There was a lot more preplanning and mockups and back and forth with my client with this one, but after officially putting paint on one of these, I think I'm confident enough to do anything else now. 😂

2 Sacred cat full art alters I did for my caw-gates deck. These were the first full art textless alters I worked on in this style, and I think they came out well – It was fun to try and understand and work with the colours, and I think they look great on the battlefield!

I was inspired by someone painting the scene of the ring girl crawling out of the well, I’ve been wanting to try for a while!

I’m looking for feedback but be kind, this is literally my first attempt at an alter. The medium gave me a bit more trouble than I was expecting. Is there a better way to base white or is it literally just a thousand thin coats of white?

Acrylic paint alter afaik

They were great with timelines, fairly priced, and captured my vision very well. 10/10 would recommend. (but wait a week im trying to comission another card first and I want a shorter line)

I recently started altering cards, and I’ve mostly been working with posca pens, and I have recently moved on to traditional acrylics.

So far, I have been using a matte spray varnish to protect my alters, but recently I have been inspired from TheDam over on instagram, and I have started doing alters on foil cards with a needle to scratch away at a coat of acrylic paint.

When I went to varnish my test card, I noticed that the foil looked very flat, losing all of the rainbow reflections that I love from this style of alter.

Does anyone have any tips on what type of varnish or coating I should use to best protect these alters, while preserving the rainbow reflections of the foil layer?

Also, I’ve been using a sewing needle for these tests, and I was wondering if there was a better tool for me to use.

This alter was one that I was so excited to paint. I love the M9 and Cad was a joy to paint!

The main question is in the title. Here are some cards that I think represent my skill in extending the borders.

As a secondary question wheter you think that I could or couldn't sell these what are some areas where I would need to improve?

As a tertiary question where could/should sell alters that I have made?

This was my second time painting around the text on a card and I think it came out really well! It helps that the border underneath is not such a different colour to the sandstorm.
