Question for UNT students living in dorms with sensitive skin or eczema

Hey everyone,

I am a graduate student and Texas mom whose family deals with sensitive skin and eczema flare-ups. I have heard from several college students that dorm water and communal bathrooms can really irritate your skin, and campus options for gentle hygiene products are pretty limited.

I am working on a project called First Year Fresh focused on curating full-size, hypoallergenic and dermatologist-recommended essentials like Cetaphil lotion and cleanser alongside Dove Sensitive care specifically for college dorms.

For those living in the residence halls: what personal care or sensitive skin basics do you run out of first mid-semester? Would love to hear what UNT students actually need most.

Tips for new students?

Hello! I was accepted to UNT a little less than a month ago (their admissions move QUICK), and I was trying to compile a list of things I'd need for college come next year. Do y'all have any tips as to what to expect or things I should look into purchasing/bringing from home? I got accepted for Health Informatics and would like to live on campus (probably a dorm) my first year, if that changes anything. Thanks! :)

About scholarship

Hey everyone! I recently transferred to UNT, and this is my first semester here. I received the UNT Transfer Excellence Scholarship, which also gives me in-state tuition.

I’m worried that my GPA might fall below 3.00 this semester (maybe around 2.5–2.75).

I called UNT Financial Aid yesterday and explained my situation multiple times. The representative told me that since my scholarship was awarded for the entire academic year, I should be fine as long as I bring my cumulative GPA back to 3.00 or above by the end of spring.

However, I also emailed the scholarship office, and they replied that eligibility is evaluated semester by semester, which confused me.

Has anyone actually been in this situation? Did you lose your scholarship or in-state tuition waiver immediately after fall, or were you allowed to improve your GPA during spring?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced this, especially Transfer Excellence Scholarship recipients. Thank you!
