Gourmet Meme Pov: The entire Bambina Arc in the gourmet world

Toei Animation made an anime adaptation of Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro's Toriko which ran from 2011 to 2014. The overwhelming majority of fans agree that the adaptation was not handled well- animation quality, censorship, and filler are chief among these concerns. Perhaps most confusing, the anime created it's own ending to the show when it was cancelled, while the manga was still running.
NOTE: If you have read all 396 chapters of Toriko, disregard this post and watch all of it!
Though consuming the anime instead of the manga is settling for a lesser quality experience, if you are more comfortable entering the series with an anime, pick from one of the viewing plans below.
Fresh: Episodes 1-22, then picking up the manga at Chapter 63. This allows you to still enjoy the next arc in all it's uncensored glory.
Still edible: Episodes 1-57, then starting the manga at Chapter 125. The anime arc after this selection is of bad quality and poorly represents the mysterious fourth Heavenly King.
Almost spoiled: Episodes 1-68, 88-111 (69-87 are SoL filler and optional) and then starting the manga at Chapter 194. This is basically your last chance, and nothing beyond this point is of value in the anime.
Fully rotten: Watching all the anime, then beginning the manga on Chapter 194. Good luck on purging the last few episodes of the anime from your brain!
When you're ready, head to the Want to catch up to the current storyline? section of this subreddit's sidebar. Have any questions? Post them below!

To finish where we left off.
Komatsu finally finished the century soup in just 6 months (insane, btw), and he kept his promises too and fed all of his friends(Komatsu the Goat). But now this means that he'll have a target on his back being the only person who can make the century soup, the gourmet corpse might slime his ahh fršš.
Toriko finally came back home and only to discover that it had been eaten, and so he commissioned an architect to build him a mansion which he ate with his friends and leaving him homeless (you can't make this shit upš). It was good seeing terry again, and seeing how much he had grown within those 6 months, i'm sure he's more powerful than before. I kinda missed him. i can't lie
We finally saw the boss..well... kinda we saw his silhouette, and what interested me was how his hair was flowing and how he snatched the century soup without his right hand noticing. It's almost like he had sensors like how sunny does, which leads me to believe that he might be related to sunny in some kind of way.
After 50 or so chapters, we finally got the reveal of the president of the IGO, and honestly thought that he would be younger. The president's name is ichiryu, and he's after GOD, the entree of the gourmet God acacia, and what's even more surprising is him casually mentioning that he was one of the 3 disciples of acacia and jiro and the boss of the gourmet corp was also one of themš² . I mean, wtf do you mean that you were a disciple??š How old are these people ?? š Granny setsu called you lil ichi and and she basically did the same for the boss, so how old are you guys??š What do you mean you're on vacation? the boss of the gourmet corp is busy leveling up, and you're on vacation ? Bro, you better slime him before shit hits the fan
And now toriko fought the president and got humiliated by himš. Ichiryu taught him how to skip on water by making him the skipping stone. And now he's on his way to go train for the gourmet world.
Toriko is great manā¤ļøš

To continue where we left off.
I finally found out who the mysterious master of teppei was, and it's a guy called yosaku. Toriko's hand got blown off in his fight with Tommy, and now he had to find yosaku on the island called Life.
And now toriko got a haircut, which I absolutely love, btw, and he's now basically in a state of super regeneration and if he doesn't eat at all while his arm is healing he's going to die.
I really like how the main character in this story is taking his time to heal his wounds(even if its at breakneck speed) , unlike other main characters who just magically become ok after going through a life-threatening battle. It kind of reminds me of the namek saga from dragon ball.
And while toriko is healing in life, komatsu is trying to recreate the century soup, and he's doing it at break neck speed. One thing I noticed about komatsu is that the food loves him, and the soup chose him for a reason. Granny setsu said that he should listen to the voices of food, and if he listens, then the food will lead him to the soup.
He's already made about 10 years' worth of century soup in about 3 months, which is crazy to think about because granny estimated that it'll take him about 20 years to make ,which is also even less time than it was for granny to make that same soup. It took granny 30 years to make an imperfect soup, and it'll take komatsu roughly a year to make a perfected version of the soup. That's insaneš.
We're dealing with a prodigy on our hands. It's like this dude is an actual gourmet god, a reincarnation of a god. Because there's no actual way this is possible. š
Who the heck memorizes thousands of ingredients and then improves them in less than a year?? š it's insane.
Im pretty sure that these ingredients are all sentient, and they are trying their best to help him recreate it. All of the ingredients are either super expensive or super rare.š
Also, im pretty sure that the wall penguin spit is also part of the ingredient, but I can be wrong, though.(No spoilers, please š)

These are the ones that attack the boat before it arrives in ice hell
"Great Leg" in the manga and "Sharkcrocodile" in the anime

At the beginning of Toriko what do you think his Capture Level was? I would say around LvL 20. After years of experience and hunting. Since his first real struggle was against the "Devil Python". In the Cavern Lagoon.

