I downloaded the Battle.net installer and Starcraft, and had enough room for it, but for some reason after I uninstalled it for technical reasons, I suddenly have less space on my drive and can't download it again. Anyone know what's going on?
It's so fucking annoying playing top feels like an impossible match-up, yesterday I literally had a match in which I killed more than 20 probes in a sub 10 min game and he just A moved with collussus, few archons, zealots and immortals, to be fair I was a bit on my vikings production but still I thought the damage that I did was crippling, I had another match in which I played a late game vs someone who had collussus disruptors and tempests , the rotation he did was crazy honestly I kept emping his army over and over couldn't jump on it because of the collussus I also killed a lot of tempests , killed like 3 bases at around maybe 15 min but none matters to be fair his rotations where really good and I couldn't keep up with him I didn't know what to do, probably should've had a lot of vikings or maybe could've stayed defensive with my air fleet and counter attack with some marauders, marines, ghosts and medivacs, but still, compared to tvz and tvt this match feels impossible, I keep getting banged by sub 100 apm players which is kinda frustrating, btw I might have played against a hacker, in a four pkayers map he straight went to my base and started a cannon rush before even reaching 50% of my barracks which seemed suspicious to me, is it actually possible to finish a forge way before a barracks? Need help guys sorry for the long post
EDIT : Sorry I forgot to mention I'm on starcraft 2 not broodwar though I'm genuinly thinking about switching to broodwar
Title, as all other Blizzard non RTS games (WoW, Diablo, Overwatch... heck, even Hearthstone) have playable classes, do you think Starcraft (2030) will too? Especially considering it's an open world game?
Potential classes:
Marine -> Standard shooter class, specialized in shooting, can be upgraded into a Marauder and use various shooting weapons.
Ghost -> "Mage" class, focused on stealth and "spellcasting", can follow the Ghost patch or go rogue and become a Spectre.
Firebat -> Tank class, still a shooter, but a lot less range and a lot more HP, specialized at soaking damage and AoE damage.
Medic -> Healer class, while they can deal damage too, they're best at healing allies.
Reaper -> "Rogue" class, highly mobile with less hp but can deal significant burst damage.
From my mother’s sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.
I'm trying to load some of the custom campaigns for SCR (Precursors, retribution, Enslavers, etc) but for some reason they keep skipping the briefings and load up some random map.
I've never messed with custom campaigns before. Does anyone know what could be going wrong?
Anyone know if there is a place to get the non mod version of Insurrection Remastered Vorgozz originally made? I wanna play it on SCR but I hear the mod version doesn't work in it.
How is that still to this day..... the profile computer is allowed to exist? Like blizzard seriously does this profile elude your bot scans? Get it together and either ban the bots or let me block them ffs. He mucks up alot of 2v2 games.
I started playing competive Matches a few month ago.
In that time i gained lots of expierence and got a good chunk better.
-I Split my workers, so they dont all run to one Mineral Spot
I wall Off the entrance
Ii try to build as fast as possible
I try to Scout
Also i try to use Control Groups
I try to harass the enemy with early Units to gain an Advantage
I expand to gainore ressouces(offen Times Putting CCs in a spot where i Think the enemy will Not Look)
I use the Upgrades
I try to harrass again
I try to build as many Units
I Always Look for and Angle how i can do damage
And so in. Im Sure i forgot to write a few things.
My APM is between 40 and 50.
Im a Bronze Player and thats the Thing
I thought the lowest ranks are for people who have absolutely No clue how to Play against other Playersm
Yet, in bronze im loosing Most Matches because i get outplayed, get overwhelmed or the enemy build an insanly strong Economy in a time that should make it Impossible.
I cannot even reach silver without getting besten Back Into Bronze.
the new starcraft is coming out as a third person shooting game... what do we think? we're trying to conduct a survey regarding games and the upcoming starcraft. we'd truly appreciate if yall can fill out this survey for us (all multiple choice n should take less than 10 minutes). thank youuuu
It was a lot of fun! Here is the general summary and upgrades/research I got, with the details in a google sheet below.
