control over the use of water in their permitting processes and when the Amazon rep said "I mean that is common in other states" there was laughter in the House chamber!

*cherry on top if you know anything about it since I'm making a fuss in Texas is that in almost all the major pop counties, property taxes have these horrific, feudal, downright evil "late fee" systems that charge you progressive, compounding interest percentages per month not paid, so the first month you've got a 6% fee, but by the 5th month you're looking at like 50-60% fee charges, that only walk down in increments of % per month. That's the kind of thing that traps generations of people into deadlock, chaining people to their place of residence and strangling them for all they have.

The only places I see people gather en masse without paying a fee or paying a tithe are in the lines for the Spectrum company call center job fair, and the property tax payment facility..

I am terrified of the future and have been scared into action. I figured tomorrows protest would be a good place to start. Thing is, i have no preparations for this. Is it in bad taste to just show up with nothing?

TX My advice for the No Kings events in Texas

After the reveal of the delays of 600k in voter registration, I think instead of worrying about the GOP potentially cheating, we use the threat to our advantage to tell those a-holes "NO". We'd better not only minimize any potential damage, we'd better do it WITH GREATER EFFORT THAN BEFORE.

Poster/Chant Ideas Anti-Flock guerrilla postering

My university has a deal with Flock, as well as other companies associated with/similar to Flock, and there are currently around 9 cameras on campus. My campus's YDSA group (which I'm a part of) is proposing a petition to demand that our campus break their deal with Flock. We had an anti-ICE protest, where we presented a petition demanding that our campus be made into a sanctuary campus, as well as that ICE/immigration agents would be refused from coming on campus, alerts would be sent out if they were to be on or near the campus, staff be trained in dealing with immigration agents, and a resource center for undocumented students be created. Only certain parts of the ICE petition has been met, but not all, which is another part of the new petition's demands.

We were discussing how to spread the word about the cameras on campus, and some things that the group leaders already had was a banner drop, spreading information by mouth, ect., but one that especially caught my interest was guerrilla postering, and I'm looking for ideas of what exactly to include on the posters.

One idea was something like "Smile, you're on camera" and explaining the university's deal with Flock, as well as the locations on campus where the cameras are located.

CA Trump is attacking CA's election: Yesterday CA was given 48 hrs to validate a list of voters that the regime claims are not citizens. These people are not to receive ballots or, if they've already voted, their ballots are not to be counted until certification is complete.
