Done with Acrylics!

There was a lot more preplanning and mockups and back and forth with my client with this one, but after officially putting paint on one of these, I think I'm confident enough to do anything else now. 😂

One of my faves to paint, to date!

I’m looking for feedback but be kind, this is literally my first attempt at an alter. The medium gave me a bit more trouble than I was expecting. Is there a better way to base white or is it literally just a thousand thin coats of white?

I was inspired by someone painting the scene of the ring girl crawling out of the well, I’ve been wanting to try for a while!

Just wanted to post an (admittedly late) appreciation post for the comission I had done from u/Aelof_97

Acrylic paint alter afaik

They were great with timelines, fairly priced, and captured my vision very well. 10/10 would recommend. (but wait a week im trying to comission another card first and I want a shorter line)

For day #22 of inktober we’ve got the Lich from Adventure Time!

he fell

took me way too long (5hrs)

(sorry for repost i accidentally used wrong account, please don't kill me)

I recently started altering cards, and I’ve mostly been working with posca pens, and I have recently moved on to traditional acrylics.

So far, I have been using a matte spray varnish to protect my alters, but recently I have been inspired from TheDam over on instagram, and I have started doing alters on foil cards with a needle to scratch away at a coat of acrylic paint.

When I went to varnish my test card, I noticed that the foil looked very flat, losing all of the rainbow reflections that I love from this style of alter.

Does anyone have any tips on what type of varnish or coating I should use to best protect these alters, while preserving the rainbow reflections of the foil layer?

Also, I’ve been using a sewing needle for these tests, and I was wondering if there was a better tool for me to use.

Got my first alters from the guys who started learning altering lately and I'm particularly happy with this one

This alter was one that I was so excited to paint. I love the M9 and Cad was a joy to paint!

The original illustration belongs to erenangiolini on Instagram.

FOR SALE! 200 EURO / 225 USD, INCL SHIPPING.

Painted this one a long time ago! Original art by me.

The main question is in the title. Here are some cards that I think represent my skill in extending the borders.

As a secondary question wheter you think that I could or couldn't sell these what are some areas where I would need to improve?

As a tertiary question where could/should sell alters that I have made?

Any and all feedback is respected and valued. Thank you in advance.

By me.

This was my second time painting around the text on a card and I think it came out really well! It helps that the border underneath is not such a different colour to the sandstorm.

Hii

There are a few hours to go until the auction ends to get this card!! 🖤✨

I’m not 100% on the rules here. If a post like this is allowed if not apologize in advance. I’m looking for someone who’s either selling or willing to commission a Tivit, Seller of Secrets alter for my CEDH deck. It’s my favorite deck and I’ve been having a hard time finding ppl to do it. I’ve reached out to a lot of artist on instagram but none seem to be taking commissions at the moment. Thanks in advance

Done with Golden acrylics

[Context]

A close family friend took the leap a few years back and started painting professionally after a lot of health issues ended up putting him out of work indefinitely.

I've always had a love for his style, so when he asked me if I had cards I could give him to try his hands at alters, you best believe I jumped at the opportunity. This is the first full batch I've seen him do, and personally, I LOVE it. I asked him if he planned on posting it here and he said he wasn't cause he's had issues with his Reddit account not staying logged in. 💀

I felt like it at least needed to have a wider set of eyes on it.

Not sure of the rules around posting links here, but he DOES sell his art, so I'll link his Ebay in the comments, then mods can just remove the comment if necessary. 👍

Kind of fun to focus on design and layout when the illustration is already done. I painted both of these characters back in 2022.