This is a long one, so buckle up!
I really love this anime/manga a lot! And I think itās so freaking cool. The world and the characters the different foods that are animals or just foods that obviously arenāt real and are two foods put together.
Like I have so many questions. Where does this take place? Like is it Earth? I know itās not going to be in our universe, but what is their planet called? Why is there just walking food animals or these different foods that are so weird?
Where did humans in this world come from and how did they just find these foods? Or like what made these people just eat these foods?
Speaking of eating š¤ if some islands are edible, like the trees, flowers, sometimes the rivers and animals. That includes the ground right? So would it be sanitary to eat? Like would it make you sick if you eat it? And then speaking of sanitary stuff, the animals.Animals have to poop right? And they have to mate. So likeā¦.what happens to their poop? I know there was a episode where they had to go to the drunken island and there were tumeric turds, but they didnāt seem like disgusted about eating poop cause itās like I guess their life and how they do things.
But it was always a thought in the back of my mind. So, going onto the characters. I know itās called Toriko so Toriko is going to be the main focus. But good lord, I want to see more of the characters. Like Zebra??? Omg first of all, thatās dada š I love that man. Heās so freaking interesting! His powers and his personality, I want to see more of him! Like I want to see more of the characters and their background, I want to see how Zebra grew up or how the other kings grew up and how they became so famous! Also the other kings, Sunny, Coco and Toriko.
Theyāre really cool. Toriko can actually be terrifying like, he looks like a wolf or more animalistic if that makes sense. Heās fine too. Like all four of the kings are extremely attractive, I wonder if they have one night stands tbh. Zebra and Sunny I can maybe see them having one night stands. But Coco and Toriko? Not really. Toriko seems to not have any interest in anything other than Komatsu and food. And then Coco is afraid of hurting people because of his poison.
Speaking of Komatsu (sorry this is going to be a long post!) itās a love hate relationship with Komatsu because I really do like Komatsu, I think heās a cool character. And he has a lot of potential as a character and he can grow. And heās a normal person so of course heās going to be scared out of his mind. But he cries a little too much, freaks out a little too much. Also, heās the same age as Toriko. 25 years old. They couldnāt make him look older? Like obviously the mangika (donāt know if thatās spelled right) can draw adult characters so why in the hell couldnāt he make Komatsu look like a grown man? Like I know there are young looking 25 year olds, but they couldnāt make him a little muscular and a little taller? I know standing next to the Kings will make anyone look tiny (especially standing next to Zebra) but come ON š© itās ridiculous!
But he also inspires people and I like that he doesnāt give up no matter what! Itās a cool trait. Kind of reminds me of Usopp!
I really like that heās not a Mary sue. Like he messes up and heās not perfect and we can see him grow. Of course he has high Gourmet Luck so not a lot of people have it. I just want him to likeā¦be better. If that makes sense.ALSO also, the sexual tension between Komatsu and the Kings is crazy. Like am I crazy for thinking that? Also, I totally ship Komatsu and the kings together cause I love it hehe. But like, thereās so much tension between the five of them itās like, why not just have a harem? Another thing that I do like about this anime/manga that itās not overly sexualized or fan service. You know?
The only thing that made me raise my eyebrows was the Bee woman from the honey prison. Dr. Love or like Love something. But it makes sense cause she uses pheromones to control the inmates and the monsters. Also her pheromones not working on Zebra is hilarious.
Another thing that irritates the hell out of me is Rin. Like why is she even there? She serves no purpose other than obsessing over Toriko when Toriko literally has no interest in her whatsoever. Like she loves him but he doesnāt. Thereās no chemistry between them at all. Komatsu and Toriko have more chemistry than Rin and Toriko. Like sheās so annoying and then they get married! I think itās just so forced. Also, I know she had a part to play when fighting the four beasts with her smoke/fog. But OUTSIDE of that what purpose does she have?
this is a long post. š¤ I donāt think I have anything else to talk about. Oh, going back to talking about the kings. Zebra needs more screen time cause he doesnāt appear in the anime often and I think he rarely appears in the manga. And heās the third popular character from what Iāve seen. Coco is hilarious btw, heās so sassy in the manga but not as much in the anime.
Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk. Iām glad I found this community because I really love Toriko and it needs more love. I wish it didnāt get cancelled but you know, reasons š

