Apartment sprayed and poison still not dried

• Upvotes

Our apartment was sprayed for ants at 3pm yesterday and we were told 1-4 hours and everything would be good, it was about 3 hours before we ended up back home and the smell was awful and there was still liquid everywhere. We opened all the windows and went to where our cat was being kept to check on her and tell them we couldn’t bring her home tonight. It’s now 8:30am the following day, we have left the windows open and slept in the bedroom where they didn’t spray, the smell is gone but there are still pools of poison all over our apartment, it hasn’t dried at all. Also not to mention they completely drenched our kitchen and when i checked the website it said they don’t spray kitchens they put traps out. I have no idea what they sprayed, we were their last spray apparently and when we got home the business was closed and they don’t open until Monday. I guess my question is it safe for us to put gloves and masks on and get warm soapy water and clean up all the pools of poison that won’t dry? Like we don’t wanna get this stuff on us but also we cannot bring the cat back home until something is done.

Identification Help me identify these please !!

I have recently moved into a freshly built rented apartment, I'm seeing these insects a lot, near kitchen concrete slabs, floor, skirtings, window rails, concrete almirah.

I'm in India it's pretty hot and dry, I have been keeping the flat ventilated and removing these and cleaning, but they're not reducing.

If i lift any object in kitchen slabs , I see these 5-6 below it.

Size is very small , lesser than 1 mm. And they jump when I tap near it.

The Balck ones are little bigger and don't jump.

Please help

General Question Steel wool, stainless steel wool or copper mesh

Planning to stuff some steel wool into some gaps in my rental flat. I cannot use sealer as might lose deposit. Am I best to use stainless steel wool or copper mesh instead? Bit confused from what I’ve read online about steel wool breaking down and rusting/staining

Thank you!

Resolved Replaced glue traps under door with xcluder strip

Someone suggested a better alternative to using glue traps under the door would be a door strip from a company like xcluder. I looked into them and they make great products so I installed one. No more fear of of mice sneaking under my door. It was traumatic having to deal with that before.

Small insect on my walls

Post image
1 Upvotes

My house walls have noticeable stains on them (really light, circular stains that can't be seen immediately but noticeable up close). Upon inspection, I notice very small insects (nearly microscopic, appearing as just a black speck on the wall) crawling and picked one and put them under a magnifying glass - per the picture.

I live in a tropical country and have a dog and cat at home. As far as I remember we co-existed with these bugs for a while now (only really wanting to resolve this issue now) so neither us humans nor our pets have been bitten.

What could these guys be? And more importantly, how do I resolve this?

Unanswered Flea(?) Problem, Need Help

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello, I (22M) live with my parents. We have a dog and a cat, both of which my parents let roam around outside which is by a forest. As of today, I noticed a ton of itchy red bumps around my legs, and originally took it as an allergic reaction. After doing a bit of research, I found out that it could be fleas. For more context, my house is fully carpetted except for the kitchen and the bathrooms. After finding a flea crawling on my couch, I began to inspect my floor and room closely, and found many more over a span of an hour or two. Some were on my carpet, a couple on my leg, and one or two on my couch. It is currently 4 am, and Im honestly freaking out about what to do. I dont know if my parents will take it seriously enough to hire an exterminator, or if im just overexaggerating. I also dont know where to sleep tonight, since the cat bed is located in the hallway near our bedrooms. When I looked closely at the catbed, I noticed a moving larvae. Im sorry for the scattered post, but im panicking and desperate. Please help reddit!

Identification Which animal do these droppings belong to?

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

Hey guys. My brothers cat is missing, and we are worried she might be gone, or an animal took her. Last night, around 3am, we think she slipped out the front door while one of us went to get something from the front porch. On either side of the front porch, there is an areas with tanbark and trees. She’s slipped out before, and she usually stays on the porch or in that tanbark area. Two hours went by when we were both wondering, “where tf is Lucy?”
We searched everywhere. Turned our house upside down, searched the property multiple times. We put her litter box out, shook her food bag, called her name, we did everything. We found these animal droppings right by the front porch. My fear is that what ever animal this poop belongs to, snatched our cat and took off with it and killed her. We live on a hill in the Bay Area, lots of coyotes, snakes, bob cats, tarantulas, owls, live on our property. We hear coyotes howling at night and owls hooting. I want to identify what this animal is, I want to know what you guys think could have happened, and I also want to know how to support my brother. Please let me know your thoughts and if you have any suggestions. Do we keep looking?
She’s a small cat, tiny frame, 9lbs.

Termidor SC or HE

Contacted Termidor and they generally just read the package description.

My situation is deep footers in certain area of the home.

Trenched and drilled through concrete by pest control.

I don’t know if the company used SC or HE (I will ask)

My concern is if SC used, will drilling 18” into the soil and injecting Termidor be adequate for the deep footers? It’s 18” minus the 4-5” of concrete and another 3-4” of 57 stone.

