Total War: Warhammer End Times QA

This wont be popular but Do CA actually ever test their own game?

Every dlc is full of power creep which then breaks half the map as races can’t keep up.

Ignoring the previous balances where they simply make the player bias against you flip depending on who you play as, I refuse to believe this potential roll people talk about. I played as the white tiger and every order faction other than Cathay died out inside 75 turns. All of them. I never ever seen a balanced world in mid or late game. It’s always heavily favoured on whatever faction you are against.

CA I have zero interest in being the one savour and fighting the whole world, I want a warhammer experience.

Enemy lords still rush towards your lines and get themselves killed leaving their army behind!

The AI stacking armies is still happening!

Heroes will still push people when routing them and not attack and Calvary STILL go back for one unit.

I have seen multiple people talk about the end times is broken and can’t be finished or simply not fun due to inactivity from some races but I have not tried any of them myself yet

Now the end times is out and every big name is here as DLC, they can please actually try and improve the quality of life or have they fucked off to 40k which I have zero faith in now

Total War: Warhammer 40,000 How do you decide which campaign to start?

Just a discussion for the sake of talking about the game.

I am a very picky player. Mainly in terms of LL design/characteristics. For example, I like Skaven, but I dislike the newest one mainly because of it's a rat on top of a thing. That shit is so dumb and ugly, why would I ever play that instead of Ikit who's cool as shit in a Doomwheel

So that's already one thing that stops me from playing certain factions. But my main issue is the position on the map.

I like playing with Cavalry and I like the Fey Enchantress, but why would I ever play her when if I want to play the Wood Elves or Skaven, I'm 2 turns away from her capital. Same thing for the Brettonia in Lustria. Yuan Bo and The Masque are right there.

Then there are situations like Kairos where I love the area he's in, and I loooooove the roster, but I hate the fact that he's huge when he's a flying wizard (Same thing for Be'lakor)

Again it's not a complain. If I wanted to complain I'd have other things to talk about (Cough cough the AI on the campaign). I just want to talk about the game

Hey, I did not get the victory but have no idea why. My endgamecrysis is also done (it was Nagash). I don't have mods. Does anybody has an idea how I can still get the achievement for the victory?

Edit: Problem solved some turns later. The destroyed Reikland came back as a rebel facttion. After destroing it the victory has countet.

Total War: Warhammer Why get Vampire Count Heroes?

I really like Vampire Counts, and I hear that the Lords and Heroes are really important. Lords I understand, but I never find myself recruiting heroes. I often feel like my campaign expansion outpaces the time it takes for a province to finish building the necessary infra for a hero, and upping the capacity of stuff like Vampires is slow too. Then even when I do finish, I have to walk my hero all the way to my armies, which are usually somewhat far apart. How do you all use heroes in your VC campaigns?

Total War: Warhammer Thanquol / Skreech Quest Battle is unfair?

You have no space to place your army and after winning the first part Skreech makes his priority to die as fast as possible. I cant even reposition my army before he's down to his last 20%. How tf is this supposed to work exactly? And before anyone says it: I'm sure it's a skill issue, that's why im posting.

Total War: Warhammer Desactivar alertas de fin de turno

Post image
29 Upvotes

Total War: Warhammer Entire VC army has stalk, how?

Just fought a full VC that has stalk, every single unit from the lord to the zombies. It was a Helman Ghorst army, but not the man himself. It was pretty difficult to win with my Skaven weapons team army that could not see them coming.

I'm not too familiar with VC or Ghorst. What gave everything stalk? Is that a faction thing, an item, or something else?

If it matters, it is mid Nagash end game scenario. But Ghorst is still his own faction, not a part of the undead legions.

Total War: Warhammer I'm really discouraged TWWH3

I've been trying to improve my Warhammer 3 game, trying some new campaigns and what not, but it just seems like I can't accomplish anything in campaign without getting two or three war decks on me from 5th ranked Dark Elves(my neighbor) or a chaos faction....

I'm playing the dwarves right now, as the White Dwarf and struggling to nail down my second province because a Chaos faction holds the main settlement and Norsca holds the other two. I've managed to hold off Chaos and wiped out Norsca, claiming the two minors, but Chaos has yet another full stack sitting on the main and the DE's just declared war on me. They're ranked #5.

Am I doing something wrong? Is my thinking not right?

I'm looking for some constructive advice, or criticism or words of encouragement here. Any help would be appreciated. If you need more info let me know.

