What to do if no Secure Boot certificate update is available from your manuafacturer

HP EliteBook 820 G1, Windows 11. Touchpad is Synaptics (hardware ID ACPI\SYN3008).

PROBLEM: The cursor and clicks work, but there are no gestures (no two-finger scroll) and the Synaptics tab in main.cpl is missing. Sometimes after a sleep/wake cycle, full gestures work and the tab appears, but it's random and not every sleep. Sometimes the cursor also freezes until I sleep the laptop again. HISTORY: Gestures worked originally. The problem started around the time I ran a hackintosh (OpenCore only, no BIOS flashing). The same problem showed up on macOS, with no scrolling or gestures. I've since moved to a new SSD with a fresh Windows install.

WHAT I'VE ALREADY TRIED - Replaced the touchpad (good, reliable part) and the keyboard. The replacement keyboard has no TouchStyk, but the original had one. I no longer have the original. - Updated and reflashed the BIOS, reset to defaults, drained power, removed the CMOS battery - Chipset driver, fast startup off, clean Synaptics reinstall, tried older Synaptics drivers, tried other compatible drivers - No errors in Event Viewer. Device Manager shows everything OK in both states, with identical driver versions and services running

WHAT I FOUND - Ubuntu live USB: the touchpad shows up as "PS/2 Generic Mouse," never as Synaptics, even after rescanning the serio device or suspending and waking many times - In Windows the Synaptics SMBus driver is present and healthy even in the bad state - In the bad state the Synaptics tray menu is greyed out ("Tap to Click" unavailable), Windows touchpad settings page is empty, and the Synaptics COM interface (SynCtrl) returns almost no properties - Two-finger tap = right click works with no software at all, but two-finger sliding sends no scroll events (AutoHotkey sees nothing) - Removing the Synaptics driver used to give erratic keyboard-like input, but now it just becomes a generic PS/2 mouse. The result is the same either way. - HP support (WhatsApp) said to buy a new keyboard. I can't afford one right now, so I'm looking for any free fix or anyone who recognizes this.

QUESTIONS 1. Does the touchpad's gesture mode depend on the TouchStyk keyboard on this model? 2. Has anyone seen a Synaptics pad that only enters full mode after random sleeps? 3. Is there any free way to force the pad into full mode at startup? Happy to run any test you suggest.

As the title says, the USB-C port on my ASUS laptop went dead while I was using it for a stream. I've run through all the basic solutions like checking drivers, changing power plan, unplugging and re-plugging in the battery, even updated the Nvidia USB-C driver. Absolutely zero response. I would think the port broke if it didn't look fine and die mid-use.

Any solutions out there I may have missed?

Ok so, I own a Msi thin 15 laptop and I just wanted to play some on GeForce now, when out of nowhere, as I opened my laptop from it being on sleep mode as I was doing something else, and I tried to log in, the prompt to log in didn't show up, the screen didn't get blurry to indicate it'd pop up, and the 1st worst thing is that whenever I clicked with my mouse left OR right...the error sound would play, and the 2nd worst thing? I can't even restart it! Try to hold down the power button? NOPE, MY STUPID WALLPAPER OF SIGURD FROM FIRE EMBLEM JUST STARES AT ME! Sorry if this sounds like a troll post, but I'm just so damn frustrated as idk what to do! Microsoft's stupid ai phone number customer service thing even hung up on me before I could specify my issue! I don't know why it happened, how I can avoid it...but by just yelling at it and trying to force restart it again AND recording proof for my more tech savvy boyfriend...it magically reset and I could log in...again, any things I should know to prevent and a reason why it did what it did in the first place? Again, this is not a troll post istg

I have a Lenovo LOQ [model, if you know it] running Windows [10/11]. I installed LVSIM and LVDAC for my circuits class. During the LVSIM install, Windows showed an error about **hardlock.sys**. I googled it and the fix was to turn off Memory Integrity (Core Isolation) in Windows Security and restart, so I did.

Now the laptop won't boot properly. It starts up, shows the Windows loading screen, then crashes with this blue screen:

Stop code: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (0x50). What failed: hardlock.sys** (photo attached) (After thats its just black screen)

After that it restarts into a black screen with no logo and no blue screen. The caps lock and other keyboard lights still respond, and then the cycle repeats.

