“Auntie” gift

One of my husbands and I’s best friends ended up taking both myself and my husband to the hospital when we had our first child… I had an emergency c-section and he was working. She also coordinated a meal train for us when we were at the hospital for a month when our baby was in the NICU, and is just a 10/10 friend to us lately. I want to get her a nice “thank you” gift but I am at a loss on how to thank her for all she’s done. Anyone have ideas?

Holiday Group Gift Ideas

Hello! Looking for holiday gift ideas.

We have a small office staff, all women, two are in their 40s and the other five are mid 50s to mid 60s. Every year, for the holidays, we take them out for a nice holiday dinner. In addition to their holiday bonuses, we always like to get them a gift. Between two and $300. There are a few few years where we did nicer bags, one year we did Meta Ray-Ban’s, Dyson hairdryers, etc. We really like to give them something that they might not buy themselves and again this is just to thank you from us in addition to their holiday bonus to help show how much we care
About them and are grateful for all they do.

This year, I can’t think of anything! I’m trying to get ahead and not scramble at the last minute and also our party is pretty early in the month this year. Any and all ideas are really appreciated:)

Should I throw away the gift ?

So basically I have lived with my relatives for 2 years and let's just say she did bad things with me (mentally) like [ didn't gave me food for a whole week I can only eat at night when my uncle came so we eat together otherwise she won't gave me food, made me washed my own clothes even tho use washing machine to wash everyone else's clothes and yea many more ] I was 14 back then and mind you my parents spoiled me rotten okey? They won't even let me take a glass of water or press my clothes like no nothing at all i was so spoiled and then I had to Live with my relatives and they treated me like shit .

I am 18 now she went for haj ( like in islam it's a thing you do if you have money it's kinda important maybe ) and bought me a bracelet and a keychain, i am thinking of throwing it away what should I do ? I mean it's nice but it will keep me reminding those things

[ I just got diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety disorder after 4 years and I am on medication]

Housewarming gift for a friend who owns every candle and plant already

She just bought her first place and honestly her shelves are full. Three candles, two plants, a diffuser. Anything on that list would just be a duplicate.

I'd like to spend $25 to $40 on something she'll use in the first week, not store in a closet until spring. Consumables seem smart but I don't want to guess wrong on scent or skin.

What's the best housewarming gift you ever got? And what did you get that you quietly regifted?

21+ Gift Ideas after 7 years of Motherhood that I still love (no screens)

I love curating gifts and these have been my greatest successes. I have no affiliates to declare. I could write a great review for any one of these! For each age I’ve included, in order, 1 practical item, 1 true toy, and 1 outdoor gift. We have no screen time and my kids are never bored.

**Age 0**
Sound Machine Night Light & Star Projector all-in-one
Oball and Manhattan Skwish Toy
Merino Wool Baselayer
**Age 1**
Nice Shoes
Wheelie Bug
Carrier
**Age 2**
Nugget Couch
Tonka Truck
Backpack
**Age 3**
Spielstabil Pail and 26” Shovel
Plan Toys Victorian Dollhouse
Lightweight pedal Bike and MIPS Helmet
**Age 4**
Yoto Player
Duplo Electric Train
Rocky Talkies
**Age 5**
Djeco Jewelry Box
Travel Magnetiles
Sleeping Bag
**Age 6**
Ikea’s Children Knives, Apron, and Chef’s Hat
Lego
Kids First Aid Kit
**Age 7**
Kobo eReader
Modelling Clay
Garmin Jr Watch

Now 4 & 7, both kids used nearly all of these today or last weekend. When I read the list to the children to get their opinion my son wept deeply because he misses his favourite baby carrier (we sold it recently at a garage sale). Otherwise these items are still with us. We don’t wear their baby shoes, but they are a special keepsake for each kid. The baby baselayers wore out or have been repurposed at doll clothes.

Always consider upgrading something they have, or adding onto what they have (uno expansion pack, duplo with Blue characters, carrier for match box cars, clothes for their minikane dolls). Often overlooked options include board games - cooperative options for very young children- musical instruments (drum, kazoo, harmonica, ukulele etc), or room decor like new bedding. Never forget to shop used first - it’s all used after it’s unboxed. For stockings (and Easter baskets too) I like to go practical with new tooth brushes, pacifiers, shampoo, hair accessories, mittens, toques, and new colouring supplies including individual pencil crayons or markers in skin tones or for colours they’ve used up.

Honourable mentions go to our beloved minikane dolls, travel magnatiles, ikea play kitchen, my vintage Barbie collection, my vintage Playmobil collection, and a nicer Moses basket that now holds all their dolls.

This year I’m buying a kobo, slinky, and a nightgown for my daughter. For my son I’m gifting a whoopee cushion, puppy surprise, and a FatMonkey doorframe climber (DIY version).

