I've been working on this tool that allows anyone to create a style guide for any publicly accessible website. Colors, fonts, favicons, and more.

Take a look at https://sitestyleguide.com/ - what do you think?

Little surprises I’ve hidden around the site.

What do you think about little touches like these? Things that are hard to measure in numbers, but bring a smile to users who stumble upon them.

What Makes a SaaS Website Look Professional Without Feeling Generic?

A lot of SaaS websites seem to follow similar layouts, gradients, illustrations, and hero sections.

For designers here, how do you make a website feel polished and trustworthy while still giving the brand its own identity?

I'd love to hear which design choices make the biggest differencee.

What is the opinion on these animation-saturated vibe coded websites from real web designers?

I am seeing tons of these sites pop up everywhere in every industry, and wanted to know if there was anybody here who would be willing to offer maybe a different view I might not be considering.

In my opinion, as a motion / 3d designer who's used all kinds of software my entire life, I don't think adding all of this blinking-sliding-hovering-expanding-dithering nonsense all over the webpage helps clients or customers view or do what they came to the page for. Which is the whole point of the portal.

Like it's a digital storefront, not being optimized for user goals. Not to mention you risk lagging the user browser on x level of pc the more stuff is added.

Every client wants it to look "like Apple" & then sends 9 paragraphs for the hero

Happens every few projects.

Moodboard is apple.com, linear, stripe. Super clean, tons of whitespace, one big line of text.

Then the copy doc comes in. Hero has a headline, a subheadline, 3 badges, 2 CTAs & a paragraph about how the founder started in his garage in 2009.

Apple looks like Apple coz they say ONE thing per screen. That whitespace comes from cutting copy & you can't design your way into it.

I've started asking for the copy before I even open Figma. Half the time the "like Apple" brief quietly dies right there..

Hi! I'm building my portfolio under the name Astra Web.

I create website demos and use AI-assisted tools to help design, customize, and build websites for small businesses, stores, and personal projects.

My portfolio includes demo projects created to showcase my design ideas and skills. I'm currently looking for my first clients and offering affordable prices while continuing to improve.

Portfolio: https://astra-we.github.io/Astra-web/

I'm open to working with entrepreneurs, small businesses, and brands looking to establish their online presence.

I'm a UX/UI designer trying to turn my website audit process into an AI tool on a $1,500 budget. Day 2.5

Before I start, apparently some people on Reddit think I'm an AI bot. šŸ˜‚ I'm not. I'm a real UX/UI designer building a product with the help of AI tools. I also use AI to proofread my posts because English isn't my first language.

Anyway...

I've spent years reviewing websites and giving clients feedback on UX, UI, content, and marketing.

The problem is that a proper audit takes time, and many small businesses can't afford to hire a professional.

So I'm experimenting with building an AI-powered website audit tool.

The idea is simple: paste a URL, get a practical report explaining what's working, what isn't, and what to improve.

I've finished drafting seven specialized analysis prompts covering UX, UI, copywriting, content, accessibility, SEO, and marketing/conversion.

Now comes the hard part: building the engine and testing whether it can actually produce useful, accurate recommendations without me guiding and correcting it.

I'm particularly concerned about generic AI feedback, invented problems, and overwhelming people with 50 recommendations they don't know what to do with.

Wish me luck for now :)

I'm a young dev validating my first software product. Would love brutal feedback.

Hey everyone. I'm a young developer and I've been building something called Spotti. It's an auditor tool designed to scan landing pages for generic AI trends, overused hero layouts, and clichƩ UI patterns, then give practical fixes so sites don't look like cheap templates.

I have a working prototype with the backend pipeline, audit logic, and live landing page all running. Now I'm trying to figure out if founders and devs would actually pay for something like this before I push further.

I put up the beta to test demand here https://kexdev-kohl.vercel.app/

I built a weekly showcase of the best Squarespace websites

I’ve been working onĀ SQSP Weekly, a place to discover some of the best Squarespace websites and get fresh design inspiration every week.

The idea is pretty simple: every week, we feature a new selection of Squarespace websites with interesting designs, creative layouts, and unique approaches.

But instead of just curating everything ourselves, we also want the community to have a say.

You can browse the featured sites,Ā vote for your favorites, and help decide which Squarespace websites deserve the spotlight.

And if you’ve built something you’re proud of, you can submit your own Squarespace site for free for a chance to be featured in an upcoming edition.

The goal is to build a community-driven collection of great Squarespace websites that keeps growing every week.

Check it out: https://sqspweekly.com

Would love to hear what you think! Also, feel free to share your favorite Squarespace website in the comments. Always looking for great sites to feature.