What I've tried: - Spamming F2 for BIOS: nothing happens just beeping - Trying to get into recovery mode: doesn't work - Pressing the Novo button: nothing shows up - Holding the power button to drain residual power: no change

Subject: PLEASE HELP — Abusive Ex Hijacked All 6 of My Gmail Accounts, I’m Losing Access to Everything and Can’t Get Google Support (Medical, Therapy, Legal Files at Risk)

I’m desperate and have nowhere else to turn. My abusive ex, who broke my phone last week and controlled all my access, hijacked EVERY one of my SIX Gmail accounts. This only became clear in the last 36 hours as I started to recover and realized every password, backup, and connected account had been changed or removed. I have tried every single Google recovery path—there is NO way to reach an actual human support rep.

Why is this so serious? Because everything that matters to my survival is tied to these accounts:

- Years **of medical files, doctor reports, and test results** (including for rare/chronic illness) that my doctors/hospitals do not have backups of

- **Therapy music/recordings**, which are my ONLY coping tool to manage my ADHD, C-PTSD, and bipolar depression

- **Financial info** and accounts, now showing unauthorized charges, with my banking security at risk

- Police reports, legal evidence (including voice documentation of abuse and car accident), and crucial legal paperwork

- Irreplaceable **family records, personal documents, and important communications**

I have my government ID and plenty of proof these accounts are mine, but the automated recovery loop leads nowhere. I cannot get help. Every hour I’m locked out, I lose more access to critical parts of my health and safety, and my mental well-being is breaking down.

By every standard—Google’s own privacy policy, state/federal laws (Arizona A.R.S. § 44-1698, federal CFAA, FTC ID theft guidance)—I should be able to reclaim my accounts as a verified victim. But I’m being **re-traumatized and abandoned by Google’s lack of human support**. If I can’t regain access soon, I will be left with no legal, medical, or emotional lifelines.

Has ANYONE had success getting Google to intervene *with a real person* in account recovery after abuse? Is there a way to escalate this directly, or any advocacy resources I can turn to? Please—any advice, connections, or moderator escalations would mean EVERYTHING right now.

I'm having a recurring issue with my HP Victus laptop and would appreciate some help diagnosing it.

My laptop specifications:

- Laptop: HP Victus

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7000 series

- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060

- OS: Windows 11

I've encountered a blue screen with the stop code DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (0x9F). I've attached a picture of the BSOD.

Another issue occurs around the same time: my Windows Hello PIN stops working, and Windows displays the message:

"Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again."

I then have to set up my PIN again to sign in using it.

I'm wondering whether these two issues could be related, possibly through a driver, Windows update, power-state transition, or a problem with Windows Hello or the TPM. However, I don't know the actual cause.

What would be the best way to diagnose this? Would checking the Windows minidump files with WinDbg help identify the faulty driver? Is there anything else I should check regarding the PIN issue?

I have recently acquired an Ugreen KVM switch model AK700, it's a model with all displayport in and out for 2 monitors and 2 pc. It works fine but i tried using a dp to hdmi cable and got no signal.
For context i have an ultrawide monitor dp (which worked fine with the kvm) and a samsung 1080p monitor with only hdmi and vga.
Doing some research (mostly AI) apparently a specific active dp to hdmi adapter might work but i'm not sure.
How can i solve this 'problem'?

I factory reset my computer and now i dont know what the password to my gmail account is. is there any way to recover the gmail or all of the data. would there be a way to log in because i have already logged into my gmail on this computer or did that data get wiped when i factory reset the computer

Was trying to join a Minecraft SMP, and the SMP's discord made it where I had to verify my Microsoft account to enter, was tired so stupidly put it in and now my email and password is changed. I've tried many processes to no avail. I there any support I can contact? I heard Microsoft doesn't have an official email to send to. Sigh, and if not is there a way to verify that I own Minecraft and get back into that hopefully?

google gave me some suggestions:
i have tried it on Chrome, Edge and explorer.
i have tried it in incognetio.
i have cleared my cache and cookies.
i have tried to add files as both pdf and docx.
i have tried drop box and google drive.
i have turned off all browser extensions.
I have double checked the file size is not too large.

