Help Planning my first 72L (19 gal) Amazon-style tank. Thoughts on my stocking and hardscape?
Hello everyone! I am planning my first proper aquarium and want to make sure I'm doing everything right this time. I would love to hear your thoughts, advice, or any potential red flags regarding my plan.
Tank Specifications:
Size: 60 x 30x 40cm (approx. 72 liters / 19 us gallons), rimless open top.
Filter: Aquael Turbo Filter 500 (500 L/h, with a large sponge and a ceramic media compartment).
Heater: Aquael platinum 50w (set to 24°C/75°F)
Lightning: Jeneca SC-50 led (q6w, 1300 lmao, white and blue diodes)
Substrate: fine, smooth natural white quartz sand (0.4-1.2 mm), for bottom dwellers.
Hardscape: spider wood (azalea roots) and some smooth river stones at the base.
Planned stocking:
10 x neon Tetra (paracheirodon innesi)
8 x pygmy Cory (corporate pygmaeus)
4 x horned nitrite snail (clithon corona)
Planned flora (plants):
Frogbit or water lettuce as floating plants
A small amount of Java moss attracted to the spider wood branch
My concerns and routine:
I'm using a water container (Tetra AquaSafe) and a bacterial starter (nitrileo) for a fish less cycle (withing 3 weeks before adding livestock). I plan to feed them 3-4 times a week (every other day) to prevent overfeeding and do a 20% water change every 1.5-2 weeks.
Is this stocking density appropriate for a 19-gallon tank with this filtration?
Will 4 horned nerite snails have enough algae to eat in 72l tank if introduced a month after the fish?
Any tips for keeping the white sand clean with this specific stocking?

Help what r yall feeding ur fishes?
heyhey newbie here. i just completed my tank cycle and im preparing to finally add my stock in! im planning on neocaridina shrimps, chilli rasboras and pygmy corys. what i read is these three stock kinda need different food i.e. sinking tablets for corys, shrimp pellets for shrimp n fish food for chillis.
im wondering if I can actually just have two different types of food? like maybe the chillis and corys can actually be fed the same thing? i also plan on feeding baby brine shrimp bout once a week maybe if that helps. any advice is really appreciated! :-)

Help What are some good lighting options for a 10-gallon tank?
I'm working on a 40L (~10g) heavily planted tank and am having trouble finding a suitable light, a lot of the lights recommend online aren't available in Australia, hoping to stock the tank with chilli rasboras and cherry shrimp.

Picture Emerald Dwarf Rasbora
I couldn’t find a dedicated sub for these awesome little guys so I thought this place was my best bet.
I’ve been keeping Emerald Dwarf Rasbora (Danio erythromicron) for a while now and thought they deserved an illustration of their own!

Help Need help designing my first Aquascape/Shrimp nano Tank
galleryHey beloved Aquascape-Community,
I'm brand new to the thing and am looking for some advice designing my Tank.
I already have an Idea and some materials, but since i dont want to change the design immidiatly i thought i get my self some advice from you guys!
My Tank ist 28x37x32 cm (HxLxW), ca. 33 L.
Planned Inhabitans are Blue Dream Shrimps and Snails.
Plantwise I figured to start easy (Java Moss etc.) and also look whats available around me through other aquarists.
So what i got for myself yet is:
- a small filter for the corner (wich i have no idea how to hide it yet)
- 5 kg of black gravel soil
- some tools
- rather small pieces pf dragonstone and wood (pictures).
For arranging it i already got some advice:
- the gravel should get higher in the back to create more depth (but is it already enogh or should i get more gravel?)
-put the bigger hardscape in the front to create depth
- and then there is the rule of 3 or the golden ratio wich i also understand but find it hard to implement with like very limited hardscape.
So i just arranged it a bit (photo) what do you think?
-should i add a fith piece of wood? (to get an odd number)
- what should i do with the rocks there are still some left. (you see the total amount ind the picture with the scale (cm) also the big wood piece is still leftover
- how should i hide the filter
this are my obviouse concerns, but I'm happy about any big or litte advice leading to more knowlege and more fun aquascaping!
Also things i didnt mention haha :)
Thank you all in advance already!

I set it up around 3 days ago and everything you see here is from another mature tank, just rearranged. I was gonna ask for some suggestions for the bare spot on the back right corner. I'm also pretty happy about the 2.5 foot val I grew. Im open to critiques and suggestions!

Currently I have 1 betta fish, 1 nederite snail and 2 African dwarf frogs.
So many changes over the time but still managed to keep it up going.
