I have no experience with keeping shrimp or any fish for that matter but I am looking for a new hobby and shrimp keeping has intrigued me. Is there a step by step how to because I have no clue on where to begin. I've looked at the side bar but still I have no idea.

It seems a lot of people, possibly the majority, want to see an absolute ban of Ai on this sub, whether in post or comment. So, we wanted to let the community decide. Thanks for your input! - Shrimptank Mod Team

Two weeks ago I ordered some extra süßwassertang* for my kuhli and neocaridina tank for ground coverage and the seller kindly popped in a few bonus plants. Within one of the packets was a crystal bee caridina tucked into the plant that somehow had survived being packaged up without water and two days in the post during cold weather. No acclimatisation as she was in no water (and I panicked), I decided to plop and drop her into a dish of tank water to see if she was alive, and then into the neo tank and hope she survived. I don't keep caridina so nothing set up with caridina parameters.
Found her today, she's surviving so far despite the parameters being not soft enough for her. I suspect she is ruling over the neos.
Pic 1 after I found her as I opened the plants, pic 2 plop and drop into the tank and pic 3 the glorious sighting I've just had. Been looking out for her since the scary day she unexpectedly arrived!!

Tank is ~1 month old. Water tests are clear and match parameters. Been doing partial water changes about once a week. I had just done my partial change two days ago and tested my water today - all clear. Poor orange fella has been on his back or side most of today slightly wiggling. His tank mates keep coming over occasionally and bothering him. I can’t tell if he’s struggling to molt or if he’s dying. This is my first tank, so I’m new to this. My local store doesn’t have calcium supplements, so going to the bigger store tomorrow to get some. In the meantime, what am I dealing with?

After coming home from work, I always love it wheb I see my shrimps on my subwassertang. It's so cool seeing them graze and admire what they do. What do shrimps do that fascinate you guy? That you guys can't stop admiring them

One morning this week, I woke up to find my first pregnant shrimp had dropped her babies. The next day, the second one had done the same.
There are so many babies zooming around the tank, swimming like they're drunk, and I just can't handle the pure adorableness of it all.
I love my skrimps.

The big mamas in this colony always try and air lift food out of a good viewing area.
Since I have kept this colony and grown it they have actively done everything possible to move food under and behind the wood in their tank.
Its hilarious but it makes my already terrible photography even worse.

Look at those little glass orbs of darkness, they long for the feel the refreshment of crisp wind. They dream of it; they see us do it and they conspire openly against us.
Drop your best pictures of shrimply orbs below, the more we know the better armed we are against them.

I’m fairly new to this hobby. I think these things hitchhiked on some plants I got a couple months ago. I’ve been seeing them wiggling around on the stems of my plants and from under rocks. Should I be worried or leave them be?

I need a couple of large racks/shelves that can hold 20g longs, 10g, 5g, and 2.5g.
I’m tired of using random stuff in my house and need a better set up.

My entire tank has vorticella now and the shrimp population is so high that I don't even know how I'd go about collecting them all for a salt dip without ripping out all my hair in the process. Or without tearing the tank apart... I need some way to treat the whole tank, if possible!!!
EDIT: alright I'm on my way to the fish store to get salt!

I think she’s berried buttt I’d kinda like a second opinion! She has always been pretty huge (not in a rude way) compared to my other girls so I might be getting my hopes up..

I just added two female fire reds to my tank, last night it was bright red, and now tonight it is blue. How is that even possible!??
Don’t mind the algae, I’ve been away from home and am trimming it back and rescaping the tank tomorrow.

Shrimps keep dying almost everyday. Orange rilli is turning whitish and one dead pinnochio shrimp (which turned whitish orange). One more photo in comments.
Tank is like 3 months old.
