1000+ Steps, Bacchus Marsh,. Victoria Australia

1150 steps over 1.35 kilometres with a small section of hill at the top and bottom. Total distance to the topl is just over 1.5km.

Climbed the steps 6 times.

I wanted to do 21km and 7 sets of stairs but I could feel myself getting sunburned and I was feeling uncomfortably hot in the midday sun so I pulled the pin.

Still managed to get just under 1100 metres of elevation which I was happy with.

Anyone else addicted to the walking + daydream combo?

The dopamine hits I get from putting on headphones, walking, and daydreaming in loops I get is astounding. I day dream all the damn time so walking brings out the clear headed, healthier version of it. Killing two birds with one stone

Goosebumps are so common for me with that combination and it's soooo nice. If I walk at night it can be such a cathartic experience with the right music and thoughts going.

I've used several different walking apps and currently using MapMyWalk. Anyone using something they're really impressed with?

Other Sedentary job

Hi, i work a sedentary job and at best I would get 2,000 steps in while at work. Now I have increased it to about 6,000. I have 2 10 min breaks and I use the last 15 mins of my lunch to walk after eating. This is how much I got in at work. End of the day I try to hit minimum 12,000 but yesterday I hit 15,000 and I want that to be my minimum per day. Goal is to build up to 20,000 steps daily.

Question I just bought Brooks Adrenaline GTS and i HATE them!

Can someone PLEASE recommend me a different pair of walking shoes (WIDE FEET). With the brooks adrenaline, the midfoot arch section is wayyy too hard and narrow. I got new insoles and i can still feel the ridiculously hard arch.

Recommendations Smart walking shoes, can I find those?

I’m looking to buy a pair of comfortable walking shoes, but not trainers. I work in sales in an office, so I need something that looks smart enough for work.
I usually spend around 2–3 hours a day walking to get my extra steps in during work, so I’m after something lightweight, comfortable and suitable for lots of walking, but still smart-looking.
Does anyone have any brand recommendations, or know what I should search for on Google to find something like this?

Challenge Day 22/30 walking 15k steps

Woot! Another day of 15k steps done! I’m not going to pretend every day is exciting, but I’m proud of myself for staying consistent and actually following through with something I set out to do. That’s not something I’ve always been great at. I keep getting asked what happens at day 31 & I’m just going to keep this going! This challenge has become so much more than just hitting a step goal. I’ve noticed changes in my mood, mental clarity, sleep, and just how I feel overall. I don’t want to lose the progress I’ve made by stopping just because the 30 days are up.

Also, thank you to everyone who has been so kind and supportive throughout this challenge. All the encouragement and everyone cheering me on has genuinely helped keep me going and motivated me to keep showing up every day. It means a lot to know that people are following along and rooting for me, and I appreciate you all more than you know!

Outdoors Morning Walk on the Waterfront

Post image

Broke my ankle this summer just as I was starting my fitness journey, but the boot is off and I’m back at it! After being on crutches and then a cane, I’ll never take walking for granted again!!

This is the waterfront walkway in my town. It’s exactly one mile round trip, so it’s a a great quick walk in the morning. I find if I walk first thing in the morning, I’m more likely to make healthy choices the rest of the day.

Walking with Friends is lifehack. But my friends walks 14K

I started walking with friends, and it turned into a bit of a competition.

It helps me to walk more. I'm up 7% compared to last month. The only downside is that my friends walk much more than me, sometimes doing 14K a day. :)
