Pictures Is this appropriate for my juvenile Phlogius Airlie

I’ve owned tarantulas for a couple of years now and recently started getting into terrariums for my isopods, I originally bought this enclosure to upgrade my Phlogius Airlie from its current enclosure but perhaps got carried away with the terrarium aspectšŸ˜… it’s got 2.5 inches of substrate and a bandicoot skull hide, I know this will probably get super webbed up but I don’t mind, it’s not much of a digger and I was thinking of adding a bit more live moss on the wood. Any tips or recommendations are welcome!

Edit: I removed the isopods after the photo just in case I do put my T in here

Help! Amputation?

Thumbnail

Hey all!
So I just read that when a tarantulas legs get deformed like this it's best to amputate since it calls for a much more difficult next molt.

This is my girl, Blue and her last molt went poorly, i had to help her get these 2 legs out.
The 2nd picture is directly after the molt, the 1st one is now and she's perfectly fine; moving around fine, eating great, etc.
My question is, it's been 3 months since her molt happened like this, so is this an amputation scenario? I never have done it before & didn't know that's something that i can do without majorly hurting her.
Just looking for advice! TIA!

Hello,

I recently bought a female OBT from a vendor. I thought it was pretty thin but I trusted them.

The last few days since I got it, it has just been walking around on the glass which made me look closer.

Am i crazy or are these tibial hooks?

Despite looking a bit concerning, it’s actually normal for her to do this after a molt. Keep on watching for the subtle single fang draw…

Memes Thinking of making these weekly

I fear Sriracha (brachypelma boehmei) would always be the naughty one, though. She got her name for a good reason. Spicy as all hell🌶🌶🌶

I would also love for people to make their own "spider of the week" to post under this one. TOTALLY not just because I want to see everyone's pet tarantulas or anything...

I am new to owning tarantulas, and I have seen that you might be able to ID the sex by looking under the abdomen. Any help would be appreciated:)

Question What would you pay for this size Gooty Sapphire (Poecilotheria Metallica) if it was a female? If it was a male?

Sorry, terrible pic aaaand I’m terrible at sizing but I’d say maybe 2-3 inches? This is at my local pet store and I want it so bad but they’re asking $200.

As the title says lol…what would you pay if she’s a female, and what would you pay if he’s a male?

Conversation Expo snags

I went to the midlands expo with the hopes of grabbing a colony of Monocentropus Balfouri , and grab them I did. I got 5, and was given a ā€˜trick or treat’ blind pull and got my first bird eater, a Pamphobeteus machala sling. He had a couple of badly moulted legs but he moulted basically the next day, and he’s right as rain. This is his first post moult feed photographs.

So my first OW and BE. And my child saying ā€˜but 9 isn’t a good number, let’s get 10’

Current T count 9.
G.pulchripes
C.cyaneopubescens
N.incei
5 M.balfouri
P.machala

Oh, and I met Dave, from Dave’s little Beasties YT channel, and grabbed a photo with him. Nice dude. Who else went?

All my giants molted this summer except my platyomma who waited for fall.

My apophysis and blondi decided to hide their molts in their burrows like little jerks.

They're all pushing over 5 inches, more towards 6 at this point. 3rd pic is my Blondi compared to my hand which is apx 6 inches from heel to tip of my middle finger. And yes she is skinny post molt. Working on giving her some big dubias to fatten up.

Excited to see these ladies grow and grow. At some point I think I will need to move them to sterilite tubs. I already have .25 lb weights on their lids to keep them from escaping.

Help! OBT molt

hello everyone! i have a juvenile OBT and i am seeking some advice. i don’t typically see this baby much as they really only come out at night right before im going to bed. i haven’t seen it in about a week?? (maybe less maybe more my concept of time is nonexistent). I tried to feed it a cricket yesterday and found it still there this morning in the webbing alive. i was planning to rehouse it tomorrow but im concerned now being that it did not eat and i haven’t seen it.

with that being said, i am panicking that something is wrong since i usually at least see it daily at night before bed. is it standard for them to molt down in their tunnel systems or should i be concerned? also please dont come for me, this is my first old world and my first juvenile tarantula so i just want some peace of mind. also i am assuming i should put a halt on rehousing?

Help! anyone know what this could be?

so my t. albo sabrina molted a month ago and she rarely comes out but she’s been making more appearances since this last molt. yesterday she was up against the glass and i noticed that bright red pink on the bottom of her legs. i’m wondering if this has to do with dehydration during the molt or something? or if it’s something else like a parasite causing this. i’ve never seen something like this with any of my other three t. albos that i’ve had for longer. also i’m not 100% sure of her sex yet im just saying she since i named her sabrina lol

Conversation been wondering...

Couldn't tell if i should use help or conversation so idk. Anyway, I have been debating getting a tarantula for a few months now. hardest part has to be which species I should get. i love how arizona blondes look, but them being skidish and going on hunger stikes worrys me (ik personalitys very). i keep reading that mexican redknees are chill, but the orange/red isnt for me. i get that they are an animal, plus i wont see them very often but appearance does seem important to me. it be nice to get some advice or recommendations.

Help! Cage size

I posted earlier this week, but I'm back. I have this little dude, a brazillian black, and I've been trying to get him a new enclosure, as the one he's been in doesn't have cross ventilation. The smallest one I could find is an 8"Ɨ4"Ɨ4". I'm worried that 8 inches might be too long for such a little dude. Should I wait till upgrading him? Or will it still work if I monitor his food and put an extra water dish inside?
