Did I win the panel lottery?

I’m looking forward to get my first OLED ULTRAWIDE monitor but there’s so many to choose from and I’m honestly lost.
My budget is around $1500-$1700 CAD, preferably 40” plus screen. 4K or 5K resolution with a nice refresh rate around 240-330hz. I mainly play first person shooter games competitively. I would like to get an ultra wide with more vertical depth rather than horizontal. Any recommendations with the specs listed is high appreciated. Thank you for the help ;)

Upgrading my LG Ultrawide to the AW3426DW. Does anyone dual stack ultrawides or should I keep my 1440P for YouTube/Discord. What are your thoughts?

Hi everyone!
I'm planning to buy a PS5 Pro soon, and I'm looking for a reliable HDMI to DisplayPort adapter.
My monitor:
Samsung Odyssey G5 34" Ultrawide (LC34G55TWWPXEN)
Specifications:
- Resolution: 3440 × 1440
- Maximum refresh rate: 165Hz
- HDMI 2.0
- DisplayPort 1.4
My problem:
I can't get 120Hz from a PlayStation through my monitor's HDMI connection. To achieve 120Hz, I need to use the DisplayPort input with an active adapter.
My goal is to play Call of Duty: Warzone at 2560 × 1440 and 120Hz on the PS5 Pro, with the lowest possible input lag.
I was considering the UPTab UP-HDMI2DPG2 adapter, but it's currently difficult to find.
My questions:
Which active HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4 adapter would you recommend?
Has anyone successfully tested such an adapter with a PS5 or PS5 Pro at 1440p 120Hz?
Are there any reliable adapters that work without black screens, signal drops or other issues?
Has anyone tested this specifically with the Samsung Odyssey G5 34" ultrawide monitor?
I'm looking for a proven solution that actually works, not just an adapter that claims to support 120Hz on paper.
Any recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Just got the alienware 39" oled. Not really happy with the brightness overall. I am coming from a LG 34 UW IPS display as my main internet monitor and an LG c1 TV.
I just want view reddit, YT, and gmail in SDR since windows 11 has terrible HDR desktop. I noticed my eyes are straining due to lack of brightness.
Has anyone returned the Alienware and gotten the LG for this reason? Is the LG a much better normal PC monitor that you can use to read the internet?
Any tricks to getting netflix to stream in 4k on a pc?
Thanks for any info.

I've been a console gamer all my life and made the switch to pc recently. I was content with playing on my TV, but after a bit of research and having always thought that Ultrawide looked super cool I ended up with a G9 OLED. I had concerns about going to 1440p since I usually game in 4k but the experience has been fantastic so far.
The wider view is an experience I've never had before in gaming and time will tell if it's my preferred method.

I bought few months ago AW3425DWM which I love and I'm looking to get another ultrawide for my setup. So since I don't have any issues should I go with it or buy the newer model?

Hey there, looking for UW recos for my very first upgrade from 27” ips 165hz, i dont really think i need 200+hz since i mainly play aaa games and only using 9070 xt. I see an asus rog oled HDR XG34WCDG for $999 cad 34”. I think it goes on sale sometimes but wondering if its a good monitor for an ultrawide introduction

I just picked up the aforementioned monitor because I thought I might like it more than the Alienware, especially with all the problems I’m hearing about. However, after playing with it for about 10 minutes, I already know it’s going back. The colors are just awful. I can barely tell it’s an OLED. I’m absolutely flabbergasted. I’ve had the Asus PG 32UCDM and before that the LG C2/cx and they all looked fairly comparable. But this one is just completely unsaturated and bleak. I don’t get it. I’m wondering if I have some things set wrong? Does anyone else have this monitor and impression? It’s running in HDR mode. I’ve tried the different monitor settings, but I mean even on standard mode no other OLED that I’ve had looked like this.

(Writing this while waiting for my aw 3926qw to arrive at some point...)
I went to the extent of buying a "service remote control" for my oled TV just so I could disable its auto dimming.
There's some chance I'll be able to bear with the 3926qw, but that chance is low, based on past experience.
Buying the LG 39" 5k2k is not really an option due to price and LG being spying assholes.
I heard a loose rumor that Asus would bring out an 39" 5k2k oled at some point, but I have no idea when it might arrive.

Question for you guys regarding the new Alienware.
So I am looking into upgrading my monitor, and I have my eye on two monitors. One is the AW3225QF, and the other is the AW3926QW. I have watched a ton of reviews of both. However, while I have been able to find reviews for both, I have only been able to find footage of Destiny 2 on the smaller 32".
I was just curious if anyone on this sub has played Destiny 2 on the new Ultrawide, and if so what your experience was like. If you have footage even better, but honestly just your personal opinion on your experience works. Just want to discuss with people who have owned it so I can make an informed decision

Hey, I've written here a couple of weeks ago. I haven't made any progress on my decision, I'm hoping that with a picture of my desk the direction of what to go for is easier to point out. I'm certain that my desk area is too bright, in the picture all light comes from the two lamps, the weather outside was overcast/raining.

I was at my MediaMarkt today and they surprisingly had a couple of 34" screens on display:
Peaq PMO G343-CWQE 199€
Philips 34M2C6500 499€
LG 34WRQ50QK-B 235€
Samsung C34G55TWWP 273€
AOC CU34G4 268€
They all sadly just ran some looped ad-clips or where turned off, so I can't really say much about real impressions.
During my (hopelessly) way too long research phase I've also stumbled upon the GigabyteM34WQ, a 144hz Fast IPS 34" 1440p flat panel.
I feel so miserably overchallenged in this regard.

