The sky is the ceiling

My house has always rooted at AU and UGA coincidentally but I knew and still believe that UGA is the true number 1 team in the country

After Auburn winning that game in their home turf I swear you can win every other game this season because truly everybody is beatable

We went after dog talking AG and Byrum and won that game on their turf with “worse players” also without X Atkins

I believe we can win it all after that but that takes consistency from game to game

Should and where should Auburn be ranked come Monday?

Auburn post this Georgia win has a resume with only two losses(Tennessee played hard and close, and Florida by a score.) Wins over Baylor, Southern Miss., Vandy, and Georgia. Coming off this win and Coach Golesh showing adjustments within the coaching staff it is trending in a healthy direction. The whole Kirk Herbstreit comment of “Quality Losses” comes in effect as well as much as I hate the term.

Side note: Wife is a bammer and wasn’t happy with the argument that Auburn should be ranked higher than Alabama if ranked. Auburn Played Tennessee closer on the road, and beat Georgia. Florida tho being a loss, DJ Durkin made the changes needed, and the offense used this bye week to stick to what they are good at and re evaluate.

Anyone Else?

Awesome win, but is anyone else a tiny tiny bit annoyed that it took until game 6 to make the offensive adjustment every fan with a brain had been screaming for since game 1? We started running Byrum more and we were able to get our run game going which then led to more opportunities in the passing game and the defense getting more rest. I know I should just be happy with the win, but feel like we could have gotten the Tenn or Fla game if we would have made that adjustment sooner. Pumped to watch the game next weekend. Haven’t felt like this about Auburn football in a long time. War Damn!

My own people laughed at me. Called me an idiot. Said I was on drugs. Because I said I felt confident in us to win. Golesh proved my belief to be right. He is the savior. WAR DAMN EAGLE.

Say what you will about Gus...

Gus did great things for Auburn while he was here. But what he couldn't do was score in Athens.

2014: (16) Georgia 34 - 7 Auburn (9)
2016: Georgia 13 - 7 Auburn (8)
2018: (5) Georgia 27 - 10 Auburn (24)
2020: (4) Georgia 27 - 6 Auburn (7)

Didn't get any better with Harsin or Freeze

2022: (2) Georgia 42 - 10 Auburn
2024: (5) Georgia 31 - 13 Auburn

Golesh's first game in Athens?

2026: (1) Georgia 24 - 27 Auburn

It felt like the past decade we went into Athens expecting a loss, and just waited for the next year to get them at JHS. This year we went in and did it ourselves. Against the highest ranked Georgia team we've faced in Athens, no less

Bowl eligibility looking more possible now

Need wins over Arky and Samford to get to 6 wins.

However, after the win against Georgia, 6 wins could be just the starting point.

Opinion If we still had harsin or freeze, we would've lost that game

Are we gonna make the playoffs? Probably not. But things really do feel like hey...maybe things are starting to look up for us! I really think at the least our dark ages are over. We've been at each other's throats for ages and a couple of you I have openly taunted for being doomers I'll confess. But we have a moment to be proud again and we clearly ARE on the right path forwards. We have physical proof before our eyes tonight! So now's the time to confess your dooming sins and let us get in a little ribbing (dont go TOO hard on them lol we're all basically traumatized from Freeze after all).

Before you get gaslit, here are the facts.

Also, head-to-head in B/D and Jordan-Hare, Aub has a three game lead.

Kirby during the last play right before the ball was hiked. Refs thought he was clapping so play went on. Kick was good.

Opinion SEC reffing is horrendous lately

I’m proud of the team for how much fight they’ve had all season and especially yesterday. I think it’s a fantastic sign for our program changing for the better. HOWEVER, I’ve noticed that in so many games this season (not just Auburn games), refs are just being blind to holding penalties. Almost every replay during the game yesterday, I saw Georgia players and our players committing holding penalties. I don’t know the exact number of calls actually made, but if I’m not wrong, it was only a couple the entire game. While I’m glad we benefitted from some of the missed calls, it’s also just a bad standard to have for the team mindset. They are still committing those penalties and it’ll eat us eventually.

I don’t even need to go into how many bad and missed calls benefitted Georgia, like that pass interference ruling about the ball that was definitely not catchable. I just want to be able to watch the games and have the refs show an ounce of common sense and respect for the games rather than the big name teams

Football In one game, Alex Golesh has surpassed the amount of wins @UGA as Gene Chizik, Gus Malzahn, Bryan Harsin, and Hugh Freeze collectively had in 17 seasons as head coaches.

Not even including Tuberville’s last 3 seasons following our last win @UGA in 2005

So………… they turned out to be a good omen?? I wouldn’t have guessed it.

Opinion Byrum Brown Appreciation Post

Byrum took more abuse and late hits than any QB this Saturday and didn’t run afraid the whole game. For all the criticism he’s gotten this year the guy balled out for four quarters and shoved it down THUGA’s throat. If that isn’t an Auburn QB I don’t know what is, that guy is a gamer and a tough SOB. War Damn Eagle
