For me it’s Quasar, he used to be apart of the Avengers back in the 80s before he became a member of the Annihilators in the modern era. He’s pretty much Marvel’s Green Lantern, since he wields a powerful item called the Quantum Bands which grants him cosmic abilities, energy projection, flight, super strength, enhanced durability, and the ability to also make constructs similar to a Lantern.

It's a shame Marvel turned him into a jobber. He should be respected more. Then we have Ryan North letting an alt Sue beat his ass, don't let me even start with donny cates . Power scaling aside, his origin is so sad: A man cursed with endless hunger. He has no one. Due to his mortal beginnings, he doesn't fit in with the other Abstracts. He's actually the loneliest man in the universe, not the Silver Surfer.

And the scar he left on the universe:

" To those who may one day receive this signal, we the dead sends our regards" An alien race about to be consumed by Galactus .

My fav quote:

"Of all the creatures in the vastness of the Universe, there is none like me... I bear no malice toward any living thing. I simply do what I must to survive."

Jack kirby and stan Lee did a good job with this character overall

These Marvel Characters are some of characters from Marvel Comics that I would like to see come back first and the characters show in the picture of this post are Jack Flag, Valkyrie (Brunnhilde), Goliath (Bill Foster), Abner Jankins (Mach, Formerly Beetle), Thunderstrike (Eric Masterson), Phyla Vell (the 616 version of the character because the Phyla Vell currently seen the comics is a different version of the character from an alternate universe) Nomad (Jack Monroe, Eric O’Grady, Rita Demara, Swordsman (Jacques Duquesne) and Mattie Franklin. Just to let you know, it can be any character not just the onces shown in the pictures of this post.

So I’ve been trying to find copies of Hickmans Fantastic Four run but there’s some that I simply can’t locate or get for a decent price, so I was considering buying them online and reading them on my phone. I’ve only ever bought physical copies before, how does this compare? Is it worth it or should I not bother?

Quinten sometimes gets on my nerves, acting like he did no wrong, which is satisfying when cap humbles him. Also, is it just me or the x men feel like self entitled jerks in recent stories.

Has Marvel ever done a line of Spider-Man comics that retold the story starting from the 1960s and realistically had him age as time went on?

Like by the time he meets Venom in the 1980’s, it’s been a little over 20 years since he started being Spider-Man

They could write it so that the stories mostly center on street/corporate crime along with other real world issues and the occasional super villain that changes things up every now and then.

Kind of like how the Batman animated series from the 1990s had a lot of stories primarily focusing on street crime committed by gangs.

I know that it’s a joke at this point that Peter has to always be a miserable teenager, but I think having something like “the Life of Spider-Man“ would be a neat limited series.

Could have each major arc take place after a five-year jump. Arc 1 1962, Arc 2 1967, Arc 3 1972, etc.

It would certainly be an interesting way to recontextualize his rogue gallery.

Maybe introduce someone like Ben Reilly in the 1970’s as a mentee little brother figure who’s basically 10 years younger than Peter, and later on have Miles Morales in the 2000’s who takes on the mantle from Ben, while the story still is primarily from Peter’s perspective in his 60’s, acting as a conclusion for the series.

In fact, if he’s 16 in 1962 and if the story ended in 2011, Peter would be 62 years old. That’d be a perfect ending

So I don't have a bunch of time but i would like to dive in...so pls recommend good comics which consist of his all three personalities and are fun to read.

I just finished (2024) Ultimate Spiderman Vol. 1 and I loved it. Are the other ultimate series worth it or is the spiderman story worth it to read as a self contained story? Wondering if I should get the other tie in volumes or not. Thanks

After hearing the hype around the midnight series Issue 1 didn't really move the needle for me. I get it, Spider-man origin issue with a twist requires build up but.... Spine-tingling Spider-man hooked me instanty. It instantly took me to a creep and darky place and I always recommend it to others.

Anyone read both of these guys and have any thoughts? I'm giving Midnight Spider-man 2 more issues or I'll probably skip this.

Hickman’s Secret Wars reading order

I’m planning to read Fantastic Four Complete Collections Vol. 1–4 → Avengers Complete Collections Vol. 1–5 → Secret Wars (2015).

Is this enough to understand Secret Wars, and is it a good starting point for a complete beginner to Marvel comics?

I keep getting ads for this comic subscription. They do partner and sell official marvel merchandise, sending subscribers comics every month of overarching story lines etc but I’m curious if there’s anyone here who’s actually used it. Online I’m reading a lot of mixed feelings saying it’s scammy in the way they cut up stories to keep you paying longer but I’m seeing they are offering full stories in less time than what people are mentioning? Let me know if you have any information on this!

Spiderman and Deadpool have a trilogy of modern era epic collections (with an optional team-up prequel) that I reeeally want to complete. I currently have the first one, “Isn’t it Bromantic”, and I can find the third one (Road trip) online very frequently but can’t find the second (Till death do us..) for the life of me! Does anyone know why the second volume of the collections is so rare? The only ones I can find are second hand with prices closer to $150USD while standard prices are $45. Are retailers out of print and are they planning another printing? Why specifically the second volume— honestly if anyone finds any trustworthy online stores I’d also be sooo grateful since I’m not experienced in the online comic buying space

Ranking them just on their design, not their actual character or writing.

There is a skeleton in a trench coat wandering around England killing people and they all have an unknown connection. The local constables think it is Dracula. Dracula fights the killer and is easily bested. This leads Dracula to investigate while the constables are hot on the monsters trail. Everything wraps up nicely in this standalone story.

I've always loved Venom, he's my favorite Marvel character. Now I want to more of him and I think comics is the best option, but I'd like to know which is the best one to start.

Hello All. Just wondering what the thoughts are on this series? From comments I’ve seen on Midnight, that’s a “Meh” at best. Is this intended to be a standalone series that becomes the main X-Men title?
