Buying Advice Wanted Best compact USB-C projector for inside a tent? (2026)

What’s the best small, lightweight projector for tent camping that can run directly off a 65W USB-C power bank?

Just looking for something super portable that’s easy to angle onto a tent wall or ceiling without a complicated setup.

Open to any suggestions or models to check out!

Buying Advice Wanted Best projector under $1,000?

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for a new projector with a budget of around $1,000. I mainly watch movies and TV shows, but I also play on my PlayStation, so I’d like good image quality and low input lag.

Here’s my setup:

  • Budget: $1,000 max
  • Screen size: Around 100–110 inches
  • Projection distance: Around 3 metres
  • Seating distance: Around 3 metres
  • Position: On a stable support, facing the wall
  • Usage: Movies, TV shows and PlayStation
  • Room: Bedroom, white walls, mostly used in the dark

I currently project onto a plain white wall. Would buying a projector screen make a noticeable difference?

I previously had a Samsung Freestyle Gen 1 and was happy with its image quality, but I’m open to trying something better.

I’d appreciate any recommendations, including pros and cons!

(Also, thanks to everyone who helped with my previous XGIMI post. I finally got my refund!)

Discussion Mrs wasn’t keen to lose the large mirrors in the living room… hold my beer.

Having just upgraded to a VisionMaster Max (paired with an HDfury Arcana in the chain; ATV > Yamaha RX3080 > Arcana > VM Max, blows the Native DVV out of the water without the Arcana), I’m now on a mission to light treat our room somewhat…

Dark wood slatted panels to surround the screen and the first foot of side walls are on their way.

better half did not want to lose her two huge mirrors further back in the room and manually putting up covers each time would have been a right ball ache, so came up with these.

whole project cheap as chips with a roll of slatted bamboo from a garden centre, and some blind making materials off Amazon.

Had to join two sections on the long mirror, achieved that with iron-on one sided curtain hemming tape. 💪🪚

Buying Advice Wanted 4K Projector under $2000 AUD

Hi everyone, looking to buy a new projector for under $2000 AUD. I intend to use it with a 100” screen at night (not a darkened room however, so the white walls may cause reflections). I will be using it for gaming, and watching movies/series. It must be quiet, as I am replacing my current one due to the loud fan noise. Should have a mid to long throw ratio, as my current projector is 3m away from the screen. If anyone has any recommendations they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Buying Advice Wanted Looking for a budget projector

Yesterday my old projector made a his and a pop and then black smoke came out so I’m looking for a new one. I’m looking for something $500-750 (I know not much), our room is very dark, ceiling mounted and I want minimum 1080. It is mounted 7 feet away from the screen. Our current one was a Benq w1070 with 2000 lumens and 10000:1 contrast ratio and we never had any issues with brightness. I don’t need any sort of quality sound, we have 7.1. We sit about 10’ away and it is 104” screen. We like our movies and Nintendo switch but not heavy graphics. What would you recommend to fit those qualities.

Buying Advice Wanted BenQ TH575i vs NexiGo PJ40 Pro

Hi all, i would like to buy my first projector but am pretty unsure which one to choose.

Budget: 400-600$, Throw distance: 3,5m / 11.5 feet, use case is movies and casual gaming (gta 6, rocket league) in a semi darkened room on raw wall.

I have narrowed it down to three models: BenQ TH575i, NexiGo PJ40 Pro, Photon Life PH31.

The PH31 has a pretty bad input lag afaik and the PJ40 is not that bright. I am leaning towards the BenQ. But I am not sure if there is an even better option.

Please help me to decide.
