Sui Ishida is to me one of the only manga authors that can pull off a single panel of telling a character's past and making you care and feel bad for them without some 5-10 chapter backstory. The implications, facial expressions and details are just gut wrenching and leave you thinking for so long. First read :re in 2024 and I still find myself thinking of these panels. I wish Shirazu stuck around a little longer and they expanded on his guilt and PTSD more. His conclusion that he got was still good though.

So I read Tokyo Ghoul many years ago and it was my favorite manga at the time. I took a bit of a break and jumped into RE. Only got through about 7 volumes or so? I remember reading up to some sort of raid where kaneki fights arima and there’s this other ghoul who’s super weird and very evil also sliming ppl out there. But I got busy and stopped and haven’t picked it back up since. Would it be worth it to re read Tokyo ghoul part 1 or just go with a recap and pick back up Re from the beginning. I honestly only remember major plot points from both and not so much smaller character details

This cosplay took around two and a half weeks of work before the horror and anime con I took it to. Me and my sister worked pretty hard on this costume (mainly the kagune) and we’re pretty proud of it. The kagune was made with pool noodles, metal wire, a LOT of cardboard, a LOT of duct tape, foam and spray paint. We attached it to a harness with PVC pipes and some screws after the glue failed. This costume won me 2nd place in the costume contest at the con. (my sister won 3rd).

I even managed to get a picture with kaneki’s English voice actor! Unfortunately it’s pretty hard to see in and the kagune is very bulky. The harness and wig are very itchy too. But despite all of this I loved the way it turned out!

im a new fan, i watched the first season of the anime and and then switched to the manga from the beginning because i heard the other seasons are bad, i am dumbfounded by the amount of content thats cut in the anime.

Like how can you cut the whole escape part?

also how can you cut any to all mentions of Kanekis hair changing color?

My favorite part was Akira's redemption and forgiveness of Touka and Hinami. "Who was I supposed to hate again?" I think she should hate herself for not seeing it sooner. Touka only killed Mado to save Hinami and avenge Asaki. And Kureo Mado only killed ghouls because the grief of his wife dying drove him insane, and felt he could avenge her by hurting Ghouls, even the innocent ones like Asaki. Akira realizes they were both broken by the reality of who they were and that it's not their fault what happened to them. Really made me tear up. One of the only pieces of media I regret pirating.

Im getting a tattoo in about 2-3 months and I’ve decided to get Juuzou’s stitches! However, do the design of his stitches change in :re? I’ve seen some cases where they did and others where they don’t. :re Juuzou is probably my favorite so I want to get his stitch design most likely but I want to know what they both look like, thanks!!

I wasn’t able to find a good looking squad zero coat so I had my grandma help me make this!! I also got my hair grown out and cut to the perfect length for this cosplay because it’s my favorite version of kaneki. Also I’m very bad at posing

I believe I’ve put myself in a bad situation. I watched season one of Tokyo Ghoul, enjoyed it, and as so, went and watched root a, also enjoyed it. I did not realise however that many people are saying to read the manga and skip root a. I’m in a bad situation that i don’t understand, should I completely restart and read the manga from the start, should I just watch re:, should I skip certain parts of the manga, and also how would I do so? My local library takes 1 month to deliver each volume, and I would ideally want a free online source of the manga, for me in the UK. I don’t really post on Reddit so sorry if this comes along as poorly written or anything. I’d find it really helpful if somebody could clarify for me.