Ordered on day of release and was expecting it in November after the changes of delivery etc but it actually arrived today.
The first thing I noticed when I switched it on was significant dimming on the right and figured it was just my eyes adjusting as my laptop is there on the right so assumed those oleds were playing havoc with my focus.
Did a test and it's not looking good.
I've tried turning hdr off and it's still the same, checked the software of the monitor and it's up to date.
Am I right in thinking the only next step is a return/replace?
I wouldn't be so bothered but I'm using it for a lot of productivity and well, it's a grands worth of monitor...

Hi everyone, I hope this post is allowed on here.
My AW3926QW is shared between my desktop (DisplayPort) and my work laptop (USB-C). Every switch meant reaching behind the screen and clicking through the on-screen menu to Input Source. Several times a day. It got old fast.
I looked around first. The monitor makers' own apps are usually heavy and Windows-only, and the open-source tools I tried felt cumbersome for something that should be one key press.
So I wrote my own: Monitor Input Switcher (very clever name, I know !).
What it does
monitor-input-switcher switch USB-C) if you want to script itHow it works
It sends the same DDC/CI command your monitor's own menu uses (VCP 0x60, Input Source). No drivers, no background service, no runtime: one small binary.
It talks to the monitor directly: raw I2C on Linux, Windows' built-in monitor API on Windows. The command goes out instantly; the rest is just your monitor changing input.
It runs on Windows 10/11 and Linux (KDE Plasma).
I built and tested it on my AW3926QW, but nothing in it is model-specific: it should work with any monitor that supports DDC/CI.
If you try it on yours, I'd love to hear whether it works, especially on other ultrawides.
Free and open source (GPLv3).
Feedback, bug reports and feature ideas welcome!

I was playing around and seem to have come across a solution that I haven't seen posted here, so I thought I'd post it. The dimming/desaturation issue is worst (for me) with strategy games that have lots of static elements in the corner. The two I play most at the moment are CIV VI and Total War Warhammer 3.
Since neither game has HDR, when I got the new monitor I obviously played them in SDR mode (with the standard preset). This is when dimming is most obvious. In CIV VI the corners dim significantly while in TW:Warhammer 3 the desaturation is quite noticeable.
Today I tried HDR mode (gamer mode preset) with both games and noticed that the game looks just as good (better actually, not sure why) as SDR and the dimming/desaturation reduces to the point where it's not super annoying anymore.
The SDR standard mode preset seems to be the worst for dimming.
Thought I'd post this here in case it helps anyone.

Hey,
I have decided to order myself the 45 inch 5k2k monitor (the one without AI upscalling). Here in Poland its currently for 5500 PLN with tax included which translates to around 1260 Euro or 1400US dollars. I am curious before ordering if there are any issues with this lg i should be aware of, and how is the process of EU LG warranty and returns. For example my alienware oled which i own right now had a known black screen bug with somehow the driver or whatever blocking the screen and not turning it on, i didnt know this and this bug actually appeared after like 3 months and i had to return and i got replacement easily with no issues. I was pretty happy with the Dell service for any of my previous momitors, yet i never had an LG one thats why I am asking around experience with them here, and for any potential known issues with the monitor itself.

I have a 57" Neo G9 (7680×2160). Maximizing anything, or playing a game in borderless fullscreen, stretches it across the whole panel, which is awful. Shrinking the Windows work area messes up the taskbar, and FancyZones doesn't keep borderless-fullscreen games in a zone. So I built DisplayWeave.
What it does
You draw up to 9 regions on your monitor with a ruler-style editor, e.g. 1980 | 3720 | 1980.
When you maximize a window or a game goes borderless fullscreen, DisplayWeave automatically fits it into the region it's in.
Your desktop and taskbar stay normal size. Nothing is loaded into the app; it only moves the window from outside.
Per-app rules for the exceptions, when an app doesn't behave with the automatic fit:
Borderless in region, for games that resize themselves back to the full screen.
Centered fullscreen, which uses your GPU's centered scaling for exclusive-fullscreen games in the middle region.
Ignore, for apps it should never touch.
An opt-in Force fullscreen for apps that need it.
Layout profiles, remembers which region each app was last in, and you can hold Shift while maximizing to skip it once.
Why it might be useful to you: if you have a 32:9 or 49"/57" panel and want a 16:9 game in the middle with Discord or a browser on the sides, without black-bar hacks or changing your resolution.
Honest caveats
Windows 10/11 x64 only.
Exclusive fullscreen is never confined (that's what the Centered option is for).
Force fullscreen loads a component into the app, so anti-cheat may flag it. Don't use it on multiplayer games. Everything else stays outside the app.
Apps that aren't DPI-aware come out the wrong size when Windows scaling is above 100%.
It's an early 1.x, so expect rough edges with some games.
Free and open source (MIT), and code-signed. The installer needs no admin rights, and updates are signed and checked before they install:

Feedback and bug reports are welcome. There's a "diagnostic report" button that strips your paths and usernames before you post one.

Anyone else using this on a 32-inch monitor? I tested it on Assetto Corsa Rally & Evo, and after adjusting the cockpit view, the image looks great—but only at 120Hz. At 3840x1600 resolution, the image is sharp and HDR looks fantastic. I also tried forcing the resolution to 3840x1600 in the Nvidia panel and running ACR in automatic and windowed mode, but the colors seemed slightly off and not as good as in Samsung mode.
