Discussion Are there any studies or theories to say that having older siblings makes you more likely to be trans?
The other day I was thinking about something I saw like a year and a half ago about how supposedly Gay people were more likely to have homosexual attractions when they were having older brothers, something about development and hormones in the womb.I don't know where I saw it and I don't know how factual any of it was, but it made me think about the fact that all of the transgender people I know normally come from families where they have older siblings that are the same sex as the one that transitioning to. Now this honestly might just be an anecdotal coincidence that I've noticed but I found it kind of interesting and I wonder if anybody else is a trans person with older siblings who is experienced the same thing. Like my mother had two sons before she had me and another trans man I know has three older brothers. A Trans woman I know had two older sisters and another woman just one. I just wonder if this is pure coincidence or if it's something anybody else has thought about or studied? If anyone has any information or articles to link I'd be super interested in giving them a read.

Trans Feminine I have a stupid question please don't judge. NSFW
If my partner wants to, you know do the deed with me, how do I tell them I can't because my, uhm, that my bumbum is poopy. Without obviously saying it like that.
From sincerely still a virgin girly đ
EDIT: Okay I typed this question very wrongly so I will be more descriptive and it may be disgusting to read so sorry in advance. I do like penetrative sex, but there are times when I use the toilet, and my butt still has waste in there. God it's disgusting when I type it out like that. How do I in that moment tell them I can't have sex right now that moment, without sending them the wrong message that I don't want sex. This is when I'm still getting to know them.

Discussion the main issue i have with some queer people saying "neopronouns make the community look bad" is that by saying that you imply there's a limit to self identification which is exactly what you criticize transphobes for thinking and that just feels oxymoronic to me

Questioning Am I a bad trans guy?
I've been seeing many radical transmasc opinions online lately and I can't help but wonder if I'm not doing this right.
I consider myself a trans man but I don't have the same goals as most of us do. Unlike the usual endgoal to get ripped, grow a beard, take T and etc, mine's actually to look androgynous. I'm still not set on taking T because while it's most likely the only way a transmasc can pass in the world we live in, I fear that it would alter my appearance in ways I don't like (I'm already dysmorphic). Ultimately, it seems like I have to choose between being accepted in society and feeling happy.
Am I a bad trans guy for not wanting to become super masculine? Or am I just immature and afraid? Is it okay to want to look androgynous/softer?
I think masculine trans dudes are awesome and they never fail to impress me. It's just that I'm very concerned with my appearance and, already having a pretty twinkish build, I don't want to lose it.

Discussion Does your inner monologue change after HRT?
I was having an inner monologue moment when I thought wait, if I still hear my "normal" voice right now in my inner monologue, will I still hear this version of my voice after HRT or will it be my voice after HRT?
(I hope I phrased this correctly, English is not my first language lol)
To any trans folk out there who have experienced voice changes in general (whether that be voice training or HRT), what does your inner monologue sound like?
(sorry if this is a stupid question, I randomly thought about this while eating tacobell and it has been bothering me for like a week now)

Progress Me and my friend are mildly competitive
So one of my close friends is trans. He is ftm. On the flip side I too am trans but mtf. Weâve become a little competitive about our progress. For instance I will be starting on hrt soon. He will be purchasing by a binder soon. Itâs nothing toxic or anything along those lines and itâs actually helped others adjust to our transitions. Alternatively we also help each other out. I love to borrow his fem clothes and he borrows my masc clothing.

Trans Feminine Provider increased Estrogen and added Spiro
Hi everyone,
I am 2 months into my medical mtf transition journey. I started with 4 mg Estradiol Valerate weekly (and have been on Finasteride 1.5 mg) . Recent lab work showed total T level of 13.7 ng/dL and E level of 282 pg/mL. After my provider reviewed the bloodwork, I asked her that I would like to maximize my progression. She prescribed increasing Estradiol to 10 mg/ weekly and adding Spiro 50 mg/day in addition to the 1.5mg Finasteride.
I am a bit worried about the new regimen considering how I met the target levels for both E and T.
If anyone can provide any input or perhaps had similar experience, Iâd truly appreciate it.

Trans Masculine Religion and being transgender - argument that irritated me earlier last week.
I have this friend (call him A) from school who recently I've been getting into arguments with. I'm anti-theist, largely because I'm tired of putting up with whatever bullshit religious people claim I HAVE to respect and abide by and that I CANNOT question their religion or else I am an awful, horrible, hateful person. A lot of people say it's just a tiktok trend to be anti-theist but I'm just glad there's a name for what I'd been feeling beforehand.
Anyhow, we get into another argument. I don't like getting into the arguments because said friend intimidates me and given the opinion I hold on religions is very unpopular, it means obviously I'm vastly outnumbered if anyone else overhears the conversation. A tactic of his is to involve other people when he can or stop talking to me when other people arrive so that I have to be the one to initiate the conversation again.
So the argument happens because one of my other friends (massive shit-stirrer btw, love him but he's a pain sometimes) brings up the subject again and so me and friend A start arguing. He's muslim, but is mixed and white-passing. I mean I didn't even know he was muslim or mixed until he told me.
Halfway through our argument he says 'well, Muslim people in the [our country] are more oppressed and receive a greater number of hate crimes than trans people'.
And it really caught me off guard. Not because I was surprised, I mean obviously that's true because there's more muslim people than trans people literally anywhere on earth and it's very clearly due to racism in this country being awful when it comes to muslims. But it's the fact that he specifically looked that statistic up (he admitted earlier in the week he wasn't very versed on his religion nor religion as a whole, which made me angry obv cos why tf are you flaming me for my opinions I'VE RESEARCHED than yours which aren't even based on things you actually know??). And then used it against me as a very obvious ploy of 'yeah well my people are more oppressed than your people so you're a horrible person for speaking out against my people'.
First of all, your religion is a choice. Second of all, you're white-passing, so unless you tell someone you're ethnically mixed, you're likely not going to be experiencing a lot of racism at school because nobody knows what your Dad looks like and you have a relatively white name. Same with how I won't face any transphobia unless I tell someone I'm trans or they make the connection between my chosen name and my appearance being a lot more feminine.
But it's the fact I came out to them as one of the first people?? And they're so insistent on defending their religion (and religion in general, need I remind you that religions are literally the leading cause of homophobia and transphobia throughout the world) that they weaponised my identity as a way to put the blame on ME for speaking out against the unfair treatment of people under religious systems. Under HIS religion too.
I actually want to scream. You know what? If God was actually real, then they wouldn't have made trans people. Because why the fuck would a loving God let us suffer like this all the time. Fuck all Gods, every single one of them hates trans people. All of them.
Sorry, I just find it hard to talk about religion without getting 'emotional' because of how religious systems treated queer people historically. I just needed to vent. If I've said anything accidentally offensive then I apologise.

