Is it just my parrot, or do yours also like sticking their tongues out?

i have a about to be 5 year old conure and hes the sweetest and we used to have another conure but he died a few years ago, i got a 5 month old quaker a week ago and we have their cages beside each other and we always supervise them whenever they are out together. the baby mimics him like if he eats she eats and so on. but they have been fighting so we put them in time outs. the baby is also nervous around hands but she has learnt step up quickly but is picky when she wants to step up. ive never owned a quaker and when i last brought home a new bird they bonded quickly so i feel so new to them fighting and with having a baby bird any tips?

My caique Mango loves this falling sand picture. Always seems to calm her from an excited state (about 95% of the time, she is a caique). She loves sitting in front of it when the sand is falling and if it’s not she will ask me to set it going! Recommended for parrot mental health 😁

This is my son, Apollo, I got him maybe a little less than a month ago? He’s still nervous and fidgety but I’m being patient. Unfortunately I can’t be with him all the time, and getting two lovebirds with how stubborn and aggressive they are feels like a bad idea, nor do I want to risk him possibly getting more stressed out. Would he be able to get along with a cockatiel?

Need help finding climbing vines to hang around my walls for my babies to climb on but having trouble finding real ones pretty much all I’ve found were theartificial vines but I don’t want them getting sick if they chew on them. I have 2 of my walls designed as a play/climbing area but I need vines to finish if anyone has any suggestions I’d greatly appreciate it!! Also would it be bad to use the artificial vines I assume so but I tend to be super cautious with my birds so idk if I’m overthinking it or not. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

About twice a year, I destroy my living room with a toy making assembly line. Made well over 100 toys for my flock. Now to watch them go up in shreds over the next 6 months. 😂

Hello! I had a prior post to this. Unfortunately we have not found our Sam back.
He has flown out further and we can no longer hear him.
If you are in the Dover, Wingdale New York Area, please keep an ear out for him. He has a screech squawk instead of your typical beautiful bird sounds, and he tends to blend in.
We have put out his cage, played bird sounds and it has officially been three days. He is small, and he is scared by strangers... We have given out flyers and had been looking for him throughout the neighborhood.
It's also unfortunate that we live right by the woods, with very tall trees... we also have just moved to this neighborhood..
is there possibly anything else we can do?
thank you for all the support from the last post!

Hi!
I want to preface this as saying I personally am very experienced with many kinds of birds and have had Indian ringnecks, cockatiels, sun conures, green cheek conures and also had a lot to do with caring for quakers, kakarikis and quite a few other species. So I am merely looking opinions as I am a very indecisive person and have a few factors to consider.
I need to decide on a species of bird to get for our family. We have a 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl and this will also be there first introduction to pet ownership and birds. My husband has also had quite a few bad experiences with parrots and is relatively scared of them. He is willing to get to know one though but is convinced a budgie would be our best choice simply because their beaks are smaller and less likely to cause a bad injury to him or the kids. I am aware a budgie still bites and quite often larger parrots are even gentler than a budgie.
Obviously every individual bird has its own personality but it would be great to find one that is not a screecher for my husbands sake and one that is hardy enough to deal with the chaos of having kids in the house.
I am a stay at home mum and will be the primary carer for the bird, it will always have attention and supervision.
I’d love something that could potentially be a good talker.
I am leaning towards a ring neck or probably a cockatiel or budgie? Any opinions? Thank you!
ETA: thank you to those who have given opinions and advice for the question I asked! And a note to everyone downvoting and being hostile for literally no reason - judgmental comments are only going to make new bird owners a whole lot less likely to ask for advice if they fear being judged and getting nasty responses. Then, they go out and buy a bird with no advice and no understanding of what to expect - leading to the outcomes for their birds you all think you are fighting against. Kindness goes a long way, and if you give people kind and tactful advice, you’ll save a whole lot more birds from a cruel fate than you will by judging someone who is on the same side as you and just wants to make a wise decision. Hope you all have a great day! 🙂

I played some Pirates Of The Caribbean for him, to make him feel a little more at home. 😂

A lot of fellow parrot parents here told me she did not look healthy. So I took her to the vet and he said that her diet was good, but she did need a mineral block. So we got her one and it has done wonders. She has become fluffy within a week and doesn’t pluck out her feathers as much. Her tail feathers have also started growing faster. Thank you everyone 🫶

Put a down payment on him for 180 and the rest is 550 which I’m paying on Sunday. Comes with cage toys foods perches bedding and everything else but will be splurging a ton on them.
He (or she) is so sweet and was preening my girlfriend’s hair in the store while we were holding him.
I’ve noticed in the first photo, his claw is splayed up. Is that normal? It’s also in another photo I took.

Hi there, I would like to get a baby cockatiel, but the nearest one I can find is a six-hour drive away. Would the cockatiel be okay with the long journey home if I collected him, or is it best not to? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

i've been looking into birds for a while, and i'm finally in a spot in my life where taking one in is a possibility. i would like a smaller bird (i would be getting two, to keep each other company when i'm working), but i'm torn between a few kinds- budgie parakeets, parrotlets, and lovebirds in particular.
what species do you guys like the best? what are some pros and cons, and differences between them? any other species that i should research?

I’m going to bleach my hair in the bathroom with the door closed. I’ll keep my parrot in the room farthest away from the bathroom, with the door closed and the window wide open. I’ll also make sure my parrot can’t perch on my shoulders or head for a few days. Could this still be dangerous for my parrot?
