I found the pupa while I was out digging in the dirt for fun yk hot girl shit and I was like ooo pupa let me put it in an enclosure and observe what it grows into but I’m still not sure what type of moth I found! Very sweet moth though I loved her but I released her and raised her a few weeks ago I just thought I’d share and see if anyone knows who this sweetheart was

Manduca sexta
San Marcos, TX

Definitely underwhelming compared to every other image in this community but I found this in my backyard and am wondering if anyone can tell me what moth it’s from? I live in Northern California. My daughter is taking it for show and tell and I thought it would be nice to know what the species is. Thanks!!

SOLVED! and I wasn’t even in the right community 🤦‍♀️

Thanks!

Found this picture from about a year ago when I found this cutie in the middle of the street. I placed it in the shade in some bushes afterwards as it seemed really disoriented. Super cool moth to see, I was surprised to find it on the floor in the middle of the day.

On another note, I have been thinking of getting a privet bush on my balcony to see if I can attract some Deathhead Hawkmoths to lay their eggs on it. I was very excited to see one irl the other day (as I didnt even know they lived on the islands) and I would love to be able to see more and their caterpillars.

I love these!! They're so cute. 🥺🩷🦋

Bicolored Sallow Moth. Such a pretty cereal colour!