[Free] [Template] [Framer] I made a free Framer template tailored for fractional leaders & consultants (Feedback welcome) šŸš€

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on a clean, modern Framer template designed specifically for fractional executives and consultants (CFOs, COOs, CMOs, etc.), and I wanted to give it away to the community for free.

I wanted to build something that goes beyond a standard landing page—it includes a layout where potential clients can easily understand service tiers and pricing structures.

Here is a quick overview:

You can check out the preview and grab it for free here:https://framer.link/Duoa6GY

I'd love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any suggestions on how I can improve it. Let me know what you think or if you end up using it for a project! šŸ™Œ

Need feedback on website

I work for a think tank that has been working on a website revamp. I’m not a web design professional and have been doing the best I can. Is anyone willing to take a look at the homepage and provide me with feedback on how to improve it? Can you tell me what you would rate the homepage from 1 to 10? The website is www.theaitable.org

This is a place doing similar work whose homepage I love. Of course, I’m not going to be able to get things to this level, but just to provide an idea of a well done site https://hai.stanford.edu/

Custom non bloated engine for my brand

Hi everybody I’ve been trying to build the ultimate engine or digital workstation for my brand and interest for a while now and honestly tryna figure out how to make a few dollars online for real and make it a real business I know it’s tough and I’ve been trying on and off for past 10 years it is honestly a passion at this point just doing little tech nerdy projects and designing and creating stuff looking for stuff to resell to keep the dream alive so instead of bloatware and corporate tech subscriptions I decided to build my own tech using rust and vanilla Java script so I could better control my environment and had this strange fantasy of wanting to whisper in my mother boards ear idk. www.blxckspxce.com ? Not too much she’s my baby ! If you’re interested I’ll send you an invite key if you think you could use it. This is a free promotion , the site is brand new and is fully built on rust , no plug in bloat the only thing that is plugged in currently is Google fonts but I wanted to launch it . I don’t need your critique, if you can use it lmk if not, that’s ok !! This is my own brain honestly it looks like most modern tech sites but I’ve been liking black forever so this is all me . If you critique it , it should be nerdy critique stuff !

Are templates still useful?

For those using AI to build websites, how much time do you spend getting the design to feel right?

I’ve been working on Tabbied, a side project with website templates and customizable patterns. It got me wondering whether those templates are more useful as starting points for AI coding tools…something with the layout, typography, and colors already worked out that you can build on.

Would that fit into your workflow, or do you prefer letting AI generate the design from scratch? Trying to understand whether this solves a real problem for other website designers.

I’ve been screenshotting websites that inspired me since 2001. Here are almost 4,000 of them, sorted by date

Post image
297 Upvotes

For over twenty years, every time a website caught my eye I grabbed a screenshot and dropped it into a folder. As an art director it was my way of keeping track of what felt fresh at the time. The folder quietly grew to almost 4,000 images.

I finally turned it into a browsable archive:
https://dmdev.it/webscreens

A few things you’ll notice scrolling through:

  • the early 2000s: Flash intros, tiny fixed-width layouts, 1024Ɨ768 everything
  • 2008–2010, the peak of the collection: glossy buttons, huge hero images, the rise of ā€œweb 2.0ā€
  • the slow shift toward flat design, big typography and full-screen photography

Each screenshot is dated to the day I saved it. You can filter by year with the timeline at the top, or hit ā€œRandomā€ and just get lost.

No ads, no tracking, just the archive. Happy to hear which era hits you hardest.

Edit:Ā thanks for all the comments! Since a few of you asked what browsing the web felt like back then, I also rebuilt the archive as if it were 2005: loading bar, ā€œskip introā€, pixel fonts, a working guestbook and only the 2004–2006 screenshots → https://dmdev.it/webscreens/2005/

Built a Stunning UI? Get Paid Without Giving Up Ownership

Please read the body before applying. No DMs/comments — only email submissions will be considered.

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for tasteful web work from design engineers, product designers, AI product designers, and UI/UX designers who've built beautiful web projects.

What I'm buying

An exclusive 1-year right to take screenshots and screen recordings of your project work. Up to $150.

What you keep

  • Full ownership of your work. We hold no rights to the projects themselves
  • The right to keep showing it in your portfolio
  • Fast payout once it's verified, usually almost immediately
  • A simple written agreement covering all of this

What counts

  • Project work only, not portfolio sites
  • Live, deployed sites are preferred, but they don't have to be public. Private links and staging builds are welcome

How to submit

Email [aaron@terac.com](mailto:aaron@terac.com) with links to the projects you're offering.

Heads up: emails without project links, or emails that only ask questions, will most likely go unanswered. We're getting a lot of submissions.

Got a lot of work?

If you have 10+ projects, mention it in your email. I'm happy to do a quick 15-min call and pay above the standard rate.

Referrals

Know someone with great work? Send them our way. We pay for every referral that converts, based on quality.