WHAT A BANGER ARCšāāļøā¤ļøš„
So the right-hand man of the boss just shows up out of nowhere and absolutely decimated 2 Capture level 70-80 (the highest I've seen so far ) without even using a named attack ??š And bro wanted to kill them after they fought for their lives and nearly died? Nah bro is doing too much āļøš
I genuinely thought that they were cooked until Granny showed up, and now im worried about her instead. She showed up with no thermal suit, just a track suit, some flip-flops, and a dream in minus 50 degrees Celsius weather, ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUSš. I know she's probably strong AF, but she's way too old for her to be doing that,š think about her joints, man, granny, go home, please š .
Also, I never thought that the boss would have a right-hand man who's obviously way stronger than the vice chefs, which leads me to my next question: Is there also a left-hand man? And who exactly is this boss? If the right hand is powerful enough to destroy, capture level 80 beast with ease, and then the boss must be an absolute monster on par with jiro and setsu (maybe even more powerful. Toriko has a lot on his plate manš he's over here beefing with walking calamities, and im worried.
Speaking of toriko, the fight between him and Tommy was INSANE šā¤ļøš„. It was bloody, and everything was on the line. It was the best fight so far in the series. ā¤ļøš
I'm not sure if Tommy is dead or not, but they need to have a rematch and have a fair one on one again. And now that I think about it, from starjun, grinpatch to Tommy, toriko is beefing with everyone, šimagine if they all jump him. My boy would get obliterated.šš
Teppei came in clutch. Without him, a lot of people would've died, and the gang wouldn't have had the century soup. It must've really broken his heart to do what he did to the gourmet showcase ,considering he's a gourmet reviver and all. Being absolutely powerless to do your job must be frustrating to him. And who is this guys master anyway ?and why does he have bloodied clothes?? (dont answer that).
I'm also curious as to why the soup chose komatsu apart from the obvious (him being a pro chef and have a keen sense of taste and recreating it). There has to be some underlying reason, though I'm curious to find out fr.
Im curious to know what granny is going to do, too
All in all, this was a great arc 8-9/ 10 (idk I still haven't finished the conclusion)

This is going to be a long one.
So the mysterious guy's name is teppei, and he's a gourmet reviver, which is a new edition in the story. This is just a theory, but I think this is master jiro's disciple or son, which is insane because komatsu is the only character to have met both the master and student (so far). I laughed so hard when he accidentally revealed that there was no soup.ššIt showed me that even though he's smart, he's also very dumb too and I love smart-dumb characters.
On the other hand, Match and takimaru's battles were both amazing. I mean, these were side characters that I grew attached to in a short span of time, so the stakes were very high for them to get killed, and God damn they came close. We lost honorable brothers Rui, Shin, and Rum. I honestly didn't expect them to go out the way they did, but at the same time, I couldn't think of anything better . They died fighting, fighting match, and for the children in nerg. They died as heroesš«”ā¤ļø F's in the chat to our fallen soldiers.
Btw, I can't wait to see the conclusion of toriko and Tommy's fight.
Oh, and Silly question, but would you rather be a gourmet reviver or a gourmet hunter??

I started reading toriko a few weeks ago. Im currently on volume 9. The point where i became mildly intrigued with the stor was when coco got introduced into the story. Coco is currently my favorite, btw. I think that this is the moment where I officially become invested in the story.

He definitely wouldn't kill her, but he probably still attacked with everything he had.
If he didn't, Toriko and the rest would probably be dead by now

Just looks at their face, lol
The troll kong at the start of toriko can lift 40 ton tanks over. Toriko at the start of the bambina arc could not even handle 10x his body weight.
Tatsumaki from OPM can manipulate gravity 300x over. Goku right after the raditz battle was struggling with 20x gravity until 100x gravity was nothing to him.
So do this mean tatsumaki is overall stronger and can defeat Toriko post heracles arc and goku saiyan arc?
Toriko at this point in the series and goku should win but the issue is that authors are inconsistent when it comes to portraying overall plain muscle power with actual power output.

Feels like dream come true.
Btw this is Toriko in Thai language so it might be a bit different from English or Japanese version.