What about trenching with deep footers? Should that have been rodded?

I was told termites like to migrate closer to the surface of the soil and prefer to travel up rather than down.

If HE was used, I believe this is the preferred product for my deep footers from what I gathered from Termidor.

Please let me know.

what could possibly be biting me at night??

I’ve been getting bit about once a week by some mysterious bug for a month or 2 now. I’ve deep cleaned my room 4 times in the past month or 2, and the last time i cleaned it i moved all my furniture and mattress, as well as vacuumed/wiped down every sinlge thing in my room. I’ve ruled out bed bugs bc after the first time I got attacked in the night and I washed my sheets I never got bite in a cluster again. I also get bit in areas where the bug would have to crawl under my clothes. For context I wear a t-shirt and pj pants when I sleep every night.

The first time I got bit, its was all on my neck with one on my arm. The second time was 2 on my leg, 2 on my stomach, and one on the back of my thigh. The third time was on my hand, mid forearm, and upper shoulder. Fourth time I was getting real tired, but I only got bit the mid-front of my forearm and my elbow. This last time(last night) was on my neck, by my right armpit, mid chest, and then my lower left chest. This all happened over a 2 month period.

I’m allergic to the bite itself I think so it swells up a whole bunch. This last time is definitely not as bad as the last times, but I’d get almost an aching pain with how large it’d swell up.

I found no signs of any bugs when I cleaned every time. My mattress and mattress topper were completely spotless. There isn’t any food or anything in my room to attract bugs. My dogs don’t go into my room or upstairs at all. My sister thinks its a mosquito and I thought it could be a spider.

Please help I’m so over being itchy 😭😭

Anyone have first hand experience using the ILI CO2 Eliminator against pocket gophers

It has taken almost 3 months of daily application of bait to eliminate the pocket gopher infestation from our 3 softball fields. But it appears to be working very well.

Bait is pretty pricey and I have seen a few signs of secondary poisoning.

If anyone has used the CO2 Eliminator, I'd very much like to hear about your experience on ease of use and effectiveness against pocket gophers, ground squirrels and moles.

Thanks for your comments!

Identification What left a dropping on my sink?

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Chicago, IL. Sorry for the bad pictures, best I could do photographing a small dark object on a white sink.

Found on my bathroom sink with no obvious source, looks like droppings so I'm assuming it is. During the evening while I was still very much awake and active, in a span of two hours or so between me entering or looking in my bathroom in my very small apartment.

Forgot to take a picture with anything for scale, but it was about 3/4 of a centimeter in size. Wet and left wet reddish/pinkish residue, cleaned up easily without a stain.

From the appearance and size my best bet would be rat but I am baffled how and why a rat could get into my bathroom, take a dump on my sink, and leave, in a short time frame while I am still active and lights are on. I've had no other signs of rodent activity in here that I'm aware of, and the building has pest control come by every month so hopefully they would tell me if they found signs.

Thanks in advance for any help, I plan to notify building management but would like to have some confidence in what to tell them so they actually take action.

This is a couch - not a body part.

Can someone tell me if this looks like fleas?

It’s a couch that I picked up off of fb marketplace and I didn’t notice this spot until after I go home and now I’m freaking out because I have a cat and carpet in my apartment.

Stink bugs?

What repels stink bugs? I know they say to seal up any cracks/window seals in your home but if you understand what I lived in you would understand it’s hard for me to do that.. so I’m looking for some kind of chemical to repel these suckers…

General Question Help with getting rid of Palmetto Bugs in Attic

I have a 3 story house where we are seeing a high activity of palmetto bugs on the third floor.
We have a pest service company that has come out about 2 times in the last month to put down chemicals and traps in the attic and third floor but we are still seeing these bugs. Any advice on what we should
Tell the pest company to do? We asked if
They can bomb the home but not sure if that will solve the problem.
Also as far as the attic, who would I need to call to see if someone can walk through the attic and seal
Any cracks these roaches are coming through?

Thanks

General Question I found a singular dead termite, should I be concerned?

I don’t need identification because I’m familiar with how they look. When I was a kid my school was infested and they were everywhere, and a place I lived in a few years ago had them though I never saw the infestation myself— i know fumigation is needed.

I live in an older place right now and just got home to find a dead one next to my bathroom sink. Not sure how it died, it wasn’t there this morning, it’s the only one i have seen and my bathroom doesn’t have any sort of windows. I keep the doors closed but old houses can have large gaps under the doors.

Should I be concerned now or wait to spot another? It is pretty hot and windy where I am right now, unsure if it could be a straggler.. Maybe it got in through the vent?

Thanks

We keep finding these fuckers in our living room, mainly on our side windows. They seem rather lazy as when I miss a shoe smack they try to walk away instead of flying. I've already checked my chimney flue and it's closed. I cannot think of anywhere else they are entering from. We rarely ever see them flying. In my experience the two I've caught flying have seemed "younger" with more bright yellow coloring.

The region is North Central WV.
