Observing Report The Best Shots I Got For Saturn So Far 🪐

This video is the sharpest and the best video I have gotten for Saturn until now. It took me over an hour to come up with this without using adapter or camera, and it was really really hard. Anyway what everyone thinks about it do you think it is good ?. Also keep in mind that I was using Celestrone 114 LT AZ which is not very good at capturing sharp photos of planets.

I had a little firstscope that got me hooked. I also got better eyepieces: Lacerta UWA 82° 10mm and Lacerta Premium Flatfield 25mm. Got a 90° mirror diagonal because it comes with a prism along with star pointer (swapped out streight 6x30). AZ3R mount is pretty smooth and stable for smaller scopes. Managed to get a great view of the moon and Saturn last night.

General Question Why does Saturn appear doubled in my 150/750 Sky-Watcher?

Hi, I have a Sky-Watcher 150/750. Saturn looks like two overlapping images, especially at high magnification with 6mm eyepiece. I tried different eyepieces, collimation looks okay, could my primary mirror have astigmatism?

Other Saturn in Nashville

Recently stumbled upon this thread and was inspired to pick up a telescope! I nabbed a Bushnell 114x900 with some Meade eyepieces from facebook for $40. Taken with a 9mm eyepiece and an IPhone 17 pro.

It is indescribable to see the distance between Saturn and its rings with my own eyes. The picture definitely does not do the view justice. I can’t wait to get a dob one day, but this scope is just fine for now!

General Question Is it possible to make a diy starsense?

I’m going to get a skywatcher classic 8“ for my birthday im so excited, but i really love how starsense lets you find objects with your phone, no 8 batteries (those mounts need a lot of power) and i cant find a starsense here in turkey, I think it’d be easy to do this, but has anyone done this, how? does it work? what do you need?

Purchasing Question Binoculars??

So, my mother has really gotten into watching the Rocket Lauches (we're very close to Wallops Island where SpaceX has a Facility) and the Satellite and ISS flyovers. She does like watching metor showers and Planets more than actual Stargazing. I was thinking getting her a Telescope for Christmas. But, most of the things she watches are in motion. So I was thinking maybe more along the lines of binoculars. She is older and has a really bad shoulder. I know they have really big binoculars, but I looked at some Minoltas that were quite compact that also recorded and took pictures. Even had a flip up screen for playback. Anybody have any experience with binoculars for this purpose or can suggest something along these lines?? Thanks in advance.

General Question Need help finding a replacement tripod for my Sky-Watcher 5-inch telescope

Hi everyone!

I have a 5-inch Sky-Watcher Newtonian telescope on an EQ2 equatorial mount, but unfortunately, I've broken the tripod.

I'm looking for an alternative tripod that's compatible with my existing EQ2 mount, or a place where I can buy a replacement in India.

I'm also open to other solutions, such as a DIY wooden mount or converting the telescope into a Dobsonian.

If anyone has experience with this or knows where I can find a compatible tripod, especially in India, I'd really appreciate your suggestions!

Thanks in advance! 🔭