Best gifts my kids reported when I asked them: books, Yoto player, nuggets couch, dolls, and Lego.

Gift ideas for a friend's 3-year-old son?

I’m trying to pick out a Christmas gift for a friend’s 3-year-old son, but I’m not really sure what to get him. We haven’t seen each other since they got married, and I’ve never met his little boy, so I have no idea what he likes.

I’d love to get him something thoughtful that most kids his age would enjoy, without spending too much. Ideally, something that’s a pretty safe bet even when you don’t know the kid very well. Maybe toy cars, building blocks, or puzzles? Any suggestions?

My partner and I are coming up on a milestone anniversary and I want the gift to match the weight of it

We hit five years next month. This is the longest relationship either of us has been in and it's the first one where I genuinely cannot imagine being with anyone else. We've gotten through a long distance stretch, a cross-country move, job losses, family stuff. None of it was easy but we came out the other side every time. I don't want to just get her a nice dinner and call it a five-year anniversary gift. She deserves something that acknowledges what we've been through together. I keep going back and forth between a few ideas. Commissioning a custom song about our relationship is one of them, but I've also thought about putting together some kind of physical scrapbook documenting the whole five years, or planning a surprise trip back to the city where we first met. The trip has logistics problems. She'd need to take time off and I'd have to lie about where we're going, which doesn't sit right. The scrapbook I'd genuinely do but I'm not artistic and I'm worried it'll look like a middle school project. The custom song idea appeals to me because it takes all these specific moments and turns them into something she can keep and revisit. How do you figure out which gesture matches what the relationship means? I don't want to overthink this into something forgettable. TL;DR: Five-year anniversary with my partner, we've been through a lot together. Trying to decide between a custom song, a scrapbook, or a surprise trip. I want the gift to feel like it matches how significant the relationship is.

hes the type who says dont waste money on me every birthday, got him a keychain with the coordinates of his old fishing spot and he just went quiet for a sec, sometimes it's not about the price tag at all,

I like the idea of making gift baskets around someone's actual routine

Instead of choosing random things that look nice together, I think it's more useful to pay attention to what someone already enjoys.

For someone who loves baths, that could mean a few bath essentials. For someone who loves reading, maybe a book, snacks, and a cozy blanket.

The items don't have to be expensive.

I think a gift feels more personal when it fits into someone's everyday life rather than asking them to start a completely new hobby.

Please help with this special, simple project for my boyfriend!?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I posted this about a month ago and had some amazing people help me out. I’m trying to finish the project by October 31, so I’m posting again in hopes of reaching a few more places!
I’m making a sentimental gift for my boyfriend, Luke, and I’m looking for people from different cities, states, and countries who would be willing to write:

“Luke—Anne Marie’s love for you is so big, it’s reached ______.”

Fill in the blank with your city + state/country, write it on a piece of paper, and take a picture of it somewhere in your area! It can be in front of a landmark, city sign, pretty view, recognizable location—or honestly just somewhere that shows a little piece of where you live (backyards count too😂) .
Then just comment the photo here or message it to me on Reddit.
My goal is to collect as many places as I can and put all the pictures together in a book for him. ❤️
I’ll put a reference photo in the comments so you can see what I mean.
Thank you SO much to anyone willing to take a few minutes to help a stranger make a really special gift. It genuinely means more to me than you know.
I plan on posting this finished product once it’s over!

Shoutout to everyone who has helped me so far.. I absolutely adore you ♥️

One gift idea: put together something around their favorite place

Instead of choosing a gift around someone's age or the occasion, think about a place they love.

If they're happiest in the kitchen, maybe a beautiful recipe book or a useful cooking accessory.

If they love their reading corner, a reading light, bookmark, or cozy throw.

If the bathroom is their favorite place to unwind, a bath tray or a few bath essentials could be a lovely addition.

Personalized gift ideas don't always need someone's name printed on them. Sometimes they just need to fit the little spaces they enjoy most.

Would you gift these Handmade orchid bagcharm ?

I've been experimenting with clay flowers and turning them into bag charms. These are my three latest orchids!

💗 A soft pink orchid

💙 A deep blue orchid with a metallic finish

🌺 A magenta orchid

I hand-shaped and painted each flower, and I'm really happy with how the different colours turned out! 🥹✨

I'm still learning and experimenting with handmade accessories, so I'd love to hear your honest opinions.

Which one do you like most: pink, blue, or magenta? And what flower should I try making next? 🌷

Customer Appreciation Gift Ideas

Open to all kinds of ideas! My company would like to mail out gifts to our VIP customers from this year (about 20 accounts). Some things we are keeping in mind:

Was there one or multiple contacts for these accounts?

Are edible treats overdone? Would they want something to use or look at instead?

Should we consider their profession (ex: teachers or corporate office) when choosing a gift or keep it neutral for everyone?

What would you all like to get from a company who worked with you on a big project?