Besides the missions themselves, I had to deal with an annoying technical challenge: Not all achievements are tracked in the end of mission screen, meaning if you scored the achievement but need to load from a save before it, or if you scored it in a previous play, you need to manually track if you completed the achievement.
Since I wasn’t going to start a new campaign every time this happened, I have to believe my tracking was accurate (I even tried to create a new campaign in a different region and use cheats to get to the same point, but cheats disable your ability to score achievements in that campagin).
This happened most notably in Media Blitz (where the Odin kill count doesn’t include civilians, so you literally have no way to track the kills in the sneak attack). It also happens with several others kill count achievements, though none of them were as difficult to track as that one. Ghost of a Chance is another example, where the end screen doesn’t tell you if you killed all units (though it’s not that hard to check manually).
Armory Upgrades: I got these by order of importance: Marine, Medic, all base upgrades (scv and command center are top priority, bunker is also very useful and missile turret is amazing for any mission vs air).
Siege tanks and vikings (as soon as I got them).
Banshees (for the All-In version with nydus worms).
Marauders, Goliaths, Battlecruisers, Firebats- Nice to have for the mercenaries, I forgot to use the battlecruiser abilities in all missions where I had them.
Research: Zerg: Bunker hp, planetary fortress (didn’t use as much as I could have, both in All-In and The Dig) Hercules (never used), regenerative bio steel, hive mind emulator (never used)
Protoss: Attack speed, efficient gas, scv reactor, science vessel (never used) tech reactor.
I got the protoss research fairly late, since I opted to wait for The Dig as its achievement combo (destroying structures and not using the laser drill) was very hard, and this meant the Zeratul missions were also locked (and after I got there, I decided to do the Zeratul missions last just for the challenge). I also picked Safe Haven instead of Haven’s Fall as the “moral” choice, which made my life much harder as Safe Haven was one of the tougher missions of the campaign while Haven’s Fall was one of the easiest.
Mercenaries: hired every group as soon as I got it.
Missions by order of play:
Green: super easy, barely any loading needed.
Yellow: still quite easy, but there is something that made it not completely trivial (reload a few times etc).
Orange: challenging, but still mostly manageable with normal play.
Red: Very difficult, required many attempts and sometimes figuring out a unique strategy.
I also rated every achievement individually using this same scale, with green being ones you will get without trying.
Small note: maxed in this context means having done all possible missions before the current, so maximum armory upgrades/research.
Overall top 5 most difficult missions: Zero Hour (the only one I couldn’t manage all achievements without resorting to the hatchery trick), Engine of Destruction (probably due to how early I did it), Media Blitz, Safe Haven, All in.
Easiest: Haven’s Fall, Liberation Day, Cutthroat (though it is very fun), Gates of Hell, The Devil’s Playground, Shatter the Sky/Belly of the Beast.
Gonna do a set with all the logos since we finally have a new game coming out. I’m best at Zerg logo so did that first, think it turned out pretty good and might mess with it more but 1/3 done. Never could get it perfect it’s harder than it looks
So i just got done beating this Skytoss player that stayed in the game for a oddly long time, it was a 35m long game in total, he did say gl at the start tho.. but after the game i checked his profile and I'VE NEVER EVER SEEN 1000 games LET ALONE 3000 GAMES in a single season?
Hey everyone! I’ve been working on getting map-making tools working for StarCraft: Ghost, and after a while, I’m excited to share a major breakthrough for the upcoming OpenNOD Engine SDK Mod Tools built around the SC: Ghost leak.
A quick shoutout to u/Ragecommie, who has been doing incredible work pushing overall game compatibility forward on the xboxrecomp side!
This is just a sneak peek for now since I still have a lot to do. I don't want to lock myself into a strict deadline, but I also don't want to give the classic "It's done when it's done!" response. Based on my current progress, I’m aiming to release the full SDK next month, Both as compiled binaries and open source.
My goal has been to preserve that classic 2000s-era modding workflow, similar to games like Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption.
