General I’m launching a web app to help Nigerian students track their JAMB, WAEC, and NECO preparation this Friday

Last month, I shared a project I was building to help Nigerian students prepare smarter for JAMB, WAEC, and NECO. The response was encouraging and gave me more reason to keep pushing.

I initially planned to launch a mobile app, but gathering and organising past questions has taken longer than expected. Rather than keep waiting, I’ve decided to launch the web version first.

myJAMB (myExam) goes live this Friday.

The idea is to help students practise past questions, track their progress, monitor their performance, and get a better idea of how prepared they are before the actual exam.

I'm fixing the last few bugs, and I plan to open it up for students to use, test, and give honest feedback.

This is an early version, and I want to build it with feedback from the people who actually need it.

If you're preparing for JAMB, WAEC, or NECO, or you know someone who is, keep an eye out. I'll share the link on Friday.

I'd also love to know: Would being able to track your performance across past questions help you prepare better for your exams?

General I built a school management platform for Nigerian schools and would love to hear your thoughts

Hi everyone!

I've been working on a project called SchoolOnline, a school management platform designed for primary and secondary schools in Nigeria.

The goal is to make it easier for schools to manage things like students, staff, attendance, fees, and results in one place instead of relying on multiple tools or handling everything manually.

I've been building it for a while, and I'd like to share it with people outside my usual circle and hear what they think.

I'm particularly interested in hearing from teachers, parents, school administrators, or anyone familiar with how Nigerian schools operate. I'd love to know whether you think something like this would be useful, what's missing, or what you would change about the idea.

You can check it out here: https://schoolonline.com.ng/

There's also a demo account available if you'd like to explore the platform and see how it works without setting up an actual school.

Thanks!

You know how a day can start with work, turn into three unexpected errands, and somehow end with dinner plans you didn’t know you had? 😂

Women move through so much in a single day. We’re professionals, daughters, mothers, friends, business owners, and sometimes all of these before 5 pm. We shouldn’t have to keep reinventing ourselves every time life takes a different turn.

That’s part of why I started Nola. We curate non-tarnish, hypoallergenic, 18k gold-plated jewellery for women who want pieces they can wear through their everyday lives, not just save for special occasions.

We’re still growing and hoping to reach more women who connect with this idea.

We also have free delivery across Nigeria for the rest of October.

If you know someone who’d love our kind of jewellery, please send Nola their way. 🥹

Here’s our little corner of the internet: https://wearnola.com.ng/

You can also follow us on Instagram

Thank you!

Little update: Someone from Reddit placed an order last night, and honestly, it means so much to me 🥹❤️ Thank you for giving Nola a chance. You have no idea how much it means!

General 28F | Giving This a Shot! Looking for My Person

So, I decided to post this here because you never know!

I am a 28-year-old, never-married Christian woman from Nigeria, currently living in US. I have no children but hope to have children after marriage. I am educated, work in healthcare, and maintain a disciplined, balanced lifestyle. I value honesty, respect, emotional maturity, self-awareness, and clear communication. I do not drink, smoke, vape, or use substances, and I would prefer someone with similar habits.
I am looking for a Christian man between the ages of 26 and 37 who has never been married, has no children, and holds at least a bachelor’s degree. I value empathy, responsibility, financial stability, and someone who is intentional about marriage. Financial stability doesn’t necessarily mean having everything figured out, but being responsible and financially secure.
I am a born-again Pentecostal/Charismatic Christian and I’m only interested in someone with similar beliefs. My faith is very important to me and it’s non negotiable. I also love politics and enjoy meaningful discussions about governance and current affairs. I love Nigeria despite its challenges, pray for the country, and genuinely hope to see it become better someday. While I understand people’s frustrations, I would prefer someone who doesn’t believe Nigeria is completely irredeemable.
I don’t have pets, but I love dogs! Although I currently live in the US, I am willing to relocate anywhere within the US for the right person. I am also open to getting to know someone based in Nigeria, provided they have the means and flexibility to travel between Nigeria and the US and are genuinely willing to invest the time, effort, and consistency needed to build a meaningful connection despite the distance.
Ultimately, I am looking for an honest, respectful, and meaningful connection that leads to marriage.
If you are not seeking a serious relationship with marriage in mind, please do not reach out. If you decide to message me, kindly introduce yourself properly. Include your age, location, occupation, educational background, faith, interests, and what you are looking for in a relationship. Please, no one-word introductions like “Hi” or “Hey” as I will not be responding to that.
Thank you for reading, and God bless you. Amen! ❤️

Edit: My genotype is AS. I just wanted to clarify that for those who have been asking in my DMs. Also, yes, I’m absolutely open to making female friends here in the US! I’ve seen a few messages from ladies already, and I appreciate you reaching out. ❤️ Respectfully, I won’t be responding to one-word messages like “Hey,” “Hi,” or anything similar. Kindly take a moment to introduce yourself properly. Thank you all so much for the kind messages, encouragement, and everyone rooting for me. I genuinely appreciate it. God bless you all! ❤️

General I don’t know if this is going to work, but I need people to patronize my boyfriend.

My boyfriend hustles in Balogun market; you know those people that take people to where they can shop for things they came for? He is a good man, but the hustle has become so saturated that it’s hard to find people that want to buy things.

He earns a certain commission when people buy from the shops he takes them to, and he can help you buy the best male outfits(suits, T-shirts, trousers, shoes and all that) and for girls, he can help you buy the best human hairs and clothes, and you don’t have to wander around the market with no clue how to go about it.

For people outside Nigeria, if you want to get some things, he can help you get them and send them over to you, and I promise you, he won’t disappoint you.

Christmas is fast approaching, and I know a lot of you would be looking to buy things from the market.

