We stand with Ukraine

We normally do not bring politics into our sport but extraordinary events require extraordinary actions. Someday enjoyment of life, like motorcycles, will return to the Ukraine. They need our help now and I encourage everyone to checkout the ways to help or donate over at /r/Ukraine

Am I the only who thinks these motorcycles look very cool in a retro, neofuturistic sort of way, or do you think they are tacky/clownish?

I'd totally get one and ride around in an old bright neon Adidas sports jacket. In a world of black, grey, army green, and the odd bright red or green, these stand out in a way that gives me a grin from ear to ear. My dad used to own a KLE500 in this exact colour, with gold wheels. Motorcycles are not discreet, so why should their paint jobs be unassuming?

In order:

Honda VTR250 Interceptor

Yamaha DTR125

Suzuki GS500E

Kawasaki KLE500

(I do not own any of these pictures or motorcycles, and use them only so as to illustrate my point)

Doing my (Canadian) MSF course today

Absolutely amazing experience so far. I've never driven a bike before, and getting out of first gear was one of the most exhilarating feelings I've felt in my life. I'm absolutely hooked. I was so worried and anxious the past 2 months waiting for the course, but nearing the end of day 1, I'm much more confident looking forward to day 2!

Bugger was inside my helmet on the visor, literally an inch from my eye. Didn’t notice it until it came out and into my view halfway through my ride home

First motorcycle

I’m shopping for my first motorcycle, mainly for to commute for work and I don’t know if it’s just my area but every dealership adds a ridiculous amount of of fees to purchase a bike that the end price is the starting price of higher end bikes. This is for a Honda cb300r. I also have had my license for a couple years just never did anything as of yet.

How do you guys get through the off season?

Got my first bike a month ago (ninja 650) and I’ve put 2k miles on it already. I ride it every chance I get. I love everything about it lmao. The gas station stops, the people and conversations they bring, the looks, the speed. The fall weather is perfect with the gear I wear but anything below 40 I think I have to hang it up. For example it’s 38 where I’m at today and it’s pretty chilly but I’m trying to convince myself I will be alright if I layer up. Send help please

First motorcycle accident, open to all comments/criticisms.

What are your thoughts here? Was rolling up to the light on my street triple when it turned green, went through while checking for anybody super late in "beating the light" from the right. As I continued up the road, I signaled to change lanes, looked over my left shoulder, and when I looked back up this guy was pulling out from the side street. I initially thought he had stopped, and just didn't see me before pulling out, but I went back and looked closely at the video. Not only did they not stop, he pulled around the car in front of him who was actually stopping at the stop sign and just sent it into the intersection. With nowhere to actually go, since there was already a car in the median waiting on incoming traffic. He immediately started acting like it was my fault, said that he had cleared my lane of travel, and I served into him on purpose to pull an insurance claim. He didn't know I had the camera on the front fender. No issues with his insurance accepting liability and paying out... but just wondering if yall have any thoughts on the situation, should/could I have done anything different?

Please don't save on your gear

Last year I had an accident, really nasty. It was a low side, but my whole body was smashed against the highway wall (and I was not really overspeeding much)

I don't really remember what happened. It's like the whole episode was erased from my memory. I remember how I regained consciousness, and was in the ambulance. I spend the whole night in the hospital and had CT scans and then recovered from the broken fingers. After a month I even had a surgery to trim my pinkie.

But people around said it's a miracle I survived. I had a full gear (jacket/pants/gloves) and a backpack with my laptop - I think it helper a lot, as it was damaged like crazy (although I still had the back protector in may jacket).

My pants and my jacket were almost destroyed but I had zero (really!) bruises on my shoulders. My legs hurt like hell though.

My lesson is simple. I think I survived only because of my gear. So please, don't be cheap. Remember - sometimes it will save your life

Make them cables last. 33,000 miles on oem cable, pulls like a hot knife through warm butter.

Minimal amount of tiny metal shavings during engine oil change.

Hi guys, I’m new to motorcycles and just did my second oil change using Motul 7100. I noticed some metallic glitter in the oil, but the particles seem larger than what I’m comfortable with. Should I be concerned?

I tried to cut open the oil filter to inspect it, but the metal cut my palm, so I stopped halfway. So far I don’t see a larger chunk in the filter.

This oil has been used for around 2.2k miles / 3.5k km since the last oil change.

And it’s a 2019 Honda CB250R (CB300R in some countries) w/ 36k miles / 58k km mileage.

Thanks 🙏

2026/27 MT-09 SP vs 2026/27 R9

Going to buy either one of these brand new in a few months. I live inner city Chicago and will be doing most of my riding in the city, but still a decent amount of highway riding to visit family/friends about 1-1.5 hours outside the city. I’m leaning MT-09 SP due to comfort, suspension, and insurance costs, but am still taking the time to research and get opinions. Thoughts? Thanks! :)

Anyone know where I can find people to ride with?

So I (17f) have newly gotten my license (got it early September), and I wanna know where I can find other people my age that I can ride with. I wanna have other motorcycle friends that I can join to drive on trips, talk motorcycle stuff with, hang out with, etc.

Idk where I should look and stuff since I’m from Sandnes in Norway, and it isn’t easy just walking up to someone who has a motorcycle and just say “hey! Wanna be my motorcycle friend?”

If anyone wanna be motorcycle friends or know where I can find more friends, that would be awesome🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

2020 zx6r or 2024 Cbr 600 rr?

Hey everyone! I'm a girl looking to upgrade to a 600cc supersport, and I'm currently trying to decide between a 2020 Kawasaki ZX-6R and a 2024 Honda CBR600RR.

I'd love to hear from people who have ridden or owned either (or both) bikes, especially regarding a few things:

- Weight and handling: Which one feels lighter and easier to handle, especially when cornering, changing direction quickly, and pushing hard?

- Low-end performance: Which bike performs better at low RPMs? I'm curious about which one feels more responsive and usable at lower speeds, rather than needing to be constantly revved out.

- Aggressive riding: I have a pretty aggressive riding style and love leaning into corners and getting my knee down. Which bike feels more confidence-inspiring, stable, and predictable when riding hard?

I'm mainly looking for a bike for sporty street riding, with a focus on handling and cornering rather than just top speed.

If you've ridden both, which one would you personally choose and why? I'd really appreciate any real-world feedback, especially about the differences in weight, low-RPM power delivery, and handling.

Thanks! 🏍️

My first bike

Hi everyone,

Im considering buying this 2007 honda cbr 125 as my very first bike. I just wanted to ask, since i dont know alot yet, is this a good deal and does the bike look ok? And if 2007 125r’s are notorious for any specific problems?

The bikes listed for £1500

2007 Honda CBR 125, 16K Miles Good Condition, Minor Marks & Scuffs Runs & Rides Spot On, Just Had A Valet, Oil Change, Chain Cleaned & Lubed. Full Logbook, 2 Keys, Paperwork, Will Have 12 Months MOT & Replacement Rear Indicators, HPI Clear.

Ive done a license plate check and the only problems its had in the last few years is the rear brake binding but not excessively.

I would love for some opinions on this, thank you all!
