Advice Will my life and house ever feel like mine again?
Hi. My husband and I adopted an approximately 2-year-old pit mix 3 months ago and I’ve been having a really hard time. She is all around a wonderful dog and is very sweet and loving. All we know is that she was a stray and she was in a foster home for about 7 weeks before we got her.
We’ve been struggling with walks (she freezes and won’t want to move constantly) but we’re going to start working with a private trainer soon to work on that and general training.
The problem lies with me. I have had HORRIBLE anxiety since we got her and I feel like I can’t do anything I used to love to do. I can’t sit on the couch and watch a show or read whenever I want because she whines or is on me begging for attention. She can’t seem to self-soothe or something, I don’t know.
I do get her out on 2 walks every day, even though they’re a struggle, and I let her stop to sniff and everything. I play with her for a half hour during my lunch hour and then play with her for another half hour or 45 minutes after work. I feed her dinner in a snuffle mat. She is a couch potato in the morning after going out to do her business and eating for about 3-4 hours and then will be a couch potato again after her dinner and evening walk for the rest of the evening. I just feel like my entire day revolves around needing to do something for her.
She’s an aggressive chewer so I can’t leave her unsupervised with toys, and she also will only play with squeaker toys (which aren’t great when I’m trying to work). I am trying to remind myself that not everything is going to be perfect and being patient (I try not to project any of my feelings on her).
Am I doing something wrong? Is this my life all the time now? I know it’s only been 3 months and we’re still both adjusting, I just feel very alone and like a horrible person because I’ve been so anxious, stressed, and burnt out.
Any advice or anything, or just knowing someone else has gone through this and it’s gotten better would be helpful.

Rainbow Bridge She is gone, so proud of her.
She was brave calm and at peace. The vet and tech, both Women( my lucy not a man fan) were kind soft and perfect. I had a spot lying on the floor but my girls spot is the corner of the couch, vet said it perfect, so this was where i let her go. Candles her spot and toys, her playlist. I watched her take the last breath easily and drift away.
Leaving to the desert to mourn with her brother Leo who is ok, but 120lbs in my camper van, we just make it. A sunset cheers to her and some dancing under the stars, to help with the ache.
She was perfect coming to me, perfect by my side and perfect in the leaving me🥲.

Rescue Anyone else’s pit LOVE to watch TV?
My little (big) guy just turned 1 and I find it so adorable how much he enjoys watching TV! I’ve never had a dog who does this and is so engrossed by what he’s watching 😂 his ears move and his eyes scan the screen, it’s really like he’s following along the story and completely tuned in. Anyone else have a pit like this? I just love him so much 🥹😩