If you are interested, then send me a DM, and he can meet you at UBA head office, and from there, you can go to the shops.

I know the country is unsafe, and meeting people is kind of risky, but you both would be meeting in a public place, and I’m assuring you that I’m just trying to help a good man make more sales.

Thank you 🙏

Editing because someone mentioned it in the comments, and I think it’s a good idea: For those that can’t make it to the market, the shopping can be done via video call, and you can get to choose everything you want yourself.

Discussion I built a live map showing which Lagos areas currently have light -LightDey

Up NEPA? E no dey?

I got tired of the guessing game, so I built lightdey.app - a crowdsourced map where you tap "Light dey " or "E no dey"  for your area and everyone sees it live.

- Nologin, no tracking, completely anonymous

- Started with 20 Lagos areas (tell me which ones to add)

- Detects your area from your location if you want

- Share your area's status straight to WhatsApp/X/FB/IG

The bigger idea: Band A customers pay ~₦225/kWh, tripled in 2024 for a promise of 20+ hours a day. This app is the receipt: timestamped reports from residents showing what actually showed up, street by street. You're paying for a promise, LightDey is trying to check the receipt.

It's still rough, so I'm here for the feedback- try am, break am, tell me wetin no work. Thanks all, help share it and lets build this to include the entire country

Discussion Massive decolonialsation

Is a return to our indigenous belief systems the only way out of this mess that we find ourselves in. I am particularly curious about the 20/early 30s thoughts regarding the amalgamation of culture and religion so as the Abrahamic religions continue to maintain their stronghold on the country, we have thrown generational knowledge of how man exists on this plane, how can we begin to revisit the pre colonial models of existing instead of whatever this current mish mosh is.

Discussion Family problem, honestly just ranting

I’m not sure where to begin. So I live in the uk and have been unemployed for a while now, mostly living on savings hoping to find anything soon, it’s taking me longer to something due to grieving.

Today is my dad funeral, and have been trying to get hold of my siblings back home, but no one was answering I thought they were just busy until today. I called my younger brother who told me no one wants to talk to me because I’m not sending money home.

I sent almost 300k home at the beginning of this months, my other siblings in Italy are contributing as well, it’s not that they’re left with just 300k, I know that is not enough at all on my end, but right now, I’m struggling myself and can’t even sustain some basic needs. But my family thinks I’m better off, even when I keep telling them I’m struggling.

But today of all day, they decided to ignore me. I’m so tempted to delete or cut off all of my contacts with them since there’s nothing holding us together, our mother passed ages ago, now our dad.

They know I’m alone here, struggling and they decided to pull out this behaviour. This’s the reason I’m not home, because they don’t know how scared i am to even visit my own family, well due to past events.

I’m just in distress at the moment and not sure where to dump all this feelings.

Discussion We are all sick.

I cannot describe the fear I have to fall sick in Nigeria. Our health care is shit, our hospital is in the gutter. Many deaths that has occurred this year could have been prevented. I had an active ear infection, my ear hurts and I was visibly draining whitish pus. I want to a teaching hospitals and they gave me an appointment. An appointment for something I needed urgently. What do I need, a simple saline wash so they could see my eardrum. I then imagine if I was going through an worsening infection in the ear that could lead to something worst, was this how I would have endure pain till my appointment. I cannot blame the doctors or the hospital, they aren't paid enough and even if they want to help, they simply can't. My parents are getting older and with old age comes sickness, I so scared for them because I know they might not get the help they need even if we get to the hospital on time.

Tinubu must go oooo. I want a leader we can reason with. I know we are tribalistic but we must put it aside because we are at the point we're if we don't act we or our love ones will die while we watch helplessly.

Ask Naija Why Do Food Reviewers Always Showcase Fufu Instead of Pounded Yam?

Does anyone else find it weird that most food reviewers often showcase fufu instead of pounded which is arguably our best swallow when reviewing Nigerian food?

Plus, does anyone get a sense that the positive reactions are a bit performative? You don’t necessarily chow swallow, but they do it and love it even with the exotic smell.

Culture Tell me all your superstitions!!!

Lately I've been really curious about superstitions. It started because of some I came across in historical manhuas, Thai series, and recently, a novel about hockey players.

I decided to ask my mother about some superstitions she knew. She told me about this one about how if a plate breaks during a wedding preparation it means the marriage would be good. She also told me another one about how hiccups mean someone is talking about you behind your back. She's from the North by the way.

I honestly think superstitions are really fascinating and if you have any I'd love to hear about it and also what part of the country it's from.

Wish we empowered our children in this way. I was a sheltered boarder. It was unthinkable to rise up against authority in this way. The president having spent time in France doesn't want to see citizens react in the same way.

General Nigerian Students, myJAMB Is Now Live! Prepare for JAMB, WAEC, NECO and Post-UTME in One Place

myJAMB (myExam) is live.

A month ago, I shared the idea here, and the encouragement I got from people in this community pushed me to keep going. Now, I'm happy to finally share the web version.

I built myJAMB to help Nigerian students prepare for JAMB, WAEC, NECO, and Post-UTME.

Here's what you can do with it:

  • Check your exam readiness.
  • Use Snap and Solve to submit a question and get an answer, explanation, and suggestions on what to study next.
  • Take quizzes, review your mistakes, and track your progress.
  • Prepare for multiple exam types in one place.

The past-question database is still a work in progress, so Snap and Solve currently uses AI to answer questions. I'm being upfront about that because there's still work to do, and I want to improve the platform based on how students actually use it.

You can try it here: https://myjambweb.vercel.app/

This is an early version, and I'd genuinely appreciate honest feedback. If you try it, let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you'd like to see added.

Thanks again to everyone who encouraged me when this was just an idea. It's good to finally have something people can try.