Total War: Warhammer Tzeentch's horrors should be able to split and I'm 100% serious

Tzeetch as a race is SO WEAK when it comes to melee, in general but ESPECIALLY in the early game. Their low-level options are primarily horrors and marauders, aka a unit that splits its power between being the only demonic infantry and the only ranged infantry and ends up being sub-par at both and marauders. Your frontline is so, so weak and so, so dependent on somehow consistently cycling it out to recharge barriers, which is incredibly inconsistent in every circumstance and only possible if you keep half your frontline on the sideline at all times. A poor frontline means no structure for your monsters, ranged attackers, flankers or spells to do ANYTHING, which means Tzeentch drops your core foundations to instead put points into every single other thing in the game that DEPENDS on those foundations.

Tzeentch's melee capabilities would be improved by 200% if they just gave the horrors their split ability. It could come with other nerfs to balance it, I don't care, reduce their hp pools a bit. just imagine if a unit of pink horrors could disintegrate and summon a full health unit of blue horrors in their place once they reach bellow idk 20% hp, that would be SO COOL AND UNIQUE and would be both a unique strength to exploit AND a unique weakness in their fragility! Then give the blues a simple "explode on death" ability that visually depicts screaming brimstone horror particles.

Suddenly your demonic frontline has way more juice. They're still weak little horrors, not too good at dealing damage which becomes even worse the more of them die, but you can plan around that because even if they get beat the first time they come back with full health and shields, full moral, full vigor and even full ammo!! But it's not like you can pull this for free every fight, because the unit would still DIE, either being removed from your roster or being replace by that very blue horrors unit that was summoned with ZERO exp, starting from scratch.

It is objectively the coolest thing about horrors in lore, and the devs were simply LAZY by not making even a SINGLE ATTEMPT to represent it in game. The pink horrors not splitting I can understand, launch was rough, all the factions were in rough states balance wise, it's a risky mechanic to include that could be OP if not handled right. But the BLUES not splitting?!?! I mean, it'd definitely be cool and preferable if we got a whole new brimstone horrors unit that only appears as temporary summons from this ability, but we don't even have to do THAT. Just give them an explode on death effect, or even a "damages entity that kills it" effect that would chase down ranged units, it would be so so easy, come on!

Total War: Warhammer A Grudge Too Far AND Vermintide in the same campaign?

Coop campaign with Glottkin and Throgg. We got a warning from impending Vermintide and then several turns later we got the Dwarf warning.

Now A Grudge Too Far has started with all which entails from that. Will Vermintide trigger on top of that or was it cancelled out by the Dwarf scenario?

Total War: Warhammer TW3: so I'm trying to trigger both crisis events and endgame crisis using the settings in the image. I'm at turn 25 and none of the crisis events has trigger. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Total War: Warhammer Is the End Times Vermintide supposed to be this easy?

Post image
68 Upvotes

I've been playing Boris Todbringer's campaign with the End Times Vermintide enabled, and I'm beginning to wonder whether the Skaven invasion is actually working as intended.

The screenshot is from one of the battles. Four minutes and twenty seconds in, and it's effectively over.

I've fought Lord Skrolk with a specialised army, followed by an assassin-heavy stack, against Elspeth and two Empire armies built around Karl Franz's composition. Despite the Skaven having plenty of their best units, the battles were surprisingly easy.

Even a level 10 Seneschal, commanding an army assembled from the best elements of two Elspeth armies, defeated a level 30 Skaven commander.

The problem isn't simply the leadership stat of individual Skaven units. It's the AI's inability to coordinate its army.

Enemy lords charge ahead of their troops, get themselves killed, and leave the rest of the army to collapse. Their infantry reaches the front line, clashes briefly, and routs. Weapons teams, assassins, infantry and characters rarely seem to work together effectively.

The Skaven have the numbers and the equipment, but they don't seem to have a battle plan.

On the campaign map, I'm also still waiting for the Under-Empire to spread into a meaningful threat. So far, the invasion seems to consist largely of armies appearing somewhere, getting destroyed, and disappearing.

I expected the Vermintide to create strategic problems through underground expansion, multiple fronts and overwhelming numbers. Instead, it's been a succession of fairly straightforward battles.

Are other players experiencing the same thing, or has anyone actually had the Vermintide put up a serious fight?

Total War: Warhammer Neferata Campaign - bug or intended?

