Memes Thinking of making these weekly

I fear Sriracha (brachypelma boehmei) would always be the naughty one, though. She got her name for a good reason. Spicy as all hell🌶🌶🌶

I would also love for people to make their own "spider of the week" to post under this one. TOTALLY not just because I want to see everyone's pet tarantulas or anything...

For fear of being stolen, sadly the decoration won’t be staying this way. I have decided the spider will be doing a threat display referencing from the ever glorious Chalupa

My incredible, sweet, lovely partner took us to La Junta for Tarantula Fest last month because even though he doesn't care for em I LOVE spiders.

He had to head to TX, and while there he left a door open and LITTLE MAN JUST WALKED RIGHT IN!

I was so confused at first, I thought my grammastola pulchra was sick or injured. Then suddenly poof, it starts to molt and 30 min later it’s a fresh new baby! Also it did not flip over, but molted while standing right side up. Is that normal? It’s still very young, not sure the exact age or sex. Does everything look okay?

Conversation For those of us still on the learning curve, a request

Really enjoy seeing everyone's Ts and their enclosures, etc.

Could I ask a small favor and PLEASE add your Ts Genus. species along with your pet's name?

I'm an "always be learning type!" and some are easy to know, but many I'm still ? what is that one ???

Thanks!

Conversation Just got a hamorii! 🖤

Hey guys! This is my intro to the community! I just got a brachypelma hamorii today. She is 2 years old and sexed as female. I got her for $225 which I know is a little on the high side, but, due to her age and recent molt plus sex, I felt it was something I could justify.

I know the general basics:

-feed her every 7 - 14 days

- i bought 1/4 in crickets and small meal worms

- my house is 65 - 70 degrees usually which I think is okay?

-substrate should be 1/2 to 2/3rds the enclosure height.

- etc

But I do want some tips if yall would be so kind and ways I can make the case she came in more hospital and comfortable for her. I also don't think the water dish they have for her is great.

Also, I do have some starter questions. How soon should I feed her? Ive heard mixed things on mesh top enclosures?

Thanks you guys! xx

Despite looking a bit concerning, it’s actually normal for her to do this after a molt. Keep on watching for the subtle single fang draw…

Help! Is this enclosure too small?

My brachypelma hamorii that I got like 2 years ago. They are still pretty small so I've just kept her original enclosure since I haven't felt like she really needed an upgrade. I packed in a lot of organic soil in there so she/he wouldn't climb the walls of the enclosure but it makes it feel like there's no space. Do I need to upgrade? Or maybe take less substrate out?

This is Atropa, named after deadly nightshade. Ages ago I said I’d succumb to a pokie and it’s finally happened. I worked with one years ago at my zoo and she was perfection. Atropa has already moulted, so this is them extra fresh.

Conversation different coloured sling

Hello everyone, I was wondering, if there's a reason that one of my tiny balfouri slings is black, while the other 3 are brown. They're siblings so I don't think genetics is the reason. My two electric blue slings also look different, one is way darker than the other one, but they're siblings too. Is it just random or is there actually a reason for that?

Question What would you pay for this size Gooty Sapphire (Poecilotheria Metallica) if it was a female? If it was a male?

Sorry, terrible pic aaaand I’m terrible at sizing but I’d say maybe 2-3 inches? This is at my local pet store and I want it so bad but they’re asking $200.

As the title says lol…what would you pay if she’s a female, and what would you pay if he’s a male?