At best, this toolset will unlock the potential to restore missing maps or build entirely new ones from scratch! However, keep in mind that it currently lacks native conversion tools for models, animations, and special effects (like particle FX). It isn't a full, end-to-end suite yet and likely won't be by the time of release. Right now, my focus is entirely on bringing the map and dataset tooling together while documenting everything along the way.
So that's my end of the transmission: Nova signing off. Cheers!
Traditional sports strain the body in an obvious way – physically. How does hours-long competition in esports affect a professional player's body? How do heart rate, vision parameters, and breathing change during key moments of a match? On October 24 and 25 in Warsaw, ScienceCraft will take place – the first StarCraft II tournament in Poland to combine competition between top players with real-time scientific research as an integral part of the broadcast.
Organized by Fusion Esports League in cooperation with AWF Warsaw, ScienceCraft combines esports, science, and new technologies.
The initiator of the tournament is Andrzej “Kaszanas” Białecki, a researcher with over a decade of experience in esports across various roles. His goal is to develop player support technology, including the use of AI tools. His efforts continuously aim at popularizing scientific research on gamers and esports athletes. Every match will be subjected to measurements using proprietary technologies that allow for the synchronization of signals from multiple sources alongside their recording for analysis.
The two-day event at Warsaw's H40S at Marszałkowska 64 Street will host eight top Polish StarCraft II players. They will compete for a prize pool of PLN 5,000. Participation has already been confirmed by Gerald, Krystianer, MaNa, Rodzyn, Elazer, Jemiol, Nihed, Fjant
What happens to an esports athlete during a match?
ScienceCraft is a unique show combining tournament, research, and media aspects. Esports will be presented from an unprecedented perspective. What will be measured? What body reactions will accompany players during the matches?
During the event, researchers will analyze parameters such as heart rate, ECG, and inertial movement parameters (Figure 1), eye movements via eye tracking (Figure 3), exhaled air composition (Figure 2),. The study will include measurements taken outside of gameplay, including resting and exercise tests.

One element of the project will be observing how a player's body reacts to prolonged competition and mounting fatigue. Throughout the tournament, individual players will undergo continuous measurements, allowing for a comparison of match progression with body reactions.
The tournament will not only provide research data, but also demonstrate whether measurement methods used in traditional sports can be easily adapted to esports.

Data-driven Esports
One of the main goals of ScienceCraft is the popularization of research, and ultimately, an approach to training and competition utilizing data regarding body loads, concentration, and player reactions.
Professional sport has been using and developing similar methods for years. The ScienceCraft concept aims to encourage discussion on how to apply them to esports athlete preparation as well. Can we increase training efficiency? What loads is a player subjected to during hours of competition?
This is precisely the area to which Andrzej Białecki dedicates his research work. ScienceCraft aims to be not only an esports event, but also a tool for science popularization, demonstrating that data gathered from game engines, as well as physiological and behavioral data, can play a significant role in professional athlete training in the future.
Entities involved in the project include the Józef Piłsudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw (AWF Warsaw) and HealthyGG, which together with the organizers wish to introduce the broader public to a scientific perspective on esports, player health, and modern performance analysis methods.

Research results as part of the broadcast
ScienceCraft will also be an experiment in live esports show production. A selection of signals measured during gameplay will be presented to viewers during the broadcast, enabling them to observe not only the in-game situation but also the players' bodily reactions at key match moments.
The technology utilized during the tournament will simultaneously display selected data on the stream and record it for subsequent scientific analysis.
In this way, ScienceCraft brings together three domains: professional esports competition, scientific research, and technology that enhances the broadcast with an additional layer of data.
According to the organizers, this is the first initiative of its kind in Poland and one of the few worldwide where a professional esports tournament simultaneously serves as a research environment and a platform for popularizing science.
Did blizzard actually make good with their claim of more changes coming after the patch reversion, or are we still in the era where vipers can't abduct siege tanks?
Edit: Ill take the silence as a no, guess im not coming back to sc2 just yet