Thumbnail

44 turns into my Neferata campaign and I am about to recruit a new Strigoi bloodline Lord from my Coven in Black Crag. I have researched and paid for Deathly Advisor, where the newly raised Lord is accompanied by a Necromancer hero. However when I pay 500 blood to raise my Lord only the Necromancer is spawned into the world. In order to bring the Strigoi Lord into being I have to fork out 1700 dark magic to recruit him from one of my settlements. Surely this can't be how it was intended? I am playing without mods of any kind. See attached screenshots.

Total War: Warhammer SUCH IS THE TREPIDATION OF NAGASH

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

NAGASH sent four of his finest armies to attack a single Dawi settlement that I had conquered last turn and left vacant while I crushed his vampire allies.

Obviously he must have known that a single Dawi is more than enough to kill any undead, including himself because they stood outside the small settlement for three turns until imminent surrender.

In that time two of his armies ventured beyond and were crushed by two of mine in a close defeat turned close victory.

I then "relieved" the garrison (they were all dead but the walking bones were still too scared to step inside until the following turn) and turned my eye towards the black pyramid.

Nothing to put in the book because NAGASH is nothing before Dawi steel.

Total War: Warhammer Louen in Patch 9

I'm struggling big time with Louen after patch 9. I've tried on N/N and H/H but just hitting a brick wall. I normally play on H/H with other factions and its generally a great experience.

I do the usual start recruiting 2 extra lords and 1 life lady to follow Louen around. No issues taking the starting Orc enemy's settlement and selling it to Marienburg. It normally goes wrong between that point and around turn 15.

I feel like I'm perhaps a little slow taking out Mousillon? Despite moving down there virtually immediately after the initial Orcs. This last run I went down there to kill off Mousillon and they had actually killed Lyonesse, so I retook that, after which I positioned myself just over the border and went into ambush stance with my supporting lords all around. The annoying part is that the Mousillon army just sat in their garrison. Perhaps it was due to my support lords being in encamp rather than force march, but I wanted to be in encamp to survive the vampire attrition, knowing I'd have to the full garrison stack inside Mousillon. The next turn Grom declares war on me, and starts moving up. A half size stack with half wagh army rocks up and I beat him up really badly, but of course he doesn't lose his army because... reasons? A second full stack Grom army + its full wagh is nearby, so I pull back to Lyonesse. They can still make it apparently, so they fight me there and its a Valiant Defeat, but I keep what's left of my army and pull further back to L'Anguille. While doing this, I sell Lyonesse to Mousillon in exchange for going to war with Grom which they accept. They get instantly destroyed and Grom continues to march after me.

I attempted to lay an ambush with Louen and support lords around, but naturally a goblin hero assassinates my Heavans damsel and spots the ambush. I tried to re-ambush but that failed again, likely due to their hero scouting. The battle was a complete wash with Louen somehow getting solo'd by Grom troll hag hero. Actually didn't realise how much weapon strength that thing has lol, but yeah. Very disappointing and frustrating experience as I just want to have some good ol' cav charge fun.

Total War: Warhammer Does anyone know what happened to the steam workshop?

I last played when the white tiger came out, enjoyed it, finished my campaign and then moved onto playing new stuff. Now that Nagash is playable I’m back and I’ve noticed quite a few mods are missing from the workshop entirely. Some of them are older ones that last I checked hadn’t been updated, like the sharkmen mod (I hope there’s a backup of it somewhere), others are ones that from my experience were kept updated regularly. Does anyone know what’s happened? Was there a purge of the workshop? A change in moderation? Also, is there anywhere else where these mods would be available?

Total War: Warhammer Ghoritch Badly Needs A Hotfix

Post image
• Upvotes

I'm not here to cry about powercreep Thanquol or about Ghoritch being underpowered (even though both are kinda true), I just wanted to shed light on this: Ghoritch's mass should also be 3500. It wasn't too long ago in patch 7.0 where the Mutant Rat Ogre (both the basic one and the RoR) got a Mass increased to 3000 (where previously it was 2500).

I think this is just a minor oversight, but you REALLY feel the difference during my tests. Ghoritch shouldn't be slapped around by other rat ogres, as he is supposed to be THE rat ogre on the Skaven roster (in my opinion).

That was all I wanted to report. I'm not really used to reporting stuff like this, so if there a better channel where CA is more likely to see this, I would very much appreciate if someone could direct me to it instead.