Every time I go to log in in a windows app, such as microsoft store or Xbox, the login goes fine till after putting my pin it says: an error ocurred,try again. Now the wierd thing is that When I log in to microsoft store or Xbox in the web (microsoft store. Com) I can login easilly. This problem affect every other microsoft service. Windows 11. I only use windows defender that comes with it. I previously used a paid Kaspersky Total but haven't used that in a while. I know I can't use it anymore.

I have a lot of chrome windows and tabs open. So imagine 7 chrome windows and there is over 10 tabs open each for. Whenever I turn on my computer and open the chrome browser, all these chrome tabs restore to the same pages it was in before I shut it down. I have that setting saved where it remember my last web pages.

I noticed in one of the tabs, it showed untitled which is a bit strange. I then click on the tab and notice it has something showing like this on the chrome address bar

To the left of the C there is a Small circle and question mark and the word File next to it. When I click on the Small circle and question mark with the File which is all together, it says You're viewing a a local or shared file.

The XXX that I typed is a program that I use and it's on my desktop. How did this show up in my chrome web browser because I don't believe I clicked on anything that caused this. I read it's possible it's browser hijacking? Is there a way I could have left or right clicked the program and then pasted that in the address bar for that to show up?

Someone mentioned Probably just accidentally dragged a shortcut into your browser. I don't believe I did this yesterday and I am pretty certain I didn't do this today.

I used windows defender for quick scan and full scan and it shows nothing I don't believe I can do the Microsoft Defender Antivirus (offline scan) because the last few times I tried, it did not work.

Is there a way to know if I have malware on my computer? Would I have to buy Bitdefender or Eset? Would either of those be able to check this?

但是偶爾還是會發生電腦睡眠時過熱，系統保護自動轉成休眠的狀況
最後我發現一個狀況是當電腦已經在休眠狀態並且是接上電源，我要移動到下一個辦公地點我會直接移除電源，後續使用電腦就會發現已經過熱系統保護進入休眠
整個過程中只有3-5分鐘
查看了system power report
有個unknown 消耗了9600mW然後就過熱轉休眠了
我已經排除了會讓我系統喚醒的各個因素
但是針對這個拔掉電源的狀況，有沒有更好的設定方法，能讓系統不會過熱保護，我需要我還在工作的狀態下每次打開筆記本都是隨時能快速喚醒並進入之前的工作狀態

My microsoft account was hacked and microsoft is not helping recently my pc was hacked and i lost acess to many accounts, including my microsoft account, i recovered almost everything, but i cant recover my microsoft account bc the support isnt helping, look: i was hacked and they changed every credential of my account (i got emails and what email it was changed to), i tried to contact support and they were helping until they sent an email asking for some informations, i responded them, (this was on october 13) i waited and answered some forms to recover my account and no response. today i sent an email asking for a response and they sent me an email that i will put down here saying that my case was closed (???), i tried contacting support again and they sent me another email asking for my credentials, and again, i answered everything. a few minutes later they responded with the EXACT SAME email saying that my case was closed, i tried asking support and they said that its an automatic message and that microsoft is reviewing my case, but idk if i believe in that, i tried to inform them everything abt the account and nothing, what should i do?

PS: i created another account with the same email that was hacked, and informed them. i also have the receipts of my purchases in the account and i sent them that as well.

My laptop, 2025 ASUS ZEPHYRUS G14 9i 32gb comes up with this error I try to boot it, me and my brother have tried trouble shooting a lot, searching up whatever videos on youtube have, but idk what to do anymore cause none of it works😭

I think my Microsoft account was compromised after I entered a Microsoft verification code while verifying on a Minecraft server.

When I tried signing in, Microsoft said my original email address wasn't associated with an account anymore.

I don't have a recovery phone number or backup email linked to the account. I've tried Microsoft's account recovery form, but I can't proceed because it asks for an email address I don't know. I've also been unable to reach support because the human verification keeps failing.

I am able to provide proof I own the account if Microsoft support actually worked.