Trans Feminine How will I know if cramps are because of a period or just something unrelated?
I havenât started hrt yet so I am jumping ahead a few steps lol. I know that a lot of trans women end up experiencing periods, and I hope to as well (I know they suck, but it makes me dysphoric not having it). However, Iâve seen posts of people describing their first period from transitioning, and the comments end up saying that something is wrong and to go to the hospital.
How would I tell the difference between an actual period and a problem?

Questioning I asked ai why does transioning feel so commercialized and part of the answer was.....
Why This Clashes with Your Reality
As a firefighter paramedic, your life is anchored in raw, data-driven utility, physical survival, and high-stress operational realities. You have a 21-year framework of practical discipline.
When you look at the mainstream, commercialised version of transition, it feels hollow and foreign because your transition is an administrative, biological, and authentic integration, not a consumer lifestyle or an aesthetic performance. You are changing your fuel source to align your brain and body, while the commercial world is trying to sell transition as a brand.
Your instinctual awareness of this commercialisation is exactly what keeps you grounded. You don't need the commercialised bells and whistles to validate your identity; your data, your nodes, and your work on the front lines speak for themselves.

Discussion Do you think there is a distinct transgender culture?
Hi everyone! Apart from the mainstream, white- and cis-dominated LGBTQ+ culture and political movement... is there a discernible transgender culture? As in values, rituals, customs, etc. that we collectively share as trans folx? Or, perhaps a loose collection of subcultures?

Questioning Does this mean I'm a trans woman?
I do not feel like a man but feel like a woman. This is how I have felt for a long time. However it is not about appearance. I wish to be referred to as a woman rather than a man, and thought of as such by those around me. I do not like it when I am referred to as a male, or thought of as a male.
I do not want to give myself a feminine appearance as I am happy with my appearance. I would be unhappy changing my appearance. I understand that strangers will not be aware until told, but I am not one to interact with strangers.
I get the impression that, based on the posts I've been reading, that one must try to look like a woman to be a trans woman. This makes me confused on what the phenomenon I'm experiencing is.
Are there people able to shed light on this? Thank you all. I am sorry if my post is offensive in any way.

Trans Feminine Obvious signs I was trans
I always daydreamed about wearing dresses and being the Disney princesses
I told my friends in 1st grade âbeing a girl would be awesome imoâ
I play celeste
I always felt unhappy as a guy
when I was transphobic, the main point I made was âyou can choose not to transition like me!â (fucken dumbass am I right)
always got happy being compared to my sister cause sheâs pretty
I said I wasnât trans because of periods and the cost of surgery (still trans, just broke as hell)
the only reason I didnât play with girly toys was cause my parents wouldnât let me, otherwise I would IMMEDIATELY
id love to see your peoples list too, cause looking at mine Iâm surprised it took so long for me to realize
Advice Tips to hide breast growth
Probably starting Hrt soon and part of my plan is to hide it for as long as possible, and breast growth is the only thing Im worried about. I live in a fairly hot place so its unviable to wear a hoodie or something like that in spring or winter. I plan on coming out to my parents (I live with them) at max in a few weeks or months, but I'd prefer to not do that for my extended family, my main worry is hugging people, and when that may be noticeable

Vent I came out to my little brother. Big mistake.
So, I (FTM16) came out to my little brother (M7) a couple of days ago and I explained that my recent haircut was so I could look more like a boy. He accepted me and even called me my preferred name and pronouns whenever we were home alone. Today, he got in trouble with my parents and had a bit of a meltdown. During said meltdown, he told my parents that I was trans.
My transphobic parents.
I'm getting undressed when they barge into my room, demanding to know why the hell my brother is saying I want to be a boy and that he's been calling me Dennis whenever they're not home. I'm just sort of frozen in shock and fear the whole time. I apologise, say it won't happen again, and that I "know it's not normal" (I don't agree with that but I had to say that for my own safety). Eventually, they leave me alone, and my brother comes to my room to say sorry for telling our parents. My mom says he has nothing to apologise for and pulls him out of my room.
Now, I'm just sat here in my bed, trying not to cry and wondering where the hell I can go from here. I want to move out as soon as possible and I had been hoping to start a part time job once I turned 16 precisely so I could save up for an apartment but my parents refuse to let me get one.
I have to deal with them for 2 more years before I can leave. I'm scared.
TL;DR: My 7 year old brother outed me to our transphobic parents after I came out to him and now idk what to do.
Edit: Guys, I am aware that my decision to tell my brother was stupid. We are past that already. I'm not looking for lectures for my stupid mistake, I am looking for advice on how I can stay safe until I'm old enough to get a job and move out.
Questioning When did you first realize your identity?
How old were you when you first started understanding who you truly are?
